A superb hotel in a beautiful location. We stayed with friends whilst visiting Holmfirth and were very happy with our choice. The rooms are great with lovely views. The food was excellent too, both dinner and breakfast and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We returned to the hotel at 11pm after a concert and despite being closed they happily rustled up a hot chocolate for my wife. Very impressed!
Came here with my close friends and it was a perfect spot for a Sunday lunch after a walk in the peaks. There is a lovey greenhouse with tables and a beautiful panoramic view. The lamb roast was so delicious.. I forgot to take a photo of it before I started eating! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Prices were reasonable. I’d love to come back!
Very friendly, attentive staff who couldn't do enough to help. All the staff were working hard but they still kept asking if we wanted to order more food or drinks.
The room we had was quite small but had an excellent view. Would definitely stay here again
Absolutely amazing pub. We were on our honeymoon in Hepworth as we love the North of England.
The service was impeccable, Food exquisite, atmosphere out of this World.
For a pub in the middle of nowhere it was heaving, but nothing was too much trouble.
Absolutely fantastic staff.
I'm fact the staff of the Butchers Arms in Hepworth could do with having lessons in hospitality, customer service and manners from all at The Boshaw Trout!
We are seriously considering a 4 hour drive back one weekend for a Sunday lunch!
We had a great time last night, amazing service, the best margaritas and a great atmosphere.
We ordered burgers, they were massive and so tasty.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend the place!
Thank you 😊
Just called in for Sunday lunch very busy the staff do a great job with service food quality very good could be just a little bit warmer but didn’t spoil it the beer was lovely definitely call again.
Lovely pub/hotel just outside Holmfirth. Only stayed 1 night. Bedroom was lovely with a corner window giving great views of the Bowshore reservoir and fells.
Room had an ironing board but if you need an iron, you have to ask for one. You also have to ask for a hairdryer which they bring within minutes. The only complimentary products in our room were shampoos. No shower gel, but again, someone found some for us.
The evening meal was good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and young.
The only downside was the back entrance door which banged very loudly every time someone came in or went out. Also when the pub is closed you have to enter or leave by a back fire escape with steepish metal steps, which were a bit awkward with cases.
Enjoyed our stay and if we are in that area again will definitely return.
Lovely food and location, not cheap but I didn't expect it to be and the service was friendly and attentive. Went for Sunday lunch but they ran out of Yorkshire Puddings so changed our mind on our menu choice which was a bit of a shame still a nice meal out and we'll definitely be back.
The pub is beautifully renovated and the rooms are great, clearly had a lot of money spent and been decorated with some thoughtful touches. The staff are warm and welcoming.
We stayed in Woodhead room which was compact and facing on to the road, so there was some road noise through the night, although otherwise the surrounding area is very rural.
The bed was comfortable, drinks tray well stocked and everything was spotlessly clean. A couple of small niggles which could be easily rectified: nowhere to hang clothes, no hooks in the bathroom, no easily accessible power socket to charge phone and a fan would have been welcome. These small points don’t detract from this place at all. We had a great stay and would happily return. Thank you
This pub is in a lovely spot, so it's a nice drive out. We both had the steak and ale pie, which was really good. The crust was crusty, as it should be, and the chips (with skin on) were lovely as well. The gravy was proper meaty gravy too. We both had garden peas (mushy peas were an option).
It would have been an altogether perfect visit if it wasn't for the waitress who took our drinks order prior to ordering the food. Ten minutes later we still had no drinks and she was serving other people. However, the waitress who took our food order was very nice and apologised for the other girl, who should have come and apologised herself. That waitress gets the Bowshaw Trout a star knocked off.
We eat here regularly, enjoying the excellent beers they brew themselves, their food, the views and the service.
Always an excellent Sunday lunch, intelligently slow-cooked meat so enjoyable from 12 til late afternoon.
Lovely staff look after us very well.
Absolutely fantastic went in for a random pint and was made to feel welcome from the start , he even gave me a taster of a local stout and it was lovely , Absolutely lovely place with lovely staff and I shall be going back for food and the view's 10/10
Great local pub with a nice atmosphere, some stunning views alongside local beer and some decent food
Had food here for a large group. Accommodated us at last moment . Service was quick, food was great and prices good. Calves liver was superb.
So glad that I landed at the Boshaw Trout against my better judgement. On a work trip the location was further out than my senses suggested.
What really made it special were the people, warm, friendly, hospitable and interested. Thankyou Jess, Lilley, Issy, Rob, Sheila, Ethan and a chef (no name!). You were all amazing.
Now did I mention the location, not ideal for my work....but a heaven on earth. Stunning.
We came up from Nottingham to stay just down the lane from the Boshaw trout.
The staff are lovely , the food was great and the atmosphere was relaxing. I recommend the quiz night every other Thursday. A really nice pub
