First, and not my last visit... The young lady behind the bar (Monday 5th June) was spot on, answered all my questions as a new visitor with a smile... 🙂 Had the veggie burger, very good, onion ring side (great too have them not dripping in oil and crunchy batter )... Spot on pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord...
Only moan is that I had no change and wanted too leave a tip on card, nope, brewertly/owners don't allow it, I felt bad, but will make up for it on next visit... 🙂
It was our first time visiting The Oak and it certainly won't be the last. We felt such a lovely and relaxed atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Food was tasty and arrived with us quickly but the service topped it off for us. It's not often you feel so welcome from pub staff & owners, this place is just good vibes around, a clean, loved and cared for space, we would recommended!!
First ever visit on Sunday and what a great place this is. Dog friendly too. As soon as we sat down the barman fetched a bowl of water for our dog. Good choice of food on the menu. Partner had the vegetarian option of Battered Halloumi , me opting for the steak with peppercorn sauce. Have to say that the batter on the Halloumi and Onion Rings was the lightest, crispiest batter ever! The food was delicious. Nice atmosphere and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Nice food, but the chicken tikka marsala, is like a weight watchers portion, tiny, pudding was nice, but custard, even with an extra one, was small, the pub is lovely and the food quality was good. I personally would cook curries myself rather than buy in portions.
Place was lovely and clean, food was good really enjoyed it nice staff lively place plenty in entertainment at night good offer on food for seniors very reasonable priced will definitely re visit
I went in with my family for a Sunday roast last week and it was incredible! The presentation of the beef dinner was amazing and it tasted just as good!! The 3 young ladies that were working were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be back again :)
Popped in today for lunch. Haven't been in for a while. Has a lovely homely feel to the place now. The lovely waitress was very attentive and friendly. We had Sunday lunch with lamb and all I can say is wow !! It was absolutely fantastic. Really well presented and the taste was scrumptious. My daughter had the dirty fries with chicken and some garlic bread. She is miss fussy and she said it was the best chicken she has had ! Really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back. Well done to the new manager and chef.
We made a last minute decision to eat out on the evening of Mother’s Day. What a lucky choice we made ! Although extremely busy a table was found and we enjoyed three excellent meals. From the moment we walked in we were impressed by the cheerful and friendly staff, in particular Megan, our hostess and server. She was delightful and oozed efficiency and hospitality.
Our food was well presented, served hot, and was delicious. We noted a really happy and friendly buzz about the place and commented that we intend to pay a return visit. (The 5 star food hygiene rating is a reassuring bonus)
Overall we consider this an excellent place for a no frills good quality pub meal. I intend to mention it to friends and I’m confident that they will not be disappointed.
Great pub just what we were looking for, a short walk from Red Rocks Caravan Park. A good selection of beers and lagers. The food menu looked good and people who were dining clearly were regulars, always a good sign can't comment as we didn't dine. Service was excellent warlm welcome from the young man behind the bar.
A large pub with separate restaurant area. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the lunch menu was excellent and very reasonablt priced.
We will be back to try the dinner menu very soon.
Great owner and staff. We come every week after going to the brilliant Baby Cherubs baby group for delicious food and great coffee. They cater to babies and young children by providing toys and a safe area for them. We can't recommend it enough!
