My husband and I hired The Groundworks on New Year’s Eve to celebrate our joint 30th birthdays and 10 year anniversary, and it was perfect. From starting the planning to the night itself, the team made everything so easy and simple for us - nothing was too much trouble. We were able to request particular cocktails for the menu and our event manager, Sophie, ensured that the bar was stocked with everything we wanted. They took care of our playlist for the evening and let us change the songs when we wanted to get people up and moving. We were able to pin up photos and lights, and we were even able to hang a disco ball. We were also helped to dish out the cake. The 3 ladies working at the event were also so helpful and friendly and only contributed to the amazing experience. They took our photos, made sure drinks were replenished and served quickly and dealt with everything professionally but, in the most easy going way. We can’t have been easy to deal with as the night went on! I would highly recommend The Groundworks for private events. The whole experience was a delight from start to finish and I would hire it again in a heartbeat in the future. Thanks guys!

We visited this bank holiday weekend. Although we arrived after the breakfast menu cut off time we was told we could still order breakfast as that was what we really wanted. My eldest and 1 had poached eggs on toast (soda bread). The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and looked to have been done traditionally in boiling water. My youngest had scrambled eggs on white toast. She loved them. They looked and tasted so creamy and well seasoned. I would highly recommend people visit here for breakfast. I can't comment on their lunch menu as we havent tried it yet but can guarantee we will be going back soon to find out ☺

I was lucky enough to win the brunch competition, the communication was great, and my hamper arrived beautifully presented and in immaculate condition. Thanks so much for my yummy treats! X

Amazing amazing amazing! Held my birthday party here and the team were brilliant. Helped set up the venue and poured delicious drinks, served delicious canapés, made amazing cocktails and ensured everything ran smoothly. Such a great space and able to play whatever music I wanted!! Would highly recommend especially the chorizo and quails egg canapé!!!

Went here for brunch with some friends and I had the sourdough toast with scrambled egg and bacon and then the nduja tater tots on the side. I enjoyed and probably would go back. They don’t take bookings but we didn’t have to wait long for a table.

The food is really good. I had the Groundworks breakfast and asked to replace the mushroom by another egg. My partner had the avocado on toast with two poached eggs. We both had coffee also. The food was nice but this place is slightly more expensive than the usual and I didn't felt it was worth the extra price. We also had a visit to the bathroom and was clean, so that was pleasant. The decor is really nice also, I enjoyed that. As I said not sure is worth the higher price considering the other places around.

Food was spot on, very pretty and very tasty. Nice variety too for breakfast/lunch. Service was mixed, some good some average. Cutlery was dirty over and over again, which does leave an icky feeling when the food comes.

Been here a few times and I always get the scrambled egg on sourdough toast. It's delicious! The scrambled eggs are so soft and fluffy it's like they melt in your mouth. Staff are friendly and helpful. I will be back for more 😁

Small, friendly cafe serving high quality drinks and food. Approximately 8 to 10 tables outside, inside approx 15 covers. On a Saturday morning we waited 15 minutes for a table, but no shortage of customers queueing despite lots of neighbouring competition which indicates high regard. My Groundworks breakfast was delicious, high quality sausage and bacon, perfect egg (I chose poached), tasty tomatoes etc.Young staff were friendly though perhaps a little too keen to clear plates before all of us had finished. Nevertheless well worth stopping by.
