I absolutely love this place!! The service is amazing, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing... literally everything Is amazing. I cannot fail one thing. The food is so reasonably priced and so worth it. I have coeliac disease meaning I have to be on a gluten free diet and this place does not fail me. Wish I could give 100 stars instead of 5!! Every time my boyfriend comes to England from abroad, he specifically mentions that he wants to have lunch here Will post food pics in the comments. Thank you Xich Lo!

Such a lovely place, quiet and out of the hustle and bustle of Hornchurch h High Street. Great selection of food and the Jasmine tea is refreshing. Very friendly staff no matter the time of day or night. I would highly recommend

Legitly the best Vietnamese iced coffee you can find in the UK. It was such a sunny day when we came so we sat outside. The fried spring rolls were huge & tasty and the hu tieu noodles were a perfectly generous portion. Will be back for my fix every time I'm down in London!

Booked a table for 17 people at 7pm on Saturday and pre-ordered our starters and mains. Xich Lo were incredibly organised and every single order was correct and arrived in a short time. We all tried different dishes and everyone said the food was incredible (and at such an affordable price!) Would 100% recommend and I’ll definitely be returning. Thanks for a great evening!

I had an excellent meal with my family yesterday. Noodle soups were so tasty and the bahm mi was delicious. The waitress was really lovely and gave us such good customer service. I was really impressed with her, an excellent addition of your team.

Tried Xich Lo for the first time and enjoyed the hearty food and drink. The papaya salad was tasty and the homemade lemonade with ginger was good. The bubble tea was a hit with my kid. Really good. We'll go back again.

First time at this place and boy let me tell you it hit the spot! We went with the starters they recommended the Ga Xao Sa Ot and Vietnamese Style Fried Spare Ribs and had the Banh Mi with extra crispy pork and the Bun Thit Nuong, it was fantastic. Genielle and the daughter of the place severed us together and both were so nice. I don't leave many reviews but when I do, it's because it's worth it.

Glad to see that it is reopening and saw the doors open a day early so snuck in to have a quick lunch. Missed the place and had a lovely Banh Mi today, so fresh and tasty. Complimented with a smoothie. Welcome back Xich Lo

UPDATE still go to this place, prices have gone up but still worth it. For two people £34 for starter platter, main and a drink. Homemade lemon/lime drink is good and so is the spring rolls. The bubble tea is not great so I'll steer clear from those. 5 stars because of the value for money. I was very impressed with the quality of the meats and food. It is a cafe not a restaurant and it should be seen as a cafe. We ordered 3 dishes which was more than enough for 2 people. I can understand why people say there is no flavour, however vietnamese food is based on freshness and delicacy. The spring rolls have plenty of flavour and I often have dreams about eating them. Plenty of chili and condiments available. You have gained a loyal customer, going every week as it is very healthy homecooked food.

I'm so glad Xich Lô has re-opened. The vegan options are delicious. The spring rolls are better than I've had anywhere else. Also the tofu is unreal. The staff are friendly and attentive. We will be back soon :)

I came here first time with my wife and brought a friend along to try it out which was recommended by words of mouth. The place is nicely done got a bit of oriental style and had some old furniture looking. The food taste very nice and not too pricey at all. My wife like it very much and surprisingly my friend like it very much because she is a fussy eater.

"insanely good" my miserable 14y old brother who normally hates everything! (He got the sticky wings) The new menu is amazing and the service is friendly and great! They had tasty deserts from the patisserie next door

Great vibe (seems family run but not sure), and food was fantastic + affordable. Portions were plenty too. Would definitely recommend the bao buns, skewers, or fresh summer rolls for starters. I had prawn bao bun, chicken skewers (it's served with a delicious peanut sauce), and prawn summer rolls. For a main I had the Com Thịt Nướng Xich Lo (basically rice + all the meats), it was pretty good. Not as great as the starters but was happy nonetheless. We also ordered bubble tea and green tea (which was plenty!)

It was good to support another local restaurant today with a long overdue return to Xichlo for some fabulous Vietnamese food. Xichlo is a lovely friendly little cafe in the heart of Hornchurch town centre. We decided to visit on sunday and received a nice friendly welcome on arrival before being seated. We then looked at the menu to see they serve a nice variety of Vietnamese cuisine from starters , salads , baguettes , noodles , rice , curry & soups. We decided to order as we went along and started with the Taster Starter Meat Platter of grilled pork summer rolls , pork & prawn spring roll & chicken skewers accompanied by three dipping sauces. Each item was delicious and a great way to start. At this time we also ordered a Jasmine Tea and an Apple Bubble Tea which I absolutely loved. We then looked at the menu again and ordered a Crispy Pork Vietnamese Baguette along with a Chicken Green Papaya Salad and some spicy prawn crackers. We were then nicely offered a complimentary coffee so I had an Iced Coffee which was an absolute delight and a Vietnamese Filter Coffee. We next moved on to our main course where we chose a Chicken & Prawn Vietnamese Curry with sweet potatoes , lemongrass & coconut milk. Our other choice was the Pho Tai a Vietnamese Noodle Soup with thinly sliced rare beef steaks , clear rice noodles , fresh herbs and flavoured with a beef broth. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. As they don't serve desserts this rounded off a fabulous lunch. Next time your in town I would highly recommend a visit for either a quick snack or a nice lunch. The food here is amazing with every dish bursting with fantastic Vietnamese flavours and spices. I for one won't be leaving it to long before I return.
