The waiting staff were very welcoming when we arrived,friendly atmosphere,the food was outstanding ,would highly recommend this place for a few drinks or a meal out
Stayed here as we had a wedding reception at the priory. Really great location, easy to get too, bedroom was lovely and was opposite maim building so definitely quieter as they had 2 parties happening. Breakfast was nice fairly good selection and staff were friendly and helpful (except the lady on breakfast she just came across a little stand offish sorry) however we would definitely recommend staying here.
We have our regular speakers club meetings at the Sun Hotel and just celebrated Christmas and our Birthday with a meal in the ballroom.
The staff can never do enough for you and the food was yummy. We even had the glitter ball spinning.

went with friends to a party, food was excellent so was the breakfast. Only downside was my room. Could do with a drastic overhaul to the decor, not in keeping with what could be a lovely place to stay. but apart from that, top marks from me.

Found this pub very nice, lovely staff a great place to visit.
We had a great family lunch here today. The food was delicious and the waitress couldn't have been more helpful. I felt that she coped extremely well with the pressure of running the bar on her own as well as the restaurant!
I brought my mum and dad Motown tickets which they went to last Friday they had a great time said they would love to go again great food and staff couldn't do enough for you thank you �

Great improvements since I last visited. Finally a happy face behind the bar, Shan was polite cheerful and very good at her job. I’ll be back, it’sa wonderful building and now it seems like it is being run properly.
The staff are very friendly and professional, I’ll definitely return! Shan and Elirose are very attentive, nothing is too much for them! Made my experience great! I recommend you pop in to the sun for a drink! :)
I went to view the location for a prospective event.
It was beautiful, the lady on the desk, Angela, was so helpful. She had so much knowledge about the venue and it's History.
She made get suggestions about what could be done there and gave us exciting examples.

My room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with all the amenities I could possibly want. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept like a baby every night. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a powerful shower and plenty of fluffy towels.
The hotel's restaurant was a particular highlight of my stay, with a menu full of delicious dishes that were expertly prepared and presented. The breakfast buffet was a real treat, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes.

Popped in for a meal with my son as an impromptu treat. The restaurant has been redecorated since I last visited and looks really good. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken promptly. My sons steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, and I had the delicious Chicken and Ham hock pie. Also brilliantly cooked. The service was great, the ambiance was perfect and we had a lovely meal. Will definitely be back again soon. It has very much improved
Hitchin is a lovely town and the hotel is very central. The staff were really friendly and very accommodating even though I arrived before the check in time, there were no worries leaving bags etc.

Lovely atmosphere, a very large seating area inside, and a nice quiet seating area outside. Friendly staff and very clean throughout. Reasonable prices also.
Stayed for a night for work. Rooms were cleaned to a good standard and were warm. Electric heater in the room as standard. Corridors are a bit uneven and windy but the place has lovely character as you'd expect from a building this old. Friendly and welcoming service by all the staff and especially from Evans during the breakfast service. Located right in the centre with free parking. Would definitely recommend.
I didn't stay here but I can really endorse the food gorgeous fish and chips great desserts and beautifully served by the superb nicky! 💕
The reception ladies are very attentive,and helpful and the room I stayed in was clean and tbe bed was comfortable.
We had a lovely evening here at the sun. Myself and 3 others came for a catch up, We had a very sweet young lady called El, she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. compliments to the chef! His food was delicious. The mini desert with a coffee was a great treat! We will definitely be back!
Only thing that was disappointing was they seemed to be very short staffed as the young lady serving us was called to the reception desk. That left us waiting for a while for our deserts.
