Hands down best pub in Hitchin for good beer, always a decent and varied selection on offer
The half moon is a must visit pub if you're ever in this part of the world. I was working here for a couple of months and always had a pint when I could. The staff were really friendly and gotta give a shout out to Freddie the man. What a legend. Get down here folks ��

Great pub our second visit for birthday celebrations. Good selection of beers and they couldn't be more accommodating in preparing food for 9 of us together. Great tapas selection alongside more standard pub grub. Lively atmosphere with a good age range of punters!

Love the Half moon, great food as well as drinks and such fantastic staff!! Love that they remember your name, drink as well as have conversations with you after only a few times of being in here!! Can't fault them!
I've been a loyal customer since moving to North Herts in 2008. This place is so easy going and welcoming . Staff are lovely . Best looking bar maids in Herts for sure. They remember your name in 2 visits and know what sort of beers you like . Ale quality is the best. Less Oakhams though !

Lovely traditional pub, come here a lot with family and dogs. However, no toilet paper in ladies tonight�� not nice.

We've visited these guys twice to attend a beard competition held there and what a great and friendly reception we had both times. Everyone was helpful and the beer and food is great....we"ll be back again

I was working in Hitchin and decided to pop in for a quiet pint. I rarely get the chance of a decent ale here in Northern Ireland so I always grab the opportunity where I can. The staff clearly have a passion and a knowledge of the regular and guest beers on offer which they put across without appearing condescending. I was impressed with the ease that the girls make you feel at home.
I look forward to visiting again.

Been going to their bi annual beer festivals for the last 9 years and I've lived back in Swansea for the last 6 years. That must tell you something.
It's our local. And we love it. A traditional pub with loads of events through out the year!
Impressive range of real ales, (and plenty of other beers if that's not your bag). Lots of friendly punters, a large and well used outside space / beer garden. Good, swift service from friendly staff. Clean toilets. Decent! I'll be back!

I've been to the Half Moon half a dozen times when visiting Hitchin and loved it every time. The bar staff are friendly and Freddie the owner is very helpful and chatty ☺️ There are always at least 4 guest beers if not more, and they are always great condition. Best real ale pub in Hitchin, always was, still is. Also has red stripe on tap because..... Hitchin. If anything it should get 6 stars for this alone.
Great beer, traditional family friendly pub, regular music events and lovely staff. Making the most of the outdoor space and serving simple snack food like cheese boards.

We loved there. When hitched visit, we have been there. We were very lucky because live music was there. We danced, listed music. Kids were very happy. Good atmosphere.
