Great historic pub on the North Downs way with really good food. They source most of the food locally and have good variety on the menu. The scallops starter was really good and the fillet steak was excellent. They also have a pizza oven and the sourdough pizzas coming out looked very good. Very friendly staff. They also have outdoor tables. We will be coming back!
Visited with some friends for the Sunday roast. Really nice food however on the pricey end. Service was fast and efficient. Would recommend this restaurant.
We all ordered the beef roast for mains. Meat was tender and vegetables were cooked well and not over cooked.
For dessert I had the amaretto crème brûlée which was exceptional. My friend had the chocolate tart which was tasty and not sickly.
Price was roughly £50 a pair so not the cheapest meal around. More of a one-off venue.
Needed a little break from the City, quick lunch at the pub. For sure make a booking 1st! Glad we did, as it got really full. Parking also quite a challenge, ended up parking at the church down the road. Food was EXCELLENT, and the service and ambience great. Can recommend the chef specials. We had the lamb and the seabass.
You made our day! Friendly staff found us a table even though it was busy and we didn’t have a booking. The service was quick and all the staff we spoke to were absolutely lovely. The food was really good, some of best pub dishes we’ve had. You can tell they care about the youngest guests too: the kids menu is seriously good food and beautifully presented, which is rare (the photos show what our toddler had, yummy!). Great deserts and very good coffee too at the end. Thank you for a lovely meal, the Dirty Habit team :)
Amazing family Sunday lunch. Qaulity ingredients and hearty portions. Service was attentive and welcoming. Will definitely return again.
Another example of Kentish pub cuisine mastery. The 14th century pub has more character than a Disney movie. It is inviting and difficult to leave the comfort of the open fires.
The service is salt of the earth and with a warmth to match. Service was quick and perceptive.
The Dirty Habit attracts a middle class, middle aged crowd. It does fill up surprisingly quickly come 7pm. Please reserve a table to avoid disappointment.
Food was astonishing, all I can say is whatever you choose you are going to enjoy. Quality, choice, portion size and presentation were spot on. The “door stop” basket of bread brought a smile to my face. It falls in line with this country pub setting.
One of my best pub restaurant experiences. Thank you.
Firstly the food was incredible. The place is beautiful. Staff were very friendly. Reasonably priced. Food comes quick to the table. For all that - 5 stars.
Few things that I did pick up on. The vegan/vegetarian menu is confusing - it’s hard to tell what is vegan and what is vegetarian (I should have asked, but I didn’t).
One of our party had an item missing from their plate, not the end of the world.
The staff were a little slow at coming to the table and I had to ask for drinks rather than being offered.
Would 100% go back though. Going to try one of their other restaurants next week.
Great Pub find. Stopped here for lunch, food is impressive and very tasty with a well thought out menu. Staff are great, friendly, knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. The bar is feels like warm and welcoming, winter evenings must be really cozy but hey it’s summer at the moment and the garden is beautiful the sun is shining and the drink is flowing. Highly recommend. Closer than you think. And for all you tech-heads great Wi-Fi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was a last minute decision to visit this pub, although we had been there before, but sometime ago. We was welcomed warmly, shown to a table and given the menu. There was an excellent choice of dishes, from the light to the sumptuous steak meals.
My wife and myself both opted for the Duck Margret with potato gratin, with asparagus and a blackberry and black currant jus. Which was a chef's special
OMG, This was, and my wife agreed, was absolutely one of the best plates of food we had ever eaten!! Yes, it was that good!!, Dessert was New York cheesecake for me apple and rhubarb crumble with rhubarb clotted cream ice cream, for my wife. Good selection of coffee to finish. Great old pub lovely garden, where we sat, lovely, friendly and polite staff, we will definitely be going back, Highly recommended
Had a 70th birthday early dinner here very recently and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Friendly and attentive service and the staff went out of their way to make our special evening.
Delicious food with lots of non meat options too, lovely NZ Sauvignon Blanc and cask ale.
Thank you so much.
