I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Standing Stones restaurant, and I must say that our server, Harrison, was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home.
Harrison's attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were impressive. He patiently answered all of our questions and provided helpful recommendations based on our preferences. His enthusiasm for the food was contagious, and it definitely enhanced our dining experience.
Throughout the meal, Harrison ensured that we had everything we needed. He was prompt in taking our orders and kept an eye on our table to make sure our glasses were never empty. Despite the restaurant being busy, he managed to make us feel like we were his top priority.
What stood out the most about Harrison was his genuine care and friendliness. He engaged in pleasant conversations, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. It was evident that he genuinely enjoyed his job and took pride in providing excellent service.
Overall, our experience at the Standing Stones was made even more enjoyable because of Harrison's exceptional service. He went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was memorable. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and hoping to have Harrison as your server.
Great visit. Online ordering was good, although some products from the paper menu were missing from online (fudge cake not being on menu… caused kids tears at our table). Service was fast, friendly and efficient.
Super Mixed Grill was the winning dish! Fabulous!
Used to have reservations about coming to standing stones as previous visits haven’t been the best! However over the last 1-2 years, it has improved drastically! The environment feels a lot nicer, and the food is more accurate! There are some good options on the menu too however, It would be lovely if they could add some more vegetarian options.. more simplistic options.
Reviewed Standing Stones on Tripadvisor after a recent visit, but went back today and once again everything was excellent.
Dawn doing the Bar and service was fantastic as usual, and the dishes we were served were excellent, and we were told John was preparing the food, and he is clearly doing a great job.

Apart from the fact that the interior of the pub is a bit tired we found the staff to be very professional and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was very good and the portions fair.

It was easy to book online and when we arrived all the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. The food was served quickly and was very tasty and hot. We were asked if everything was fine, which it was and even asked if we needed water for our dog.

Service is always good and the food is enjoyable. My mum has mobility issues so we bring her here as she can easily reach the tables.
The tables can be quite sticky to touch - it would be advisable to review your cleaning products!
Overall the experience was very good and the staff are very helpful. The amount of staff is minimal and it can be quite a long wait before you can order. Also the removal of the facility to have tab and therefore the necessity to make multiple payments was a major inconvenience. This resulted in a loss to yourselves as normally we would have more drinks and sweets etc and just one bill. As a result we never returned to add anything. However my bill was much smaller than normal!!
Had the nicest meal and service of any place I've been . The staff were so polite and helpful in every way . When we ordered the meal we were asked of anyone had any allergies and how would like my steak cooked . All our meals were so nice . We will definitely be back in October. A really big Thank you to all the staff .

Lovely greeting when my party of 8 arrived to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday. Bar staff were both friendly and efficient. Food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone in my party. Waiting on staff went above and beyond even as far as singing Happy birthday to my daughter when they brought out her cake. Overall Excellent Evening. Thankyou. Would and will highly recommend to my friends and family A++++
Had a great birthday/ anniversary meal. Food was great, as was the service. Plenty of atmosphere and busy. Also good value for money.
A lovely atmosphere ,Attentive and kind Staff went out of their way to make the afternoon most enjoyable. Food was well cooked and good quality.
Just eaten here, 8 of us had a variety of meals Inc Sunday roast, mixed grill, starter and desserts.
We didn't book, but the lovely lady accommodated us all and our dog and the staff were friendly.
Would definitely visit again.

Overall experience was good. The staff were pleasant and polite, and they were really on top of the cleaning.
Food wise, I thought the portions were on the small side. And my chips were definitely not freshly cooked, they felt like they had been put back in the fryer to warm them through. I did eat most of it, but then I was starving. I would visit again, so hopefully next time the food is bang on 👌
We always visit the Standing Stones a number of times on our 2 week holiday every year. This year we have been extremely happy with our experiences. Staff are friendly and welcoming to us and our 2 spaniels. The food is good and the choice available is excellent too. Sadly our Holiday is nearly over now for another year but we will be back next year

Went here today with my partner for a meal as we were in the area. My partner has an egg allergy, so we are quite aware when ordering food out. I asked the server if their Lasagne contained Egg, (many in these types of eateries don't, as its made with dried pasta as opposed to fresh), to be told 'I'd expect so, as its pasta'. So my partner chose the sausage and mash, and I had Lasagne with chips, and a garlic bread pizza. The service was quick and efficient, and food did not take very long to come. When it arrived, the garlic bread was shocking. Upon returning the garlic bread, the manager/supervisor dealt with it very quickly, replaced it, and couldn't apologise enough. He was also very apologetic regarding the lack of knowledge and checking of the egg issue with the Lasagne.
On a whole, the food was OK, nothing to write home about, but in no way offensive. The restaurant was clean, tidy, and well presented, but again, it doesn't make me think 'I must return here!!'
The one saving grace from this pretty unmoving, and unremarkable experience, is how the manager dealt with the issues we had, he was very attentive and apologetic and is a credit to the business, and without his dealings, I'd have probably given this venue 2 starts as opposed to 4.
So to sum up, the venue, despite being clean and tidy, was just nothing special, the food was OK, what you'd expect from a pub like this to be honest, and the service was an acceptable standard. The manager/supervisor made this experience for me, because everything else was pretty standard.
Would I return??? I highly doubt I'd go out of my way to return here, but I wouldn't 'avoid it like the plague' if I was in the area and hungry again.
I've eaten in lot worse places, but I've also had better experiences in similar style places.
