What a lovely place!! Great outside seating. Wonderful atmosphere. Lovely coffee and dog friendly. Perfect. Really enjoyed my little stop off herez the food looks amazing too! Will definitely be back!
A lucky find from all the choice in Holt. There is a shop next to the restaurant which sells loads of lovely stuff. We had the Beef and Ale pie with fries and slaw. There was a 30 minute wait for the pies but definitely worth the wait. Piping hot, lovely gravy, crispy pastry and really tender beef. The staff were really friendly and you didn't feel rushed. Extra points for the 80s music!
The best shop in Holt by far. Lovely friendly and knowledgeable staff. You MUST try the truffle pecorino cheese it’s to die for. Brilliant to-go coffee and a fab selection of wine and other goods priced fairly. Need to pop back for a cheese and wine dinner! 10/10

We had a wonderful lunch as a group of four, sampling pretty much everything on the tapas menu. It was all exceptionally good! Brilliant quality of produce, great menu and presentation, topped off with fantastic service! We would absolutely return if we’re in the area again - thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

Wonderful service with excellent coffee (not that bitter cheap stuff). We had full cream latte's with those nice froth swirls on top. The menu looked appetising but we weren't hungry at the time.
Can't comment on the wine and cheese but it all looked great.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious. Especially liked the Gruyère and Prosciutto toastie, home made croquettes, the pear with burrata and the truffle fries. Lovely wines by the glass. If you visit Holt this is the place to come. Also great cheese and food shop. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back next visit.
Booked in for dinner and all the choices on offer looked tempting. In the end went for the salami pizza. It was delicious with a very intriguing flavour that I just couldn’t place, but would have again in a heartbeat. Staff were super friendly. Highly recommend.
AMAZING STORE!! If you like VERY good cheese and juicy natural wines then do yourself a favor and go visit! Great customer service too, the staff are clued up about all of their produce and offer lots of help in selecting the best bits for you -10/10 - can’t wait to go back.
I knew this was going to be a good place to eat when I walked into the entrance and saw a poster of the Clash greeting me. At this point you know the owner is going to be a cool, fair and have impeccable taste in music.
Went to lunch today with my wife. Had a wonderful glass of wine and a near perfect blue cheese toastie.
The chips themselves were 'okay' (get better ones Id recommend), but the toppings on them were wonderful and made them very very tasty.
Great choice of wines.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Prices are are a bit above average, but fair for the quality. Your in Holt so nowhere is cheap.
Difficult to fault this place.

I've been meaning to get around to posting this for a month or so and usually you'd just forget and move on, but this chic delicatessen/provisions store/modern packaging designer showcase has been a place difficult to forget.
As a first time visitor to Holt, I wasn't expecting to find a provisions store with such an incredible and diverse range of products. Everything seemed to be chosen with care and placed with great thought. Just browsing the store was enjoyable and memorable.
After deciding on what we wanted, we were served by Tracey who was an absolute delight. She was really helpful, had great product knowledge and was really invested in the place she worked. After helping us pick up a few more bits (also a talented saleswoman I may add), we headed off for the rest of our day.
A month on, I still stand by the statement I made at the till, "I'd travel from Leeds any day to head back here". It's a great place to visit and I'd recommend anybody visiting the area head down to check it out.

My wife and I had a fabulous meal last night at Star Plain Stores. It was the first Fondue night Tom and his team had organised. We had our usual warm welcome and we eagerly sat down at our table to study the new wine list as we sampled the three cheeses that were going to be "Fondued" with a very nice caviar pickle.
After a few minutes the Fondue arrived and we duly indulged ourselves in a cheese dipping frenzy, spiking roasted carrots, parsnips, potatoes, sprouts, sourdough bread and a charcuterie meat board into a delicious hot cheese sauce. We ate all that was on offer, drank a lovely bottle of primitivo and finished off with a palate cleansing Morello Cherry Kirsch.
It was lovely evening, great service, and a delicious Fondue meal. Thank you Tom amd team and we look forward to our next meal in your lovely restaurant.
Super place. Excellent menu and well priced. Service a little slow and slightly disorganised but friendly and helpful nevertheless. We’ll be back for sure.
I live in Holt and I went to Star plain stores last night with my family. I am a big cheese lover and I have a lot cheese boards but usually they serve the same cheeses however this cheese board is the best one I've ever had because of the amazing cheeses and how unique it was and without a doubt the best in Norfolk. I also like the generous portion of quince paste. There's a very nice feel in the restaurant area and the staff are very friendly. I definitely recommend it to any cheese lover.
