We booked for a group of 4 for Sunday lunch. We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our table which was ready for us even though we were 25 minutes early. We all the roast dinner 3 with beef and one with pork it was lovely if anything there was a little bit too much but better than not enough lol. The staff and the land lady were all friendly helpful and efficient. This pub is s little gem I would highly recommend.
Dropped in for lunch yesterday April 8th 2018 and called into the shop afterwards. We were amazed at the choice and variety of produce and could not resist the Corned Beef Hash Cornish...they were huge.We had them tonight and i finished off with the biggest Vanilla Slice which we bought from the shop........all we can say is compliments to the chef.Great quality and lip smacking good
The staff are v friendly and accommodating & the food is of a high quality presented within a pleasant atmosphere - excellent all round
Stopped by for breakfast on the off chance on the way to Holmfirth- we stumbled on a little gem of a pub. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful and the breakfast was simply delicious. We would highly recommend and will definitely go there again. Thank you!
I've been popping in here for years so thought it was about time I wrote a review. Honestly, I've never had a bad meal, from the pies on quiz night, to Sunday dinners to the breakfast I had a few weeks back, every mouthful has been gorgeous. Proper, home cooked food and super friendly staff. From a very picky eater. :)
Best pub in the Holme Valley. Food is excellent, great portions, great beer, great staff, wonderful friendly place.
Brought my family here for lunch on a Saturday when they visited. We were all impressed. The choice on the menu was great. The food was excellent and generously portioned. Very Good value for money. We will be visiting again.
Delicious roast Sunday dinner . Extra pork crackling on request .
Tasty food , cozy surrounding , helpful staff .
Would definitely recommend .
Good food, friendly staff, really enjoyed it.
Glad I didn't leave the wallet in the car on our walk around the reservoirs. I could have stayed there for the rest of the day. Definitely recommend stopping in for food and a beer.
Phoned this morning on the off chance of a table for Mothers Day. A call back confirmed they had a table one at 12noon which we grabbed. A lovely drive out in the spring sunshine to a very welcoming pub and staff. Food was lovely and piping hot and service first class. Thank you for a lovely meal, and the chocolates too - a lovely touch. We will definitely make a return visit.
had a lovely meal this afternoon, great food , great atmosphere. would definitely recommend a visit x
Very friendly and accommodating staff, fantastic food too. There were almost 30 in our group and the food arrived on time and was hot, very impressed.
Lovely home cooked food, nice staff and lovely atmosphere would definitely recommend
Vegetarian roast dinner.... genius! Such a simple idea and wish other places did this! We’re all vegetarian (me, hubby and little boy) and are often envious of the Yorkshire puds and roasties! Lovely food, atmosphere,
Location and drinks....can’t fault it
We just did the Netherby Brow Loop walk, which finishes at this fantastic pub.
Great traditional pub with amazing food from a large menu.
Good selection of beer and lager.
Dog friendly and a separate menu for canines!
Great service, friendly staff and good atmosphere in front of an open fire.
Will probably return (without the walk)
A nice pitstop while out on my motorbike fantastic food. They have a little takeaway Cafe next to it.
Definitely come inside for a meal next time.
Now, I can honestly say the food is the most amazing food I've ever tasted.
The roast beef was absolutely incredible. Portions were huge! Absolutely Huge!
Full credit to the chef and kitchen staff for producing such delicious food, the front of house team were also amazing! We were welcomed the moment we walked through the door to The Fleece Inn.
The pub is cosy, warm, welcoming, and friendly.
I wished it was in Norfolk, I would be a regular customer.
Thank you for a wonderful meal and to all the staff at The Fleece Inn for their hospitality and friendly customer service.
If I could give you 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I would! 😍
Found this place by accident after a walk. The best accident I've had. The best pub menu I have seen in a long time. Top quality food. It was that good we came the next day also. We've even booked their cottage later in the year so that we can go back. Well done to all involved. Can't recommend you enough.
The Fleece must be one of the best pubs in England. Well kept beer and food to die for. Genuinely, some of the most delicious food I have ever tasted. Portions were very generous and you could tell that the chef loved the job and was very good at it. Prices seemed a little high but in reality a bargain due to the quantity and quality. Super dog friendly too. If you’re in the area do yourselves a favour and visit this gem of a place.
Lovely cozy pub in the village of Holme - we stopped on a whim coming over from Holme Moss as we saw the lights and fire and thought it looked interesting. We only stopped for one drink so can't comment on the menu, and as veggies I didn't spot many veggie options from the board (but there might have been on another menu), but I loved the vibe, decor and atmosphere and would definitely go here for a drink again if we were in the area. I also liked that it was very dog friendly, going so far as to have a menu for the dogs too.
I ordered 2 pies as we had guests coming round for dinner, and everyone was so impressed and said they were absolutely delicious. Anybody having a dinner party and want to impress, then I would highly recommend buying them from the Fleece, full of filling and tasted beautiful. Each pie feeds 8 to 9 people, we had so much left we have had it over 2 days for our tea, still as tasty as the day we got them. Thank you again, expect more orders from us and our friends as they all wanted to know where they came from.
Lovely pub in the village. Staff all really lovely and friendly. Food was delicious. Dog friendly with good selection of food and treats to buy for your dog.
Great traditional pub serving great food, a short distance out of Holmfirth. Portions are very large so choose starters carefully. My goat's cheese starter was excellent.
Only a couple of ales on tap which was disappointing but a wide choice of gins for my wife.
There is a car park at the rear and the pub is fully accessible with a ramp up to the door.
Enjoyed dinner after the walk on the Moors! Beef and lamb was delicious, but beef gravy tasted turnipy! Not for my liking, but I am sure other people have various taste! Lamb gravy was delicious! Kept scooping it out from my boyfriend's plate!! Deserts absolutely outstanding! Could not decide which one was better! Service was great, very polite and knowledgeable staff! Thank you and coming back!!
