Really nice pub with a great beer garden, very good prices. Only had drinks after my walk as needed the hydration on the hot day. There are horses just next door, and chickens roam around 😊. The staff were really nice and friendly, making sure to have a little talk with every visitor, very helpful.

We had Fish & Chips and Sea Bass fillets - did not expect much - but as you can see, no pictures of the food - it was too good we just devoured it! Absolute perfection. The staff was so nice and helpful, very welcoming! I'd recommend booking in advance.

Came here for lunch while out on the Peak District. Great location, the inn itself is well kept and the inside takes you back hundred years in the past. I really loved all the ambients. It was a great day so despite all the above we decided to eat outside in the garden and got to say, the food was amazing too. We were entertained from one of their roosters which was coming around our feet to mop up all our extra breadcrumbs. Was very cute. Definitely suggested.

We made a last minute booking at this lovely inn. And we had a wonderful stay. Super friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere, so cozy. The room was clean and looked cute, comfortable bed and a good shower. Just everything you need. And at last: the food was really good! Definitely recommend this place

We came here after seeing the huge vegan options available. We were staying in Castleton but decided to eat at the Cheshire Cheese after Googling vegan food locally. The location is lovely, the food was great but the staff really made it special. We live an hour away in Belper, Derbyshire but would make the journey just to visit again. Perfect afternoon.

Stopped here on a walking weekend up Mam Tor. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. The rear pub garden has plenty of space and overflows onto the field if you need some space. Food was also reasonable price and tasty. We had fish and chips and Lamb and all of it was well prepared and tasty.

We stopped here during our visit to the Peaks. The staff were super friendly and very welcoming. They have a great range of vegetarian and vegan food and it’s all cooked fresh. The Chocolate fudge cake was divine!

The best Sunday roast dinner we have ever had in a pub. Locally sourced meats were delicious, the gravy was to die for and homemade yorkshire puds with lots of veg. The staff were friendly and helpful, what's not to love!

Really enjoyed our visit friendly staff and a real rural pub, loved the local guys to talk too who obviously get outnumbered by visitors and on a bank holiday weekend. Food and drinks are outstanding and not many walkins will get a seat, best to book a table.

Brilliant pub! Excellent quality beer - Bradfield brewery Farmar's Blonde. Cracking beer at a good price. Cheese sandwich was brilliant. Crisps, coleslaw and salad accompanying. Excellent friendly service. Sat in the sun in the beer garden and made a furry friend! A veryfriendly cat. 🐈

My husband and I stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday weekend. It was the cutest place and perfectly located for our hikes the next day. The owners were super welcoming and even gave us some great advice for our stay! I would advise anyone to stay here and would happily return.

An absolutely stunning pub, so warm, great service, friendly staff, huge delicious portions! Try to save room for the sticky toffee pudding, it was delicious and so was our Sunday roast. We loved the traditional interior and great lagers on tap. Couldn't recommend more!
