Visited last night for a birthday meal with the family, we had the meze menu and I can highly recommend it, so many gorgeous flavours , staff are lovely too .
What a fabulous meal. We had the mezze and every dish was delicious. We managed to squeeze a dessert in and I had the cheesecake with fruit compote. The nicest cheesecake I’ve ever had. My husband had Greek yoghurt with honey and figs and my son had the chocolate cake with strawberry and ouzo sorbet. Will definitely be going back.
Had a great birthday meal for my mother. Despite being saturday and being full. Service was great, food very good indeed. Recomnend the MEZE menu. Bit like a sampler meal, small portions but about 12 courses. Food did feel authentic, must be a greek chef. Was stuffed by the end. Will be going back.
We had a great family meal here the meze was really lovely lots if dishes to try. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We will be going back

Absolutely beautiful freshly cooked food, we had the Greek Mezze, it was great as you got to sample lots of different Greek dishes, the lady bringing out the food was lovely, friendly & helpfull, explaining which dips complemented the dishes come out! There was lots of food & I felt full to the brim. The gents ordered desserts & I had a sample of the Greek cheesecake, it was divine! Great food, value, quality & service. I will be back �
The interior decore ain’t exactly cutting edge but the food was sooooo good. Friendly service, comfortable, nice vibe in the place - it’s now officially my fav restaurant in Bolton!!! Well recommended
We are regular customers and have never had a bad meal, the staff are friendly and welcoming. They always explain the dishes and which dip goes with what. If i could afford it i would eat there everyday �
Visited here last night, we have not been for years and we hope now to be regular visitors, food was fantastic and service was excellent, really warm and friendly, all dishes explained and extremely tasty. We had the meze which I would always opt for as you get to sample lots of their wonderful dishes. Can’t wait to visit again. Thanks.

This was my first time at Sokrates tonight and I wasn't disappointed. Every mouthful was a taste sensation and I didn't want it to end, especially the aubergine. The waiter even persuaded me to try calamari for the first time and I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere, decor and music was great, the staff were really nice and explained all the dishes that they brought out. I particularly liked the stories behind some of the dishes told by the waiter. It was amazing value and I highly recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely be going back. 5*

It goes to show how great my time was here, in that I forgot to take as many photos as I would've liked as I was so distracted by how good a time I was having.
I have wanted to eat in Sokrates for a long time as my wife has eaten here a few times and couldn't recommend it enough... and now neither can I!
I love Greece, I adore it in fact. The notion that I can go to this lovely little restaurant in the heart of Horwich and get my Greek fix whilst I'm trapped in the confines of the North of England is a real blessing.
The atmosphere and the ambiance of the place is like being in a real Greek taverna with beautiful blue and white walls, lovely string lights across the ceiling and other touches and trinkets straight out of Greece. They even play authentic music.
The service was absolutely lovely. Very polite and smiley and informative. My squad of four was eating the meze, and they explained every dish to us as it was brought out. We even got extras.
And then the food itself. The meze was incredible. No over exaggeration here, the calamari was the best I've ever eaten; and the lemon chicken wings right up there with some of the best wings I've ever eaten. And everything else on top of that was absolutely delicious and we were completely full by the time we had finished. Should add that we also finished with a Greek yoghurt cheesecake too which was a nice light way to cleanse the pallet before leaving.
Sokrates is not a cheap place, and nor should it be. The food was perfectly fairly priced for what we ate, and we left full and satisfied. I will absolutely be going again in the future and I will be eating the meze again and taking more photos.
Fabulous graduation celebration meal for 9 people. Catered beautifully for 2 vegans, 1 vegetarian, 6 regular mezze diners and a nut allergy. The food was hot, fresh and plentiful and well explained and the service was faultless. As one of the vegans I can vouch for the beautiful vegan subs that were made to complement the dishes served alongside the regular mezze ones....Will definitely be back!
Every time we go, the food is always consistently top quality and the service is excellent. We tend to choose the meze but end up too full to test out the Greek yogurt cheesecake, so next time, we will make room.
What a fabulous night. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is outstanding from start to finish. I can definitely recommend the meze followed by the cheesecake with honey and pistachio
First time here and we could not fault a thing … Food was delicious and lovely staff. My partner and I had the Meze, the gentleman explained every dish and made recommendations, also brought an extra bowl of Imam which was delicious !! Also, the lady front of house was really friendly and great sense of humour … new fave restaurant 😁
Great food, probably the best lamb koftas ever! Good service. It's small and popular, so pretty noisy, otherwise I'd have scored it 5 stars.
amazing food it should be classified 5 stars, the staff are so friendly it has a calming atmosphere and you need to try the Greek yogurt cheesecake and the skewers all I want to say is that it is the best food me and my family have tried so far this year and I disagree on the 4.7 stars I think it should be 5 stars 100% I love it and will be coming back soon
