When I went I enjoyed superb service, great recommendations from the waiting staff who were attentive, helpful and very friendly right from when I walked in the door I enjoyed a garlic bread and complementary olives, and then an amazing Pizza Bianco which is a non tomato based white pizza with rocket, goats cheese, roasted peppers, roasted courgette and parmesan ahavings This pizza is an absolute must if you visit, and the chef is a genius for putting together a pizza like this with no tomato being involved. Overall a superb experience that I enjoyed so much I will be driving the fourty five minute journey to eat there again If you are in or near Holmfirth and want real food cooked by a real chef then stop off at piccolinos and enjoy... Piccolino's is one of the most popular restaurants around Holmfirth and is normally busy, especially at weekend. The food is quite expensive compared to other places but it's a nice place to have a meal and a drink upstairs beforehand. The staff are really friendly and always remember their customers. It has changed owners a few times in the last few years but has finally settled under the new ones and now has a great choice in the menu of both pizzas, pastas and other mains. Pizzas are great, as are most of the other dishes. I seem to remember that the house white wine wasn't great though! Everything else - 9/10!

You can hardly find this place unless you know the area, tucked down a little alley. You might not expect much from its exterior but you are in for a dining experience. Had the early bird menu which is between 5pm and 7pm and there is a really good choice of food.choice of 5 starters and about 10 mains, all served with potatoes, or chips, or salad. also wine, beer or a soft drink. all for £16.95. felt really full after and the service and hygiene excellent. a little gem.

I visited Poppa Piccolinos tonight with my family. The lovely restaurant is in a beautiful, central location in Holmfirth. It is easy to get to and there is a lot of parking nearby. The restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere. The welcome we received from staff was warm and inviting and from the moment we sat down, waiting staff were very attentive. The food is absolutely beautiful. The flavours are amazing and you absolutely won’t leave hungry! The portions are fantastic. The owners are kind people who are also very attentive and make it feel extra special. It has lovely decor and the restaurant is very clean. Will absolutely visit again with friends and family as it’s a new favourite for just a family get together or a celebration. (Please note that on the photos the rice came in beautiful presentation but we had started eating before I remembered I just had to get photos of this beautiful food!!!)

Great food, fantastic service and really good value for money. Found this place in Holmfirth a short distance from our Air B and B and we would definitely recommend and will go back. Fresh homemade pizzas and pasta. Large portions too. Lovely staff that are really attentive. Had a great night with family but would be equally nice for a romantic night out or group dinner

Our first visit here and it was very good. The portions were ample and flavoursome. Can't fault anything. The chef came to greet some regular visitors and his chef white's were spotless and the cutlery was clean and shiny. This all made for a pleasant change from some other meals we have had out. Will definitely be visiting here again.

We visited last Saturday, there was a group of 6 of us. It was very busy, we were in the corner on a round table and I did have to keep moving my chair throughout the meal so staff and customers could get by which wasn't ideal but the rest of our party didn't have to move. There was a lot of choice on the menu which was great, we had a main and dessert each and our friends had a bottle of win, the bill came to around £150. Me and my partner thought it was a quite pricey for what it is but the food was nice so it is a nice treat. We also asked for no ice cream for one of our desserts but it arrived with ice cream, not a massive deal but wanted to mention it on my review. It was very noisy and when the Happy Birthday song came on twice it was extremely loud so I wouldn't recommend if you want a quiet meal. The toilets were clean as well. Overall we enjoyed it.

My first visit to piccolinos in about 20 years. Me and my party were seated upstairs. Table was a bit small for 4 but we were OK. Staff were attentive but not overly friendly except for the chef who came to say hi, and the gent taking orders. If the candles went out they were over relighting it, although not necessary. I had the bolognese which was perfectly satisfactory (my go to safe meal at an Italian) Prices were a bit steep but probably in line with Italians in the area. Would I go again? Yes. Would I have the same meal? Absolutely.

Staff are really attentive, couldn't be more helpful when choosing gluten free options. Food was amazing and great value. Chef came out to see if everything was OK which was well appreciated. Would recommend.

Food was good, especially the meatballs starter. The Stroganoff was a little disappointing both in quantity and in taste. However, what a great atmosphere this place has! The service and the team are excellent and a real credit to the restaurant. Definitely recommend a visit!

Beautiful little restaurant/bistro serving a great selection of food from Italian to Eastern tastes. Staff very accomodating with an 'open style' kitchen so you can see & smell your food being prep'd. Would definitely recommend

The bread was microwaved to warm up, this turned it tough to eat. We had to ask twice for water, it was not busy. We ordered a main course, given a choice of mild, medium or spicy, we ordered mild. The meal was very spicy and could not eat it. The staff noticed my wife didn't eat it but waited till later to ask. Too late to replace. Not impressed with the pizza's. Never go again. I would like to amend my review after my wife and I visited for the second time and discussed the review with Ben Lym. We cannot fault the service, very attentive, polite and helpful. We cannot amend what we stated in our initial review because what happened happened. We can however understand the situation that first night and that our second meal was very good. I respect a restaurant owner who takes constructive criticism and acts on it. Finally we would like to add that we will be back again.

I would rate Poppa Piccolinos as amongst best Italian places I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a few across the world :). Lasagna was delicious, as was so many other dishes. Kids loved the food too (and the ice cream!). Staff were super friendly and fun, and the place is warm and cozy. Kitchen is open and you can see the kitchen staff work their magic. We went for dinner twice in the long weekend we stayed in UK / Holmfirth. Full disclosure, we were visiting the proprietors of Poppa Piccolinos (Uncle Beng Yau and Aunty Jane) who i am proud to be part of the family (Uncle Beng Yau is also a pretty amazing chef at home ;) ). But I can assure you that my review of this place is not bias. I really do stand by what I say, the food was amazing :). Thanks again Uncle Beng Yau and Aunty Jane and all the staff at Poppa Piccolinos for an amazing time!

Wonderful food great service. We went early for the early bird so not full, hence the slightly lower score for atmosphere.

The food and service were amazing. Extremely tasty quality ingredients i have never tasted such an amazing sauce. I need to say portion size was very generous. The staff were very attentive and always at hand, even catering for our puppy who tucked onto meatballs and tomato sauce ...lush. Thank you. We will recommend the restaurant on our Facebook page.

Me and my partner came for a meal here. The staff are so welcoming and attentive. I had a chicken and mushroom tagliatelle and he had a mixed meat Calzone. The food was incredible and great value for money for how large the portions are. I had half of mine to take home and it was still just as delicious the next day. Would highly recommend!

First time visit and first impressions are usually the best to go on. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked and all six of us got our food at the same time. The only missing star was due to the time it took for our meals to arrive as they appeared a little short staffed in the Kitchen and as the restaurant was only half full it might have presented a problem had it been full, but despite this it was well worth the wait.
