Very nice pub in a lovely village. Great selection of drinks and a good menu with food from main meals to sandwiches. We had a few sandwiches and they were really nice, lovely soft bread with plenty of filling. Staff are very friendly. It's a bit of a TARDIS, there are loads of tables inside and a
Lovely rooms sympathetically done in a beautiful town. Staff went above and beyond to ensure that we were looked after. A great breakfast at a local cafe included. The pub has something for everyone - restaurant, something more lively or a quiet zone for a cosy catch up. A great stay was had.
A friend and I went for a meal on Burns night, there was a good choice on the main menu, plus a specials menu that totally enhanced the Burns night experience. When I think of The Kings Head in Holt, "Excellence" is the word that comes to mind, this was my first visit but it definitely won't be my l
Food was very tasty and well presented. Staff could not do enough for you and the pub has lots of room with quirks . We will go back
We popped in the way back to our holiday cottage. We had not booked a table, but the staff were super. Nice table in the bar. Food was very good and great value. A young girl on the adjacent table described her pasta as perfect. I agree it was perfect.
As part of Anglian Country inns, this was the 4th venue we have visited. Each time our meal was very good with friendly staff.
Very impressed, service 1st class, ambience enjoyable and food scrumptious! Definitely will be returning and highly recommend!
Brilliant pub, serving really tasty meals which easily rival other pubs in the area. Can highly recommend the smoked pork belly curry and the Eton Mess. Staff here are great, friendly and knowledgeable on the food and drink that they are serving, plus very patient when our fussiest kid was orderin
Went for drinks. Great beer , friendly atmosphere ๐
Wonderful meal, good availability. We didn't book and the staff were very accommodating. Shaun was in particular very friendly and a brilliant server. My steak was cooked perfectly and my partner enjoyed his meal too
The portions were large and we struggled to finish it all
Lovely, cosy pub with super-friendly staff. Perfect spot for an early evening drink in front of a log fire. Dog friendly. Big portions.
The service is very friendly in pleasant surroundings.
The Merthyr gives the impression that there are chips with everything. Not quite true, but sometimes you have to ask, why chips as well.
I had a ham and tomato sandwich, but you also got a small salad, coleslaw and yes, chips. There is no such t
Can't comment on rooms but v cosy for a weeknight dinner, friendly staff. We had the venison pork burger and venison sausages and mash, delicious and cooked to perfection.
We got a lovely warm welcome from the staff on arrival before being shown to a really comfortable Georgian room with a fabulous bathroom and kitchen area. Food and drink were both excellent and well presented. Highly recommended.
Very friendly staff and simple yet effective menu. Great place for a good night in front of the log fire
Friendly service, bar staff were very helpful. We had a nice drink sat in the bar in very comfy armchairs. Felt very welcome on a rainy day. Set in a lovely little village also
