Another tasty meal at The George. Everything was right, the welcome, the service and of course the meal. A menu that is not too large nor too frilly, it's different enough to try new tastes without being pompous or silly. It stays close to the traditional but with that little edge - thank you chef.

We dropped in on our way to the Carters Steam Fair. Ordered drinks and quick bite and a sausage for our dog Obi. You outdid yourselves in the way the sausage was presented... Neatly cut up and arranged in a wee dish!! Even though you guys were very busy and our order wasn't huge.... Your attention to detail was impressive!! Thank you, Marian, David and Obi xx

Just lovely. No two ways about it. Great lunch and a visit to my table from Sean so we could discuss the triumph that is his bread sauce. A truly lovely place. Can’t wait to go back and eat some more of the amazing food.

We came here as a bit of a last-minute decision and glad we did. It's only just up the road but not been here for years. We had a wonderful welcoming, and the service throughout our stay was great. There's a good choice on the menu, and prices were pretty good. Our meals came quickly and we're absolutely delicious. The desserts were also beautiful. I'm definitely going to be back!

Just managed to catch lunchtime last orders when we visited. Updated and extended interior with a nice selection of beers. Food menu looked good with plenty of internal seating. Two smallish outdoor areas. Friendly staff.

Came here for lunch on a Friday with our walking group. The place is obviously very popular, but they could accommodate 17 of us. Service was good, despite the fact we only had sandwiches and chips (both of which were very good). Had to pay a £10 per person booking deposit, which 3 of our members lost because they couldn't make it. Seems a bit much for a sandwich!

What an amazing place to be, Excellent staff, a wonderful service, delicious food and tasty drinks 🍻 Just relax and enjoy! Loved the Calves Liver from the menu, although would have preferred it with mushrooms instead of smoked bacon. Thank you xxx

What a discover. I mean… it’s an historic place to visit. it’s a 16th century pub! The old man waiter was incredibly lovely with us, but above all with my baby girl. I was there with my hubby and my 3yo girl 2 times. The place it’s incredibly comfy and warmy, specially in rainy days. They have a good wine selection and terrific home made food. I’m a mushroom soup lover, and they serve a good one there. BUT the golden pass goes to the ciabatta with sundried tomatoes and basil butter served with roasted garlic. It’s a must have you need to try. Trust me. PS MOMS: kids menu, high chair, toys, colors and books are availables 😜♥️

We randomly stopped here on our travels for a quick tea and to use the toilet and we loved it and ended up staying for a couple of hours and getting a roast! It was lovely. Special shout out to Polly who looked after us and was super friendly. We hope to come back one day :)

Pleasant 'Local' pub in Holyport. Staff nice; full of friendly locals... food looked great - so tempted to come back again for a pub lunch! Bit limited with what's on tap, and mind you don't bang your head walking about... but otherwise, nice pub! RECOMMEND.

I would like to express my gratitude to Inder for making us feel so welcome in his pub. As newcomers to the area, we booked a table for 20 people and were impressed with the way he handled our request. His friendly approach and manner, along with the great food and atmosphere, encouraged us to return, which we did again yesterday. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Inder. Sincerely, Zoe and Richard.

Perched on the end of Holyport green The George is in a great location. The interior is tastefully decorated in a modern style while still keeping the feel of a village pub. The staff were friendly and polite and very prompt with their service. They have a nice beer garden around the side of the pub and enjoyed a nice ale and simple chicken pate lunch. The chicken pate was very tasty and accompanying bread was freshly toasted and still warm. It was a lovely lunch under the sun and I’ll definitely be back to sample other dishes from a varied and tasty looking menu.
