My husband and I went for an evening meal... I had creamy garlic mushrooms with ciabatta, whilst hubby had the fish basket. For the main course I had rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce is to die for. Hubby had the small rack of ribs. Overall the food was excellent. The atmosphere was superb and the staff very friendly. I have booked to go on mother's day and would highly recommend this place... Lovely lovely lovely x

Lovely friendly place, with good food, comfortable accommodation and very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived long before check-in time but chalet was quickly prepared for us. No matter how long staff had been working they were always cheerful and friendly. Would definitely recommend especially the Thursday steak night.

We stayed for 3 nights recently. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. The food was lovely & the portions were huge. Great rooms with comfy beds. The only thing we found disappointing, is that we could hear everything the people in the room next door were saying - can't really blame the owners for that though. Would definitely recommend it here & would love to return

On the 22 April 2017 I had my wedding reception at the red lion the food was out of this world on behalf of my wife and myself I would like to thank Chris and his staff. For all the effort they put in for our wedding reception, I know a lot of my guests will be coming back to sample the food again Brilliant time thanks again

Stayed weekend before Christmas with a wowcher. Great food both nights, accommodation was separate to the pub which was great - no noise - comfy beds and spacious room.

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the chalet style double rooms. Everything was clean and tidy, lovely comfy bed. Breakfasts were great all freshly cooked. The staff were all great especially the housekeeper. Have already recommended it to family and friends. Fabulous short break.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding at nearby Bunny Hill, which was only a ten minute drive away. The room was comfortable, warm & and a very good price. The staff were all lovely, especially the lady serving breakfast which was cooked to order and excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed 2 nights in the Wellington lodge, enjoying the luxury of the hot tub. Food at the pub was delicious especially the Chinese night! food and drink was reasonably priced and served by friendly and efficient staff, we really enjoyed our stay thank you! Just lacking a mirror in the lodge but everything else was spot on :)

The Red Lion's food is absolutely stunning. We have visited for a family dinner and dishes of all different types arrived beautifully presented, hot and delicious. Handmade across the board, packed with the best bits. Lovely staff and great environment. Would whole hearted recommend and will be visiting again.

Just spent a wonderful two nights here. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much for them and they were cheerful and friendly. Breakfasts were freshly made and ample. We had a lovely evening meal in there with a group of friends and we all found it delicious.

We use this for our motor club meets and Will and Holly very accomodating to our needs. Food is good and they even put in zero Guinness and non alcoholic ciders etc for those motorists who want to stay legal. They haven't been there long but I'm sure business will build with their attitude to customers.

Really nice and spacious, and clean. Could do with a small microwave in the pods. The main drawback is that breakfast (whilst included in the price) is only served 8-9am. There must be more people that us that like to sleep in when they are away. This should be an optional extra as obviously it's included in the price but you should have the option to opt out and have a slightly reduced price. I would happily stay again if there was option for breakfast.

A charming traditional pub, vast seating, comfy and cosy. Great choice of menu. Lovely friendly helpful staff. We had my grandsons 2nd birthday there with family. Will definitely go back. Nicely tucked away quiet location.

Booked table for 6 for Friday 24th November. Wow was it worth visiting. Proper pub grub, cooked to perfection. Good choices on menu. Warm welcome from entering the pub. Main meals came, piping hot, steaks cooked exactly as ordered, very generous portions. 5 of us decided to have a dessert!I actually lost count of the number of desserts, spoiled for choice!Again very very tasty. We spent a very pleasant afternoon at this pub. Go with an appetite, pub is very popular and staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. Will definitely visit again. Call in, you won't regret it.

Although it wasn’t the cleanest (but clean enough) and it wasn’t the biggest room (but big enough for two) it also wasn’t the cold, corporate clone I’ve seen a hundred times before. Very comfortable bed and delicious breakfast, the food was hot with decent sized portions and served by very friendly staff. The inn offers food from 12-9 and covers a typical pub menu with extras and specials boards to choose from too. The on-site car park was closed due to a pre-planned event but alternatives were offered alongside street parking. Would happily recommend and would go back should the opportunity arise.

The room was comfortable and clean, but the wardrobe needed a coat of paint and there were only 3 coat hangers. The shower would benefit from a soap dish or tray and there were no biscuits with the tea and coffee sachets. However, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful. The food and drink in the pub were excellent and it was very busy midweek so advisable to book a table. Handy for local nature reserves and about 40 to 60 minutes drive to coast or York depending on roadworks.

Stayed in the glamping pods behind the pub! A superb 2 days highly recommended! The pub was friendly the food was to die for and the accommodation was second to none! Clean warm and comfortable! Why wouldn't you book? The village itself is beautiful with a gorgeous 500 year old church nearby! Highly recommended!
