With the moving of our boat we have a new local. On a chilly spring afternoon it was lovely to walk into an open fire crackling away. A warm welcome came along with the fire. Grad a quick lunch which arrived just as quick. Food as very tasty. Nice to see they don't scrimp on the condiments. Looking forward to a summer of meals and drinks with friends and family at the Ferry Inn.
Riverside pub. Great place for kids with arcade area, outside pool table..... keeps them occupied for more relaxing. Haven't tried the food. Lots of birds are about to keep you entertained, but try not to feed them too much (not great for them).
Good beers and kids drinks.
You can moor your boat right outside as well. There is a charge for overnight, I think.
Great pub serving typical pub grub. Right on the river Bure with plenty of tables outside and big inside. Friendly clientel and live music some nights, you can sit either near or far from the band so it suits all tastes. The Pork Tomahawk on special was the best I've ever had, and at £22 with a garlic mash and green beans was a bargain considering I'm used to London prices. This would have been in the region of £45 in the West End. Cant fault staff or venue.
Go for more than just food! Visited on boxing day so the menu was limited. Located at the gateway to the Norfolk broads , this was a convenient pit stop on our way to see the seals at the Horsey gap. The staff were friendly and polite .
I am sure that this is a 5 star place on a normal day and in the summer .
Ample parking space and waterfront location makes this family friendly place special for locals and tourists alike
The friendliest place we've found on the broads. £20 to Moor overnight, but this is then taken off an evening meal. From the lovely Gus helping us Moore our boat (need L plates for this thing) to the very friendly Izzy who served us. The food was lovely, and as it got colder, they allowed us to take the children's pudding onto the boat and return the plates in the morning. Will definitely Moor here again when we do our next boating holiday.
Returned a second year, and still not disappointed!!! Gus was on his day off, but was still about the bar having a few drinks and sharing tips of where to go next, and the lovely Helen behind the bar was very helpful and friendly! Girls love the arcade and outside play area! #somethingforeveryone
As we were staying in Horning we stopped at The Ferry Inn as it was within walking distance of our accommodation.
The pub is dog friendly which was a bonus for us - our dog enjoyed the attention he was getting from the staff.
The menu had plenty of choice! The food we had was really nice!
If we’re are ever back in the area we will definitely be going back to the pub again!
Lovely location by the river, you can sit and watch the boats passing by. They helped us with mooring. Nice flowers outside, like in good old times. Slightly less impressive inside, more like a diner than a pub. We had roast meat and somehow the beef and the gammon were a bit tasteless although they looked good. The trimmings were ok. On the whole the food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t excellent either.
Great food, great selection of beers gins and wines. The food was great, hot tasty and we dealt great value for money. If you need a mooring for a boat there is always someone trying to fit boats in for the pub and they will do what they can to get you in. We will definitely be back
Situated on the river to the edge of town. Adequate car parking and moorings. Overnight mooring is £20 but taken off the cost of your meal, so a no brainer.
They are recovering from a flood so whilst uncarpeted atmosphere is very good. There is an amusement arcade at the far end so great for those that want it but not intrusive to those that don't.
Staff are welcoming with good sense of humours and welcoming of children and dogs.
Plenty of varied seating indoors and out
Food is good, varied and reasonably priced.
Ales are the best choice and quality in town, well kept and served. Directors and Juice Rocket were superb.
If your cruising the river this is a must stop either for a meal or overnight.
Really good traditional carvery. Generous portions and a wide variety of veg. The gravy is also excellent! Would go again 100% The staff are also friendly and welcoming. Thank you!
The Ferry Inn of Horning is located at Ferry Rd, Norwich NR12 8PS. This pub is the main scenic landmark for sailing boats from Wroxham piers. Excellent outdoor seating area facing along with the river. It's a chill place for you to enjoy food and drink. Highly recommended to walk around here.
One of our food was delayed due to the computer error not printing out to the kitchen. The servers (or the manager at the time) was really apologitic and gave us a courtesy drinks for the wait. (we could have the whole bill cancelled but we said no). As they're been very polite and apologized over it all. So a 5 star for their service, what a lucky place to have such a good staff.
Lovely pub / restaurant by the river.
Family friendly, food served, good selection of drinks.
Great place to stop. Only had a sandwich. A steak and caramelised onion and chicken club both freshly prepared and well presented. Plus free moorings brilliant...
Nice staff. Nachos were the bomb, the cheese beef burger was truly delicious although I overestimated how much I could fit in my stomach in one sitting.
Absolutely beautiful day spent here. Feeding the ducks(bird food available at the bar). Had a meal which was first class. Shame it was our last day in Norfolk, i would have repeated the visit. Loved it that much.
We called in yesterday lunch time just to check it out for a visit later on in the season, we were not disappointed so stayed for a drink 🥃 and watching the river boats passing it made me feel that we were actually on holiday 😉
Firstly The staff are very friendly and totally efficient.
Secondly The Ale was top notch 🍺
thirdly the location would be hard to better on the Norfolk broads and accessible from the river if on a boat with several mornings and asidtance 👍
All in all 10 out of 10 and we can’t wait to go back and what looks like delicious 😋 food .
Foot note regarding disabled Access :
I noticed very limited blue badge bays in-fact only one sadly but a big car park .
Access is good as it has a very large external river side patio with full access to tables and sun umbrellas.
Also you can enter the main building with little or no restraints.
Lovely place. Food very good. Their carvery is second to none! The liver and bacon very good. Today 2.12.2017, the pub is decorated for Christmas, it's so classy, it's magical. I'd love to have Christmas day in that setting. Staff all very pleasant. Highly recommended. Disabled parking and toilet.
