The best chicken in Hertfordshire! Have been a few times now and this place never disappoints. Great selection of flavours, the buffalo is *chefs kiss* wings are a good size, good quality and always cooked to perfection. Fried chicken tastes how you dream fried chicken should taste with delicious crispy batter. Hit and miss if you have to wait for a table when dining in but you can wait at the bar if there is space and a tables don’t take too long to become available.

The 1st thing to say is it is impossible to compare the meals here with a standard fried chicken joint. This place has raised the bar, its a paradigm shift is quality. I ate in the restaurant this week, on entering I was immediately welcomed and asked if I wanted to take away or eat in. After asking to eat in I was asked to move the the restaurant area where I was immediately asked where I would like to sit. There were tables free at this point, however, I got lucky, it was filling quickly. I over ordered, 2 lots of wings, 3 pieces of chicken, thighs and breast. Not normally a fan of breast, but wanted to try in this place, finally a bowl of chips with garlic and parmazan. It was cooked to order and was in front of me in about 15 minutes, I immediately realised the chickens used here are larger quality birds, way too much food for lunch. Everything was outstanding, flavour, texture, experience. Not greesy in any way, meat cooked to perfection, juicy with a bite, fantastic. Finally, even though I over ate, none of that bloated feeling you get from processed take aways. Superb.
Food was amazing. Especially the chicken burger and wings. However the chips seemed as if they were double fried lol. Very crunchy, not enjoyable. Will come again soon though
The best!! Chicken George is in a league of its own. They do the best award winning wings. Everything is cooked to order always and has some quality standard. The in-house special sauces on their chicken with the quality of the fresh chicken is the best combination. Really recommend the mango wings, Thai and buffalo burger. Also prefer to sit in you might have to wait around for a table during peak busy evenings and weekends but it’s worth it. There is a bar inside with loads of draft beers on tap. The vibe inside is always great with excellent customer service. *no other places have come close to this spot 5***** the best.
Food was lovely - thanks for great service. We went for lunch and service was quick which was very appreciated. Definitely would recommend!

Hands down some of the best wings in the country. CG has some of the craziest wing flavours and they're all 10/10. Love the hip hop artwork in the resturant and the staff are great. Can't wait to go back for more.

I probably order from here way more than I should, but it's just the best chicken place around, quite possibly the best fried chicken I've ever had from anywhere, including in the US.
Excellent price point, never greasy or overcooked, it just always seems to be perfect. The range of flavours is great too, I personally go for the Buffalo, but the honey BBQ is also great.
Probably best to head there earlier in the evening to avoid a long queue, but this place is rightfully very popular.
WOW! First time visiting Chicken George, and I have to say that this was the best fried chicken I've ever eaten.
Was greeted by a wonderful lady called Hailey, advised that this was my first time visiting the establishment, and she couldn't be more helpful or informative on what they offered.
I ended up going for the Bombay bad boy chicken strips and peri fries, with Gravy on the side. Absolutely phenomenal taste, cooked to perfection (the meat was juicy,succulent and tender and full of flavour) and more importantly was an absolute joy to eat.
Would I come to the Hitchin Chicken George shop again? ...... Wild horses couldn't stop me, and as I live in Welwyn garden city I'd still happily drive the distance just to try more of their delicious food.
Staff are friendly very welcoming, and I would highly recommend that you pay a visit.

The food was good the burger was well made it was the buffalo burger I was told it was one of the favourite burgers that people pick from. The Thai strips was also very well cooked I would definitely order that again. Not all places I go to eat have good fries but I must say Chicken George definitely showed what good fries are. If your local feeling to eat some food chicken head down to this place it's not expensive also

Some nice, fresh chicken. I had the Classic buffalo wings which had a healthy kick to them, and the Bad Boy Q which were quite sweet and so played second fiddle to the buffalo. Also got the double bacon bbq cheese burger which was huge. Super rich, super indulgent but as a treat totally worth it.
I was told, by my mate's friend's, great uncle's step dad(on a night out in malaga), that this place was the best venue in the world for chicken. Now let me tell you, between me and my friends, we consumed 4.9 hens which is only a mere 0.1 points off my star rating. I have to say, this was the finest chicken in town. Not a morsel was left in out cardboard tubs. Highly deserved 5 stars on all counts. Great staff, amazing service, top notch food and buzzing atmosphere. Loved it. Will be back with my friends please and thank you xxx
So I went in and ordered a takeaway... Shame forgot to snap photos 🤦🏻♀️ will do that next time as defo going back. It got 4 ⭐ because the food came quick the lady at the till was lovely and the food was yummy. Now I don't generally practise to leave chicken overnight in the fridge but the portion size was large and when I say I reheated the chicken the next day in my microwave and it tasted like it did the day before as well as the texture not changing this was the 1st time I've experienced this... Normally chicken reheated ends up changing... Not in this case... I had the Honey BBQ strip meal for £9.95 😋
We went at peak time on Friday. We had to wait about 45 min at the bar (woe is me) and then had the most amazing food. The buffalo wings were as good as I’ve had anywhere (including state side). Staff were very friendly. Faye was very apologetic for having to wait that long, but it’s never a chore waiting at a bar with good beer
Delicious chicken and great service. This is a chain and the first time I’ve been to this one. It’s smaller than the Bedford one but the food was just as good.
My husband watched a tiktok video yesterday and decided to visit it today, and we didn't regret it! It worth the drive from Hayes. We ordered the Thai, mango rubicon, katsu, buffalo wings/ strips. The chicken wings are really crispy and tasty. The chips are crispy as well. Mac and cheese with bacon is yummy. The staff are friendly and made sure customers are well served. Prices are reasonable.
