We try to visit whenever passing through the town. Amazing thatched building on the high street. Mind the low ceilings :) Cosy, clean interior with lots of nice beer and pub related items like pump clips and beer mats decorating the bar area. Always seems friendly and good range of Batemans ales on the bar. Enclosed beer garden to the rear. We didn't have food but the pie based menu looks like great value with a filling and level of sides to suit all appetites. Toilets spotless on a daytime visit.

Fantastic little Bateman's pub specialising in beer and pies! Clean, well looked after local pub with a decent selection of real ales, lagers and spirits. Well stocked gin bar too, very impressive. They do a range of hot pies with a choice of gravy, mash and peas. Very good value for money and delicious. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic breath of fresh air! Excellent old fashioned pub with thatched roof. Food choice is: pies and mash/veg etc. Sounds like a limited choice, but it was presented swiftly and perfectly from cheerful friendly staff. We ate outside in the comfortable and attractively decorated beer garden. Both mine and my wife's plate were left clean! And - all washed down with arguably the country's best ale: Bateman's XXXB from the county's brewery at Wainfleet. I had almost abandoned hope of getting a good meal in this country, but this establishment has restored my faith in the hospitality trade. Well done!

Didn't eat here so unable to comment on the food but it was just my kind of pub. Unpretentious and down to earth, there should be more places like this. A reasonably priced pint of the excellent Batesons XB went down very well after a long walk.

Nice friendly thatched pub in the centre of town. Good range of draught beers. You'll need to find a local car park as it is on the main road with no parking in front.

Away with girlfriends for couple of days, called in here to have a drink before we carried on with our retail therapy. A love and very welcoming roaring fire greeted us. Sooo cosy. Had a good old chat with landlady about the pub being haunted, fascinating to talk to. We were made to feel very welcome and definitely wish it was our local. We will return when next in the area!

Been to this cosy little pub many a times with great company. Really nice atmosphere, bar staff very friendly, nice to just sit and have a drink or two having a chat. Small and traditional which I love. You can't miss it either - it's the pink one!!! :)
