So tasty the best fish and chips..
Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The batter was so crispy, and the fish was fresh and moist!
A big portion of homemade handcut chip's.. My partner had the beef and ale pie, which was so full of meat and juicy that it didn't need the gravy! But the gravy was perfect, thick, and full of flavour!
The brownie and cheesecake desserts finished off the meals nicely, they were really big portions with tasty ice cream!
The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was a friendly, cosy, comfy, and a quiet pub in a lovely remote country location! A great find!

We stayed at the caravan site for 5 nights Lovely little site very peaceful. We had two meals at the pub. The food is delicious and we highly recommend the cow pie. Jacqui and Kerri were the perfect hosts. We would definitely return if we were in the area again
I think this was the best pub lunch I've eaten in years. I had the ox pie based on other reviews and wasn't disappointed. It was huge and the hand cooked chips were amazing. My wife had the fish and chips. The batter was so light and tasty (I snaffled a bit) highly recommended - best to book as it was busy!
Have never been to this pub before as recently moved to Horncastle and we have devised a list of all the pubs to visit. We have visited a few since moving, but this far outweighs the others. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and the DO catered for all my needs, the dishes for both needs were amazing. Food normally is bland and poorly presented, but not in this case, the taste was amazing and presentation was the same as I would expect from a high end restaurant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, that we booked in for the following week with friends. Staff very polite and friendly it was a pleasure being in their company.
I could go on raving about this gem but I will stop, but it won't be our last visit that's for sure.
Called in last night had a superb meal. The meat pie was amazing & absolutely full of flavour & meat. Gammon was also very tasty & lovely chips, brown & salty. Absolutely delicious. Thank you for fitting us in at short notice. We will be back !! ππ
What an absolutely great place. Excellent food and great service. One of the best places we've eaten in for a long time.
Stayed on site and n my motorhome. Had food and drinks in the bar and restaurant. 10% discount on food. The best thing is they gave the discount without needing to ask as we were staying on site. Food was excellent. Would recommend the cow pie. Home made by the lovely ladies on site. I have never had a pie with so much beef inside. Clean pub and site. Nothing too much trouble for our friendly hosts. Good value on a lovely site. Five star service.
Lovely country pub and great Sunday lunch. Staff were welcoming. Lots of space around tables. A little disappointed they couldn't add 2 more diners to our table for at last minute, but they were fully booked! Plenty of Gluten Free options π
