A delightful and most enjoyable evening thanks to everything you would want from a nice meal out. The restaurant was very comfortable, welcoming and cosy. The food excellent, the staff and management gave friendly & professional service. Was a pleasure to have experienced this wonderful pub restaurant.
Very good food, a large selection of Indian dishes, some of which are quite unusual. Expected dishes feature too. One minor criticism, the menu features a chilli icon if hot, none of not. Given some of the dishes were unknown it was a bit of a lottery how hot the dish was.
The beer garden is fairly rudimentary, and it's a shame it's adjacent to a fairly busy main road, but the food was exceptional!
On holiday from Australia and came here with friends and got to experience my first curry in the uk , well let me tell you the food was absolutely fantastic better than anything I've eaten back home . The management and staff are fantastic so helpful and friendly , a very welcoming place 😀 . I would highly recommend this establishment for a meal or at least a pint .
The hen and chicken has a very unusual menu of home cooked pub food and Indian. In our starters and main courses we ordered from both sides of the menu. My friend ordered the crispy prawn starter, which I imagined to be freezer to fryer fare. I plumped instead for the dill salmon steak. Both dishes were exceptional and home made. Mains consisted of the Indian mixed grill and the steak pie with mash. All made with care on the premises. The service was excellent.

A lovely building and atmosphere from the staff. Also an Outdoor heated seating area. I would highly recommend and will look forward to visiting again soon.
It says pub but it is kind of crossed with a curry house. Met some friends, had a bit of curry. The food was quite good however maybe slightly on the expensive side. Drinks were also slightly on the high end. A large coke is £4.50. Having said that the staff were very kind and attentive. I would eat there again!
Visited for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday after visiting earlier in the year.
I can thoroughly recommend Hen & Chicken for a family visit.
The food is beautifully cooked and very tasty, the curries are delicious and the menu literally caters for all tastes, either traditional British or a very extensive Indian selection.
The service is excellent and very attentive and nothing is too much trouble.
I will definitely be returning to Hen & chicken again.

Pub & Indian food - what a great combination! This place still retains a pub atmosphere but serves great Indian food, with some different dishes I haven't had before & a little positive twist on a few I had. It fully deserves it's great reputation.
Really great venue lovely food and quick service. So nice to have a waitress who is on the ball and looks like she enjoys her job. Only possible issue is if windows are open possible smokers sat just outside could get some smoke smell coming into the eating area.
Absolutely fantastic food ...birthday lunch for mum ...super hot plates. Great service . Food was absolutely delicious.. couldn't fault it
