Honestly one of the best local Indian restaurants I’ve eaten at. Open late on weekends and serves great food and the staff are excellent! Highly recommend!

I love this restaurant! I have been going to this restaurant since about 1998, in all that time it has never changed one bit and it retains all the things that I love about "going out for an Indian" right down to the tinny Indian music! Jamal keeps this place running like a Swiss watch, it is always clean, warm and welcoming and the food is truly wonderful! I moved away from the area in 2015 and the thing I miss most about living there is this restaurant and that goes for my whole family too! My favourite dish is Madras from the Bengal and I have not found anywhere that can match it. All the food is cooked with fresh ingredients and to your preference. When you get to know Jamal he often very kindly gives his regulars a free drink which I have not found to happen anywhere else. Jamal is a family man and loves talking about his family and is always interested in what is happening in your life. All my kids have grown up going to The Taste of Bengal and love going there and so do I! This restaurant is a wonderful place to go and enjoy life and great food!

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and have always had a great meal. Good description on the menu and reasonable pricing which doesn't seem to have changed for at least 10 years, neither have the portions sizes! If you have any requests, from extra mint sauce with your poppadoms, or think a side dish isn't quite right, there will be no hesitation to please. The same guy has owned the place for over 30 years and knows what he is doing. I hope this place exists when I have children so they can get into indian food from the same place I did.

First time I have been able to visit here for a few years. One of the staff recognised me after all this time and made me feel welcome. Menu choice is very good and the food I had (shame kebab then chicken jalfrazi) was good. Definitely worth a visit

Been visiting here since the 80’s & as a lot of people point out it’s very dated. Most of the food was great but chicken madras was a little bland. All in all a 8/10.

Never been there before tonight, fantastic meal and good service. Reasonably priced. Don't often leave reviews but this was worth mentioning.

Had a takeaway from here this evening and it was exceptional, this place is as good as it has always been. The staff have been there for many many years and they will go over and above to help.

Been visiting this Indian for approximately 25 years. Hasn't changed but that's a good thing.

Best authentic curry house around, good friendly service and always give their regular customers a free drink at the end of the meal. I have been going there for over 20 years because I can't find a curry house to beat their Madras curry but actually the whole menu is fantastic!

Dealt efficiently with a party of 11. The plain poppadoms tasted of stale oil, but the pickles were fresh. The main meals were tasty, especially the duck tikka dhakshwari, a mild creamy Bengali dish in which the duck tasted of duck!
