Reviews The Old Inn

I have known this establishment for many a year and this current manifestation is really it's best. The transformation is significant and the pub has a traditional feel but with some contemporary styling..and offers both options for you to choose depending on your mood. My party had a traditional experience and the service and food did not disappoint. There seems to be plenty of staff and they are all well mannered and customer focussed. The food was good and the whole experience was excellent. I just wish this place was located at the olive branch as it would be perfect in that place in wimborne. I would recommend the Old Inn and would just add that be aware of cost as it is a tad more expensive than most but you will receive good service and quality. Oh and also the toilets are exemplary and we all know what clean toilets mean... So get in the car and visit the old Inn.. It's a lovely place to enjoy decent food.

Turned up on fathers day with no booking so could only sit outside BUT found comfortable comfortable seating . Was able to pick from full menu and had probably the best hamburger and fries l have had for years. Well done Old Inn on one of your busiest days.

Haven't visited this pub for years and wow, what a transformation. Greeted by lovely display of outside Christmas lights & the decorations inside were very tasteful. Lovely real fire inside, which added to the cosy atmosphere. Staff attentive and nice menu choices. Sampled a lovely speciality pie & mash & I wasn't disappointed. Then sampled two scoops from their vast choice of ice creams, which were very flavoursome. Never seen such a choice in a pub! Definitely will be back!

Consistently great - not a one-off that you experience at most restaurants but every time we go it’s a great experience no matter what meal is chosen Coupled with consistently professional and friendly service - loved it again this week

Stopped in for lunch as a party of five with 1 toddler and baby, exceptional service and the food was fantastic. The refurbishment is absolutely wonderful especially the toilets which were superbly clean. No one complained about our noisy daughter and we're happy to welcome her. Definitely one for return visits. Thumbs up!! Oh and the hazelnut brownie was to die for, best I've ever tasted - delicious.

Fantastic chateaubriand with delicious peppercorn sauce accompanied by chips and mixed salad, followed by home made warm Bakewell tart (to die for!) and ice cream. Great service, friendly olde world restaurant /pub we will definitely return.

A lovely pub/restaurant, newly re-opened after a refurbishment. I went there for Sunday lunch with my 12 year old and received a warm welcome. Food and service both excellent. Not the cheapest pub food, but v. good quality, so was happy to pay for it. Highly recommended.

Well done team - from the wonderful reception by the Front of House staff, to the shamrock on the Guinness and sparklingly clean glassware from the Bar Staff, to the delicious food from the Kitchen team. This place truly is the epitome of great hospitality

What a great pub with a varied menu and a great atmosphere. The best but was that they were very accommodating with regards to gluten free food. Always a bit worrying when the menu doesn’t mention it but the staff were excellent at adapting anything to be gluten free. Well worth a visit!

We came on Sunday as we were in the area. I've been here before a few years ago, and remember it was good food and service. Nothing has changed there. Service and food were very good. Dogs are also welcome both inside and out. Pleasant and quite atmosphere. A good selection of alcoholic beverages are available too. Be aware that service charges are added to the bill automatically. I personally have no issue with this, as the service personnel work very hard and antisocial hours to provide guests with an awesome experience. This is not everyone's attitude to tipping though, so be aware of this if you plan to tip as cash (or not at all) Parking is limited at very busy periods.

What a find! Excellent food in a rural, peaceful place and the food is excellent!! Swordfish main was dreamy and though it was unnecessary, choc fondant pud exceptional.

Amazing food and a gorgeous pub. Portion sizes were great. Really good value for money. The waiters were very busy and it was hard to get their attention, but that was a very small issue in an otherwise lovely meal. (Rib tickler burger was incredible!)

Dog friendly. Haven't been here for years. Inside and outside spaces, garden at back, lovely covered, inside/outside area out the front, looked great but opted for inside due to wasp season. Friendly staff, food was homemade and well cooked, very tasty. Helpful about allergies. Was not as busy as it deserved to be on a Friday in the hols. Will definitely visit again.

What a fantastic meal! Best meal we have had since we have been down on holiday in Dorset. The old inn pizza was probably one of the best pizzas I have had outside of Italy. Took all The family tonight including three dogs and we all loved this place. Staff were great and friendly and we were really well looked after, with a good menu choice available. We ate inside but did notice that outside had an eating area which was covered and had heaters if you wanted to eat or drink outside. Just wish this was closer to home as I would be regular. If you are think about eating here just do it, you won’t be disappointed

The place was packed, Saturday evening, we were lucky the get a table without booking. Good selection of food and drink. We had a burger and steak. The burger was very nice but the steak was too salty for my taste.
