I went here to meet a friend for a birthday meal. The bar area is a little dark but there was a pleasant welcome and the staff were charming and friendly. We sat in the beer garden to eat. I noted that there's a big sign saying dog friendly. It was certainly family friendly too which was very nice to see.
There was an app for ordering from ones phone which I found a little impersonal. However my young friend did the ordering and we both chose the Cajun salmon. Often salmon is either slightly too undercooked or dry. This was not. It was fresh and cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice to lift the flavour without overpowering the fish. The hint of garlic and the bed of beautifully cooked peppers, onions, and courgettes complimented it beautifully. The accompanying sweet potato fries were crisp, light and very tasty.
The apple and blackberry crumble I had for dessert was tart and refreshing with a delicious sweet buttery crumble topping with ice-cream and a little jug of custard. The portion sizes are generous and the prices extremely reasonable. The only downside was I was too full to finish the crumble. I can thoroughly recommend.
Took my toddler for lunch today, was beautiful food. Restaurant area is a little dark, but otherwise I can't fault the place. Food and service were spot on

Booked for a group of seven for my husbands birthday and to celebrate mothers day. Staff are wonderful, lovely atmospheric pub and the food is amazing. I ordered the sirloin and swapped the boiled vegetables and for roasted vegetables, all cooked to perfection. I will definitely be going back.

Lovely old 15th century Inn. Good beer selection and excellent choice of meals. Nice sized sunny beer garden. Very friendly staff. Hotel accommodation at the back of the pub.
Very cool pub, been around a long time. Good local atmosphere, when I was in they were having an issue with their ales, but the Guinness was good. Big screen for the sport
We had a nice room, clean and comfortable. We appreciated the quietness and also the bed which was comfy enough to get a good sleep!
Great free parking pass ( please go spend your money on in the pub). Wonderful people, very friendly and helpful.

Lovely stay, room was clean. Lovely friendly team of staff who were so helpful. Enjoyed and dinner, breakfast was excellent value st £6.30 for everything you could ask for. Will definitely be back.
A traditional pub with beams, quirky smaller rooms and a lovely old feel to it. We were really impressed with the meal and the service. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and the food was good value. We walked there but there is parking (register your number plate). This is not a trendy modern pub, it has preserved the look and feel of a proper English local, we loved it.
My friend and I spotted this pub and decided to drop in for lunch. We had a chilli con carne jacket potato, a free drink was included for the grand total of £11.96! Great welcome, friendly staff and great value for money. We will come back just to have another go at solving the fun riddle.
Although the usual chef was off, and the manager was cooking, the steak and king prawns we had was excellent, cooked to perfection. The bar and waiting staff were friendly and helpful.
