Good food and good, friendly service. Went for the Sunday carvery. 4 meats to choose from on the day, my gammon and turkey were both really nice. Wife had the veggie option, which was beetroot and butternut squash wellington, which she reported as lovely.
I haven't rated the rooms because I didn't stay. Unless you are lucky enough to live in the small hamlet that it's in, you would need to drive, so bear that in mind, but the car park is large enough. It even has EV charging if you need it.
We went on a Wednesday so it was quite quiet, we were a party of 7 and so there was a variety of food eaten. All of us enjoyed our meal , even our fussy teenagers loved their meal. The chunky crispy chips are really really good
We booked a table here for 7 for my wife's birthday- only the day before (our fault) but they were very accommodating, even when we called to change the time on the day.
We were greeted by Steph, at the bar, who was very friendly- she took our drink orders and showed us to our oversized table, and then took the order flawlessly (memorised.)
The menu was largely traditional British pub food, which was what we were expecting.
There was one small omission when the food arrived, but it was rectified quickly and without any fuss.
And the food... was great. Simple food, done very well. Triple cooked chips were a clear highlight, as was the steak on the mixed grills - tasty and cooked just right.
Very unpretentious, but excellent anyway.
Popped in for lunch today after going out for a walk round tamar lake. Was not dissapointed with the food here, we had gammon eggs and chips with a small side salad, the pie of the day (beef and ale) with chips and a couple of all day breakfasts (comes with two slices of toast). All the food was excellent and served very quickly. Very good place to stop for food.
Came here for a meal to round off our holiday, not disappointed! Food was superb (especially the desserts!),staff were very friendly & attentive.
Met the emus & learnt a lot about them from the very friendly & knowledgeable young man who keeps them.
Will definitely return if ever in this area again.
Restaurant was lovely. Food cooked as asked. Steak done brilliantly. Visited several times in a short space of time, food always good.

Called in for a meal on the go, happy to cater for 4 of us and our dog! Enjoyed the meal, thanks again
Took friends out for a carvery first time visiting staff very friendly and food was good quality and well cooked
Good friendly service and value for money
Lovely staff nice meal. Locals were very welcoming.
Were staying in the Beaworthy area this week and asked locals for recommendations on a nice pub for a carvery. Popped in for a drink Saturday and booked a table for a Sunday carvery for 5 adults and a child. The carvery was very nice. Also managed some pudding. Friendly staff. Good range of beers/ciders. It's a dog friendly pub. The separate restaurant area was not dog friendly, but we were quickly seated in the bar area so we could bring our dog in. Would eat here again.
Great food. Lovely country pub. Very friendly
Booked Sunday lunch for 4 adults and 2 dogs. Lovely welcome by the staff. The choice of meat was superb. Meal enjoyed by all of us and a little bit for the dogs. Would recommend booking in advance.
