Only a couple of options for a vegetarian so I chose the vegetable curry. In good time, a very large portion of a very nice mild veggie curry and rice arrived. I looked at the portion size and thought "wow", only to be told my pappadoms and naan bread would be out in a minute! (Chargeable extras in most restaurants and pubs).
Great food, great service, reasonable prices and great portion sizes!
Fantastic reception when we came in for lunch from the staff. We have 3 border terriers who was welcomed with open arms and treats from the bar. A great selection of beers ( I had Jennings Snecklifter) which was superb. Also a great menu , food was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly. Not enough stars to give The Bridge Inn a better review.
Had a fantastic overnight stay bit of a mix up over our tea order but we were well compensated by staff very polite and friendly chef Josh ur poached eggs and breakfast were amazing X
Would defiantly recommend a visit its dog friendly as well
Will call again soon 🍺😀
We only had evening meal at the Bridge inn but was well worth the visit excellent food and good selection of ales .very friendly and polite staff .would highly recommend eating here
One night stop off on way to wastwater great beer excellent food and staff nice comfy beds and good cooked breakfast in the morning
During our weeks holiday we have dined here 3 times, each time the food and service was great, from starters to carvery, the locally sourced food was delicious, a well earned 5 * for the food and friendly staff. Thank you
I once lived in this place for 6 years and had a lovely time and met great friends whilst being cared for by Lesley, John and team. So not been for a while but had meals in their 2 nights running with Angie and it's not lost any of its special magic, well worth a visit for a lovely meal and great pint.
Stayed for two nights, we had our toddler and our dog with us. The staff were great and extremely helpful, loved the atmosphere and the ale. Proper Cumbrian hospitality.
lovely meal staff pleasant nice atmosphere would recommend.

really helpful and friendly team . great food recommend fish and chips .... lovely atmosphere for my husband's birthday with our three
Had a fantastic 2 night stay at the Bridge Inn and we were made to feel very welcome. The English Breakfast was perfect and set us up for the day. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone and we would love to come back again soon. Thank you for a lovely stay x
Beautiful walkers pub with great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Clean spacious rooms with comfy beds!
Excellent hotel. Comfortable beds and very good food. 3 stars for the room as I was in a single and it was like a box, despite paying more than half the double room price. Single supplements are a pain but that is not the hotel's fault. I would recommend The Bridge any day.
Lovely food, great chips. Showed football and does Sunday Roasts. Had burger and chips, husband had fish and chips. Friendly service. Did not stay in the hotel so can't comment.
The stay was okay, nice room, nothing special, it would have been better if there was more staff throughout the day to help serve customers as it seemed there was a lack of staff.
The breakfast staff were brilliant and very catering. The main lady who checked us in which I assume is the owner seemed really unhappy and not friendly. Unfortunately it would have changed my view on this stay if there was a warm welcoming.
Found this little gem more by luck. Popped in for a quick bite. Was not disappointed. Food was excellent service, not as good as the food but still worth the visit.. Vista to die for on the river with the lakes in the distance if I'm ever in the area again will definitely return
Great little inn. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean with tea coffee t.v walk in shower food was lovely and big portions too dog friendly and just a really nice vibe there would visit again
Fantastic place at the heart of Lake district . Staff were very polite and helpful. Food was very tasty and stylish. My steak was 10/10. Hotel located very close to Irton Pike where walk paths start to majority of pikes. Great place also for cold water plunge adjacent to the nearest bridge. There is free parking at the front and the back of the hotel. I will definitely be back again.
Tastefully decorated, modern pub, which still has a classic inn charm. The food was tasty and the atmosphere good. The bar service was slow, but good beer when you got it.
Very nice food, and a very cosy pub/restaurant. They have real fires down, and welcome dogs and muddy-booted hikers. That doesn't take away from the cleanliness and tidiness of the whole place. The bar itself was impeccable.
Clean well appointed rooms, service from all the staff was exceptional, very nice warm welcome. Food was very good
We did not stay at the Hotel, but it looked lovey. We stopped for some dinner. Food was fantastic, Good portions, a pity that the staff was not so friendly.
We visited as part of Brit stops. The car park opposite is not all flat but we found a decent spot and had a good night there. The food in the hotel was great. I loved my steak pie with fresh vegetables. The drinks were expensive pushing our bill up but I understand the need to cover costs these days. The hotel looked great too and the location is excellent. Wi-Fi was good too.
Visited a couple of times while staying on nearby campsite. Traditional English (none themed) pub with nice food & atmosphere. Good selection of beers. My wife did comment that the various house wines were poor, which did put us off going again (Should be alright if your buying your own bottle). It can be busy especially at weekends when you may have to book.
Attention to detail at every level. The staff are great, the food is good (although a bit expensive), the rooms are comfy and clean.
This pub has a superb location, nestled right next to walking trails, lakes and some rather picturesque passes. Furthermore, it has amazing food with reasonable prices. This has become one of the highlights of Lake District trip! Will definitely come again
We had a great bed and breakfast stay at the Bridge Inn in the Lakes a few weeks ago. The location is ideal for exploring the West side of the Lake District with plenty of walks to nearby lakes and cafes (it’s also not too far from the coast).
The rooms are small but a good base. They were incredibly clean considering the Inn is dog friendly. The rooms did need updating (especially the bathrooms) but for a base for the day and a great price its nothing to grumble at.
The hotel had lovely staff - you could tell they were short staffed but that never impacted our service or made us feel any less welcome. The food was also amazing and well worth staying in the hotel for the evening to try! The breakfast was also fab.
Great pub, great location. Real ales. Lovely staff. Food was spot on. Burger chips and salad but have to say, although the burger and chips were delicious, the salad was outstanding. Not just an add on to be left on the plate. Chefs attention to detail is to be commended.
