A BIG thank you to all the staff on duty last night (14/10/23) for helping to make my friends birthday meal so special. The food was delicious and you went the extra mile decorating the table and presenting her birthday cake. Thank you all.

Steak and kidney puddings are excellent, just like my mums. Staff polite and efficient. My friends had roast dinner which was enjoyed. Custard on the menu would be good as it goes with sticky toffee pud.

We were greeted very warmly at the bar, and shown to our table, by a lovely young lady. We ordered drinks, and food, both of which arrived very soon after. I ordered the steak and ale pie, and was one of the best I've ever had , it was full to the brim with beef, and the pastry was thin and crisp, served with chips, red cabbage, and a pot of gravy. Instead of a sweet desert, we opted for the selection of cheeses, which came with two pots of chutney, water biscuits and four different cheeses, all really nice , but could have done with a few extra biscuits, as there weren't quite enough for the amount of cheese etc... We have eaten here before at lunch time, and will definitely be back. Would have left a tip, but had no cash with me. Sorry.

Very nice and cosy traditional English pub restaurant nestled in the country panes of Lancashire. Warm, clean, friendly attentive staff and a log burner completed the homely atmosphere. Don't come here looking for a cheap eat, and remember quality is always worth paying for. We skipped starters and ordered 2 burgers which came with fries, but disappointingly no side salad or coleslaw. Nice juicy burgers, of decent quality, done right. Served nice and hot. The fries were crisp and didn't taste like a cheap catering grade option. Skipped desert as we were in a rush but this is a decent establishment if you are looking for above average pub meals. Menu has some nice alternatives and wasn't just the usual line up (despite our unoriginal order). Have been before, would go again.

Visited for the 1st time after passing every day on my way to and from work. Surprisingly spacious inside and we received a friendly welcome on arrival. Table service was top notch but not pushy, and the food was delicious. We had 2 courses followed by a gorgeous pudding which we couldn't resist! Looking forward to returning and sampling some of their other dishes very soon

Visited for the first time recently, and I couldn't fault anything. The service was excellent, and all seemed to be timed perfectly. Despite being busy, everything was taken care of efficiently. Each of our three courses was cooked and presented to a very high standard. I look forward to our next visit, and I would not hesitate to recommend the Royal Oak to others.

Fantastic pub with a great atmosphere, the staff are really friendly and very personable. This is easily one of the best pubs I have ever been to. The fish and chips were to die for. My fiance had steak and kidney pudding which I was jealous of, but both meals were fantastic. Double fried proper chips with noth meals is something that takes longer, but tastes so much better. The ice cream my daughter had was amazing and she's obsessed with honeycomb, so being able to have it as an add on is a great touch. Thwaites have done an awful lot in the past couple of years to improve their pubs and hopefully it'll start paying back in spades once we get over covid. Will definitely be coming back again.

Visited The Royal Oak Riley Green and have to say how lovely the food was! It was freshly made and service was to a high standard from start to finish! With the cost of living crises we only treat ourselves to a meal out every now and again as I'm sure most of the world are the same. We will be visiting again as we really enjoyed the experience. Thank you

Excellent food, quite busy on arrival at 19:30 but no issues. Would recommend booking a table in advance to ensure avaliable. Service very good and food had a wide choice to cover vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters alike.

Stopped for Sunday roast, lovely meal beef cooked perfectly. Not everyone would like pink but it was beautiful. Portion adequate however pricey. Service friendly and you are allowed to bring your pet ( as long as is clean and well behaved- 😀 thanks god ours was)

The food as always was very nice. Unfortunately when we visited it was extremely busy - standing room only. Although there where lots of staff the service was very slow.

We've been coming here occasionally, for decades. It's a quaint and atmospheric "olde worlde" pub, with exposed beams and low ceilings, that's very cosy in winter. Food is decent, if a bit on the expensive side, and service is prompt and friendly.
