Me and my husband called in wed night for a last minute no kids so let’s dine out meal..always love this place it’s lovely inside and all the staff are very friendly. I had the chicken liver parfait to start but I felt it was lacking in something, wether it was a different type of bread, the butter was different or the parfait needed something like garlic?? There was just something missing. But the Parmesan crusted lamb for main was to die for! Especially the carrot and swede mash which I need in a pot as a side next time! This is one of our new fav places..

My husband and I stayed in this gorgeous hotel just this past weekend. The room was lovely & completely spotless & the staff are helpful & friendly. We had a call a few days before asking if we'd like to book a table for dinner which we thought was a nice touch & it was a good job we booked because it got rather busy but the staff were seamless & had everything under control. The food was quite simply delicious! I cannot recommend this hotel enough and to top it off it has the most beautiful surroundings to explore as well. We'll definitely be going back.

It was our first visit to this gorgeous pub and we were not disappointed! The last time I visited here, it was called the "Ring O'Roses", that was in the late 1980's!! Yes, a long time ago. The character is still alive. The food is amazing and the staff cannot do enough for you. Steak cooked to perfection, drinks chilled to perfection too. I can't wait to visit again.

Found this gorgeous little place whilst heading home after a long weekend away and what a way to end our trip. Parked in the car park behind and immediately discovered the Tranquility Garden. Unfortunately it wasn't quite warm enough to sit outside otherwise I'd have taken full advantage of the beautiful furniture and atmosphere. Inside is a wonderful array of little nooks and crannies to suit your needs. As a Scot I was pleased to find a good selection of Scotch Whiskies behind the bar. We decided to have lunch in the bar rather than the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our ham, eggs, chips and chutney. Feeling comfortably sleepy after our main course, we retired to the lovely squishy sofas for dessert and a pot of tea/coffee, where we spent a good wee while just chilling. Hubby has promised he'll take me back to stay next time. Can't wait! PS. Gents, you are provided with a little bit of titillation in the 'facilities'; Ladies, I've been assured that we will also be catered for in the near future!!!

Lovely comfortable accommodation. Great food and super friendly, helpful service. A beautiful garden and set in a small country village with views over fields to Downside Abbey. Dog friendly with a lovely field adjacent to the pub to walk them in. Couldn't fault the place.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the holcombe inn. Room was lovely, bathroom was great. Food in the restaurant was excellent. The little details make the difference, pancetta in the beans at breakfast summed it up, great touch. Will recommend and wish to return again. Great work guys!

After some last minute changes to our lunch date with a friend, my friend who lives nearby mentioned to try Holcombe Inn for lunch to which we did, we managed to get a lovely small table at the bar last minute which we were happy with and had a wonderful roast beef lunch and the most amazing steamed ginger sponge pudding with marmalade ice cream and custard, it was delicious, the food was amazing and the owners are delightful, what a lovely friendly atmosphere where dogs are also allowed in the bar. I totally recommend this if your looking for a lovely place to eat, have a drink with a fabulous friendly team that work there 😋

We stumbled over the Holcombe Inn in the winter, just after christmas. Went in to see a roaring open fire surrounded by soft comfortable leather sofa's. We were only going to stop for one, the ladies had a mulled wine and the boy had a pint, i was driving so stayed on the soft drinks. We ended up having a second and then coffee and cakes... Yesterday I rode out to meet the daugher, again another welcoming warm and hospitable greeting.. I think i've found my new favorite pub....

We had a lovely stay at The Holcombe. The cottage was clean and well organised. The homemade cookies at the arrival were delicious! The restaurant, the decor, the music and the food were gorgeous! The only reason why we score 4 stars was the poor welcome and moody service during the meals. However, the chef was amazing and very friendly! Also, the barman was a lovely, colourful, elegant gentleman who introduced us to a homemade strawberry gin.

I’ve eaten at The Holcombe a couple of times recently. The food is exceptionally good. As well as being highly praised in reviews for its accommodation, it also has a welcoming country gastropub atmosphere to please locals – and their dogs! The Holcombe is my 2023 top choice for brilliant catering. Extra plus point: meal prices are lower than at many other high-standard pubs in the area. Will be back soon!

I had a lovely two night stay. The staff and hosts are so lovely and friendly with great service. The food at dinner was delicious and high quality. A beautiful generous breakfast with high quality local produce. Overall a very lovely stay. Ideally for those exploring the local area or visitors to Babington House who want to experience brilliant food.

Probably the best restaurant in Somerset. Menu is creative and varied. Food that arrives is even better than the menu promises. Much of the food is grown in their own garden. And lovely people in beautiful setting. Could not recommend more highly

The room was lovely, beautiful views in the garden, fantastic service. Amazing kitchen garden where a lot of your dinner is grown. But the quality of the food is astounding. Freshly picked produce handled carefully and imaginatively. An exciting place to eat!

We enjoyed our stay at the Holcombe so much last year that we had to visit again this summer. We love the Barlake Lodge, it's so cosy and our dog settled in really quickly with a bed for her thoughtfully provided. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and beautifully presented. Alan was kindly able to accommodate my dietary requirements due to a health problem I have, which was very helpful. We are always made so welcome by our hosts. Spent the last morning of our holiday strolling in the gorgeous kitchen garden. So much work has gone into making the Holcombe the exceptional place that it is. Thanks Caroline and Alan, we'll be back!
