Peer in through a misty window, and find a bit of old fashioned comfort. I often find these tea rooms difficult to judge - as from a modern perspective you're surrounded by clutter and antique crockery of your nan's generation, but the food and drink is where the quality shows, and this particular place doesn't disappoint. Friendly, helpful staff served up one of the best English Breakfasts I've had in ages, along with a decent selection of hot beverages - of which a cafetière-for-two was an unusual, but comforting homely option. Would absolutely recommend you pop in to this little gem - and I'll definitely be back.

We booked in for full afternoon tea with family and had a thoroughly enjoyable visit. The freshly made finger sandwiches were very tasty and the cakes were delicious and all beautifully presented. The scones and clotted cream finished it off beautifully although we did need a doggy box as there was plenty. The friendly staff looked after us beautifully and I would certainly recommend a visit. We have visited before and eaten off the menu and were equally well looked after and enjoyed the food. We will be back soon!!!

A delightful tea room uniquely decorated for a fabulous afternoon tea. We were welcomed by such friendly and attentive staff who bought out our afternoon tea straight away. We had a variety of sandwiches, a lovely selection of cakes of which were so scrumptious. The best lemon cake we've tasted! Then finished off with warm scones with cream and jam as well as unlimited tea. It was a wonderful visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely visit Molly's Tea Room again for afternoon tea or a slice of one of their tasty cakes!

I Popped in with my little girl for a cream tea! All the tables were reserved so I think it might be best to do so if you would like a table but I was welcomed to sit down as there was some time before they were being used so I guess just popping in anyway is ok too. As you walk in you are just hit with the gorgeous smell of freshly baked cake! I enjoyed a cream tea and it was delicious. The tea is served in a quirky little teapot and adorable tea cups and saucers. They offer an afternoon tea which is bookable 24hours in advance so I really would love to go back and try this. The amount of gorgeous looking cakes and brownies were amazing! I highly recommend a visit here!

I was at a friends baby shower and we hired out the whole tea room. The place was beautiful and so relaxing with lovely oldie music playing in the background. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious. The staff were so attentive and helpful. A truly lovely afternoon. Thank you.

My two daughters and I came in for afternoon tea yesterday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was a little slower than some places but we enjoyed that because it gave us time to catch up and enjoy our tea. Molly was lovely and gave my 14 year another little lemon curd cake because she loves lemon curd. It's little things like that which make a place stand out from the crowd. The price was very reasonable and the atmosphere wonderful. We shall most defiantly be back. Thanks again Molly. Xx

Had my little birthday tea party there yesterday 17th, with my 2 sisters and bestie, table looked lovely when we arrived and teapot and cups all layed out , tea was served when arrived . We then had our sandwiches and cakes on stand , with tea being topped up as we chatted and laughed ,staff took photos for us and chatted . And the when we were fit to burst we were served scones and jam, with clotted cream wow ! Couldn't fault it excellent .

A one off. In a town heaving with coffee shops (Hitchin) both independent and chain, Molly's is unique. Along with excellent fresh brewed teas and coffees, all the cakes are home made and delicious. But the added extra is the nostalgia! Even we are not old enough to remember the 40s and 50s but this creates a lovely ambience. This is Molly's baby and you feel well looked after. Nero's it isn't!

My wife and I were in Hitchin for just one day. I had to have a scone while in the UK so we popped in to Molly’s for a spot of tea. The scones with clotted cream and jam were lovely as was the tea. The service was nice, everything was served with a smile! Molly’s is a nice local tea room worthy of a visit. If we find ourselves in Hitchin again we will absolutely stop by Molly’s for tea and scones!

Beautiful, traditional little tea room in the heart of Hitchin with a lovely vintage feel. We were treated to an afternoon tea for two after being gifted a voucher and thoroughly enjoyed it. Generous portion and the staff kindly offered to box up leftovers in a takeaway box for us. The scones were soft and warm, the sandwiches were lovely and the cakes gorgeous. The tea was piping hot and came in a lovely teapot. Love the attention to detail here. Such friendly, kind staff too. Thank you!

Fantastic afternoon teas (beautiful sandwiches, cakes and scones) delivered to 6 locations for our small team meeting this afternoon as a thankyou to our staff for all their efforts. A fantastic local business providing great service and at a challenging time. Would thoroughly recommend your afternoon tea delivery service for your friends, family and staff teams to show you appreciate them.

Decided to go for a cuppa and a piece of cake - yep, the calorie counting went out the window! The staff seemed wary of me - cannot think why. I ended up ordering at the counter instead of waiting for the waitress service provided - I wasn't sure whether it was waitress service or not, when I entered the place! After a few minutes, I was presented with a piece of red velvet cake and a pot of tea, cup and saucer and milk. All quite quaint. Unfortunately, I did not feel comfortable in there, but I would give the place another go!

Very enjoyable first visit. Lemon and blueberry cake deliciously moist. Pot of perfectly brewed tea made two cups. Sadly, the group I hoped to meet there didn't turn up. Their loss!
