I've been to the swan many times now . in the afternoon but mostly for a meal in the evening with friends . I must say they serve the best food I've ever had in a pub . The staff are wonderful , always helpful and very friendly . My wife and myself only live in the next village but rate the swan much much better than the windmill .
Stopped in on the way home from Hunstanton, very impressed! Friendly staff, quick service, good menu & great food! Highly recommend the 'steak & ale' pie & the beef burger!
Very nice place to stay , staff friendly and very helpful
Few minutes drive from where I went on the BASC deer stalking scheme hockwold
Good rate for bed and breakfast
See you again in November
Stayed overnight for 2 nights 28/29th July. Fantastic rural location although close to a road wasn’t bothered by the traffic noise. Rooms were perfect size and well presented. Food was amazing especially the chicken and ribs dish where the meat just fell off the bone, also a great selection of ales to choose from. Friendly staff well worth a visit
Great gluten free menu (& normal menu) and the food was cooked perfectly and good portions. We enjoyed our stay, room was very clean, the staff were very helpful special thanks to Paul.
This was our 3rd visit to the Swan. We live in Suffolk so we are quite a distance from Hillborough. The food was excellent. I had the steak and ale pie, mash and veg. All were cooked to perfection and a very generous portion. My grandson had the sausages and my husband had gammon. They both enjoyed their meal also. The surroundings are very comfortable and welcoming and the staff very obliging. Will definitely visit agan.
After living in Swaffham for 3 years, we had never visited The Swan even after it being recommended to us as a brilliant pub catering for Coeliac's. I have been diagnosed as Coeliac since I was born and I'm now 26. We phoned to book a table which was dealt with brilliantly. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely tall blonde girl who was so polite and a gentlemen who was just as helpful. I was given the gluten free menu and I couldn't believe my eyes! So much to choose from - 2 A4 sides. Will definitely be back for more... oh and the rhubarb and ginger gin! Thank you so much
Lovely food at reasonable prices and a friendly atmosphere in this dog friendly pub. We stayed for 2 nights in one of their spacious suites, ate here both nights and had breakfast one morning. Couldn't fault either the room or the pub. A lovely break.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. We all had carvery and desserts. I have coeliac disease and their Gluten free menu is the best I have ever seen! 2 sides of A4 inc starters and desserts.
Need to go back and work my way through it now
Amazing place, myself and my husband came for lunch today and we couldn't fault the place. The food was perfect and the menu for coeliacs was brilliant. Best meal ever. We will be back again. Thank you from Caroline and Paul.
We stayed one night and it was excellent the food the room everything they made you feel very welcome definitely would recommend
The food was fantastic, taste and portion size and a lovely building with really nice staff. Will definitely be going back there again. Proper stuffed and loving it.
Called in for a bite to eat and a glass of wine, staff always welcoming, food always tasty the wine was nice to!
Great, atmospheric, rural pub with friendly staff and hearty food. Worth a stop.
We popped in on the off chance of getting a table and they very kindly made a table ready for us. Friendly waiting staff and the desserts are gorgeous - sticky toffee pudding and custard delicious.
Great place to stay over, rooms lovely, staff friendly and helpful, and food outstanding
We had a lovely meal cooked perfectly and we didn't have to wait to long for it to arrive. Lovely friendly atmosphere. We will be going again.
Great place for a family meal. A great range of dishes on offer and excellent service. Recommend a visit.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great pub and they have overnight accommodations to rent.
Thank you for catering so well with Coeliac dishes and your new lady who served us was excellent!
Called in for lunch on Good Friday. It was very busy but staff were friendly and welcoming as always. Food was delicious and despite it being busy, didn't have to wait.
Always a great night. We are regular visitors once a month and have always had a great meal.. lovely setting.
Great food, comfortable room and very friendly, helpful staff.
Amazing gluten free food, excellent service.
Fab meals mid week and carvery on sundays and now breakfast too , excellent value for money and quality good too , well done , look forward to more
Lovely roast dinner to end a fab hen party...I had the pork... tender meat absolutely delish and great Yorkshire puds! What more could you ask for? Cauliflower cheese? It was there! Lush! I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert - was good, but not as amazing as the main. Staff very friendly 🥰

Only came in for coffee on this occasion, however, it was a lovely river location venue serving what looked like great meals.
I look forward to visiting and doing a greater in depth review
Welcome when we came in, friendliness and politeness of waitress and waiter. We did have to wait for our drinks which we ordered while waiting for our friends to arrive. But didn't spoil our evening, food great, atmosphere great. Good value.
Wonderful meal at the Swan Inn. We were a large party of 10 ranging in age from 7-90 years old. We were made to feel very welcome by Jo and Lily who were absolutely fantastic, very attentive and wonderful with the children in our party. Food was served delicious and hot and the atmosphere was relaxed and happy. We would not hesitate in recommending and returning again in the future.
We only stopped at the Swan Inn for a drink but it was a lovely dog friendly pub!
The views out to the river are beautiful. I bet in the summer it’s amazing to sit outside.
If we are back in the area we will definitely stop by for dinner next time!
Huge pub, also has plenty of outdoor seating, in a stunning location.
River front, although they have no mooring at present. There is some limited local free mooring but you need to be early or lucky to get a place.
It's a lovely historic building, well looked after, with local parking. Breakfast is good, service friendly, shame about the lack of Ales.
The Swan inn is situated in a lovely stunning location on the broads. It has beautiful views across the water and it has many historical features. There is a car park located next to the pub. It is cozy inside, lovely lit with wonderful beams. When we arrived, we had travelled over 2 hours in the dark with terrible lashing rain. We received a warm welcome on our arrival. Our hosts could not of been nicer. The food was very good, there were a couple of vegetarian choices which was good to see. All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, very cozy and warm with tea/coffee making facilities. It was a great Birthday celebration in wonderful surroundings. My only criticism was the bed.The mattress was very hard indeed and neither of us slept very well. I have chronic Arthritis and as the mattress had no give, found it very difficult to get comfy.
A nice pub right on the broads. We only had drinks here but it's got a lovely garden and fantastic indoor decor. Both the drinks were lovely and around £3 each or so. We had a boat so we moored up outside. The moorings are for customers only which seems reasonable.
The member of staff that served us was a little bit snappy and sassy. We weren't really waiting to order yet, just standing back from the bar looking at the menu, firmly in relaxed broads-mode when she asked curtly "inside or outside?" and when we said we'd not decided yet it was obvious from her face that irritated her considerably.
Very enjoyable visit and pleasant meals the staff were very attentive making for a good night out thank you

Went twice during a stay in Horning. Fantastic service by all the staff. When we went the second time, they recognised us and moved us to a different table from the first time to one with a view of the broads outside which we appreciated greatly. Catered for my fiancée's nut allergy. Food was spectacular and couldn't recommend a meal if you are in the area any more highly. Thank you
Food lovely, staff very welcoming & polite. The young lad who served us especially! Food came out in good time even though we were told it may be 30mins as there was a large table before us. Would highly recommend
We found the setting lovely, the restaurant felt very cosy and set out very well. We were welcomed in a friendly way and sat at our preferred table. The service was fantastic and the food was lovely. We had a lovely evening and can’t wait to come again.
Haven't been to The Swan Inn for many year's, booked for a lunch time meal, got a table by the window over looking the river, lovely setting.
Decided to have the Hunters Chicken Schnitzel, done slightly different to which I have had in the past else where, could have had more cheese melted on top, otherwise everything was good.
I wish there were an option for 6 stars! One of the nicest meals I've had in a pub-type restaurant.
The pub itself is beautiful, views of the river, nice spacious tables, warm atmosphere (helped by lovely log fire during a very cold day!) and great service, the staff were all really lovely.
The food is just fantastic, was not expecting this when we ordered but it was all fresh made, utterly delicious and like eating the equivalent of a very warm hug! The slow cooked beef and porcini borguignon was rich, melt in the mouth and the dumpling was a fluffy thing of beauty.
Highly recommended and wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!
