First visit. What a stunning place & grounds. We ate in the smaller room, private, intimate. Food was fresh & good quality. Great choices ♥️

Excellent value for money with a fantastic room, beautiful grounds and a really friendly team. It is dog friendly and he loved it especially walking around the gardens! We ate in the bar and the food was delicious and the portions we're huge! We definitely go back!
Outstanding! Stayed here only 1 night and wish it was longer! The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and rooms are very high standard. We had a jacuzzi in the huge bathroom. Evening meal was amazing quality and generous portions. Same as the wonderful breakfast. Incredible!!

We stayed here for Scafell Pike, which is about a 25-minute drive from here. It is a beautiful place in outstanding location. We hired the clock tower cottage, which has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large open-plan kitchen/ living area, and a patio. The kitchen was fully equipped. We could park just o
Just had an excellent one night stay. The room was comfortable and well thought out with a jacuzzi bath. Dinner was very good, the room was busy but we didn't have to wait overly long for our food which was freshly cooked and tasty. The cooked breakfast had good quality meat, the sausage and bacon
Beautiful hotel and great staff. We stayed for a wedding and absolutely loved the area and grounds. Free roaming peacocks and various other animals just make this place extra special. Steve and his team went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. I requested an iron, and it was no trouble a
Great experience here. The service was absolutely brilliant and the rooms were brilliant. The food was to die for. Watching the resident chickens, geese and peacocks was also great fun. Full of interesting history. Well worth the price.
Beautiful place, and if you dare and have the confidence and experience, drive west from windermere to the hardknott pass great drive to hotel. (Hard drive) Hotel was very nice, relaxed, no booking for a meal. Ordered game pie, but there was only beef in it. Although tasty, not what I expected.
Friendly staff. We stayed in a cottage, not in the hotel. The cottage wasn't clean during our 4-day, 3 nights stay. It's gorgeous though and it has everything you need. It's a bit off the track though.
Me and my son stayed here for the night because we were walking up Scafell Pike the next day and it’s only a twenty-minute drive away and there was parking on site. What a lovely place, amazing building, and great views all around. We had a nice clean room, staff were great, we also enjoyed a meal i
Great setting. Beautiful gardens. Loved the peacocks🙂bar did not have any real ales all week despite advertising that it had. No food or bar service when there is a function on. That's not good.

Lovely buildings surounded by a park and the countryside, great for walks. I really loved being greeted by the free roaming friendly young cat, geese, pheasant, and hens/Cockerell. It's very refreshing after a long trip or day at work. The bed is very comfy, and I slept superbly well. The rooms are
Easy to find the hotel is beautiful and set in lovely ground. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you. The rooms are massive with a huge bathroom with bath and shower.
