This little place is one of those hidden gems. Really good fish and chips, the way it should be done, cooked fresh and served hot.
Attended yesterday, busy at 1830 hours. Hard to park, the customer service was friendly I had fish, chips, and curry sauce. It was ok well cooked the chips were nice.
The fish was not bad, a bit pricy but I get it as nothing is chip. The service was fast.

Lived by the sea all my life, so I know what good fish and chips are. Great fish and chips and not greasy at all plus fast, friendly service. Fish wasn't the freshest and portion sizes are a bit small. There is a lack of fish and chip shops in the area, so it's good that this one does a half decent
By far the best quality and most tasty fish and chips in Hitchin - though a little pricey, but you know what you’re getting and they’re always consistent! For me curry sauce and mushy peas is also very important and not many places south of the Midlands usually do a good job of these, but Polcaro’s

Simply the best fish and chips in the area. We would go out of our way to come here for our fish and chips. Add to that the staff and owner who are so welcoming and friendly. Never had a bad experience and really couldn't recommend them highly enough
Cooked to order..... I have had both cod and haddock here. Fish was very fresh, boneless, and cooked to order. Lovely crispy chips too. No excess oil on the paper and not at all greasy tasting. We will be returning. Great value for money.

Haven’t had fish and chips for ages, popped in on the way home. Have to say, was THE BEST fish and chips I have had the pleasure of eating in years! The haddock was perfectly cooked, batter light and crispy accompanied with chips also just right. Last time I enjoyed such standards was the OLD Taylor
