A very nice chippie, comfortable enough to eat in too but what got me here is the decent vegan choice, really nice to see and my battered sausage and chips were lovely. Good value too, we ordered lots with sides and drink for under £20 for 2 of us, for Holt that's a steal.
Will def return next time in these parts and hopefully these lovely folks will get a vegan Pukka in too 😃

Fantastic fish and chips. My partner is Coeliac and the choice of gluten free options was great! No extra charge for gluten free either. My standard plaice and half portion of chips was super tasty too. 5 stars to the friendly, helpful staff. See you again soon!
We came for Fish 'n Chips, it was very good. We had a short wait while our fish was being fried, it was well worth the wait.
Our food was well cooked, hot and a good sized portion. Very reasonable prices. There is a very extensive menu, Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten free to available. A good selection of drinks, including tea and coffee. There is a discount for the older diner. The shop has an eat in option. It is spacious and very clean. All the staff were very friendly and polite. Recommended
Great fish and chips, the fish was so large you could call it a whale. One large fish and chips was enough to split between two people. Cooked to perfection, batter light and bubbley with no excess oil on the paper when we got home, chips were crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Great service, was asked if we wanted salt and vinegar, but I prefer to put my own on when I get home.

If you want the very best fresh fish, cooked to order and a mug of tea then this is the place. Easy ordering, tea delivered to our table and the fish cooked to perfection. We will be back.

Friendly service, unfortunately they were out of Haddock so opted for Cod. Fish was tasty, nice crispy batter, chips nice colour and tasty. Had to ask for salt on my chips (caught them just before wrapped) rather than Salt or Vinegar being offered. Battered sausage wasn't great - they'd used a herb'd sausage which didn't go with the batter, a good plain traditional pork sausage would be preferred.
Overall good cod & chips takeaway, would return.

Been using for many years, very good food recently started doing spam which is different and good , will continue to use , a tip is to phone ahead and order 20/30 minutes before hand to save the wait as it’s cooked to order and normally busy.
We are on holiday with friends for the week and had a meal in the fish bar. The quality of the food was superb so much so we went back later in the week for another sit down meal The cod was the best we have eaten and the scampi was the same. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Highly recommend the Holt fish bar

Staying locally, and found Holt Fish bar by using previous customer reviews, and it didn't disappoint. All freshly cooked to order, so you don't mind waiting. Nice crisp batter, not soggy at all, and cod lovely and tender. Chips also nice too. Would definitely go back when in the area again.

Exceeded expectations! On our first visit to Holt and we set out to find a restaurant. Passing the Fish Bar we were tempted to give it a shot. What we found was good week cooked food, friendly service and a happy atmosphere inside.
