Me and my now husband had our wedding reception at Buttercream and I honestly can't describe how perfect it was...we had decided to have a small intimate reception with 27 guests, and wanted something more informal than a sit down hotel type meal/ venue, so we had decided on afternoon tea.
I had been there for an afternoon tea and loved the food and the whole ambience of the place - very cosy and with a vintage style theme.
As soon as we met Jean & Ruth I knew we were in good hands! They are such warm and friendly ladies and take such great passion and pride in their business ( I wanted somewhere where I felt I got the personal touch , not somewhere cold and corporate). They listened to all our preferences and helped and advised us excellently.
The actual day couldn't of been more perfect..everything was exactly as I wanted and had asked for ( the ladies have great taste!) the decor and tables were presented beautifully.
The food was amazing! ( all my guests couldn't compliment enough! Not only delicious but wonderfully presented . Jean is an excellent chef and makes everything home made so it has that extra special touch and taste !
She also made our wedding cake which was spectacular and again all our guests couldn't compliment it enough!
I really can't thank Jean and Ruth and the buttercream team enough for giving us our perfect wedding reception. I can't recommend it enough as well for a wedding reception. Once again thank you so much ! ���
Could not recommend this place enough! Ruth was an amazing host to my friends baby shower. We had the place to ourselves and were treated so well. We had the afternoon tea. The food was delicious and exceptional value for money! Will definitely be returning ���
Myself and my best friend came for our Christmas meal today (a little late I know) staff fantastic food unbelievable and venue perfect

Amazing afternoon at Buttercream tea rooms
Delicious cream tea/cakes are to die for i would highly recommended its a must visit, all the staff are so friendly & make you feel welcome,
I went for an afternoon tea with my other half and 7 year old. All staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious.They did an amazing job catering for my egg allergy and provided some tasty alternatives: cheese and tomato tart instead of quiche, jelly with cream instead of trifle and an egg free scone and cupcake along with finger sandwiches, salad, fruit and shortbread hearts. I will definitely be visiting again!
Early Father Days pressie from the wife afternoon tea was to die for and the waitresses super nice and friendly recommend a visit to anyone �
Had afternoon tea here for my grandmothers 91st bday. We had a fabulous time and the ambience staff were fabulous. In all honesty I have never had a jacket potato that tasted so good in all my life. The taste buds didn’t finish there though however as the scones with jam and cream were also out of this world. The next time I’m in Hinckley I’ll definitely be stopping off and paying them a visit again.

Excellent service . Went in for afternoon tea ,but hadn't booked . The ladies were lovely accommodating us . They didn't have what they normally servered so menu was slightly different .
We had sandwiches ,quiche,salad,scones, mini trifle ,brownies,sponge cake all served with a big pot of tea and my other daughter had coffee . It was gorgeous. Served on proper china plates and cups and saucers . Yum yum
Came to the Buttercream Tearoom for the Peter Rabbit afternoon tea today and loved it! The staff were so friendly and so much thought and effort had gone into the food which was absolutely delicious. Both my children said they had a lovely time and we will definitely be back for lunch/afternoon tea soon. Thank you!

Lovely place, lovely afternoon tea. The best I have had! One of us asked for gluten and dairy free options and the selection was so good! Toilets were brilliant, baby changing facilities excellent - all you need and more! Staff are brilliant! Really really lovely afternoon thank you �

I had my baby shower here a few months ago and it was absolutely perfect. Such a beautiful tea room and the staff were so lovely and friendly. The afternoon tea was delicious and they catered for all dietary requirements. I can't wait to return (we popped in today but you were fully booked,) will book next time! X

Stunning place for a baby shower or gathering! Very quaint! Lovely afternoon tea, everything was beautifully fresh! Very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble! X
Myself and my newborn daughter have become a bit of a regular here since embarking on my maternity leave, and there is no lovelier place to spend a morning or afternoon drinking coffee, eating cake and meeting friends. They cater for a multitude of dietary requirements which makes it convenient to meet up with a variety of friends and I’ve always felt comfortable breastfeeding my daughter in here. See you soon! X

Oh my - what a wonderful experience. Ruth & the staff were so friendly & accommodating. The food was presented do beautifully, & it was totally delicious. The 2 vegetarians & 1 'no butter' were very grateful too. Definitely be going again, and really looking forward to attending a Burlesque Night! Thanks Ruth & others xx

Lovely accommodating staff, delicious food, great experience. Our group included 1 vegetarian, 1 coeliac and 2 babies and we were made to feel totally welcome, not a hindrance at all. Thank you, we'll be back....again!
Had a wonderful night on Saturday at the Burlesque night. Food & service was excellent, absolutely brilliant highly recommend. Well done ladies & gents.

Absolutely fantastic! First time here and would definitely go again. I booked a birthday afternoon tea and couldn't fault it one bit. Lovely little tearoom. Staff greeted us at the door and were super friendly (very attentive the whole time) sat us down at a table they had decorated for us free of charge. Food was all home made and so tasty, sadly we couldn't finish it all but was offered a take out box to put the rest into which was fab!
My husband ordered takeaway afternoon tea for my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious (I'm a fussy eater) and my plate was empty in no time. I would recommend Buttercream Tearoom to anyone. 5 stars for us.
Visited today with my daughter for afternoon tea. Can't fault the service,food or surroundings. Even gluten free was a good as non gluten free. China cups and saucers and a "proper" teapot made the experience feel very special too. First visit but definitely not the last.
I have just visited the tearoom and even though i knew i was late in the day they served me like the first. The lemon cake i had was moist and fresh while the latte i had was equally superb. If this is the standard of service at the end of the day it just shows the customer comes first.
Perfect location for our Afternoon Tea for a family get together combined with a mini hen do, fab selection on the traditional and savoury teas. Plus, the gluten-free option was yummy too. Adding prosecco was a fantastic addition to make the afternoon more special. Highly recommended for lovely staff and awesome food, thank you Sally.
Really liked this tea room. Lunch was delicious, good selection, afternoon tea to order, more seating around the back. A hidden gem off the Main Street via the courtyard. Will visit again :)
Visited today for a light lunch with Debs. I had the Gammon, Egg and Chips, which was lovely. Debs had a pot of tea, a bowl of chips, and then finished with a gorgeous scone.
I also had a vanilla milkshake which was unreal, tasted so good! The ladies serving were lovely too.
All in all as with my previousd visits, everything was great. Thouraghly recommended.
Went in for cake and a drink with my daughter, mentioned it was her birthday and they put a candle in her cake and sang happy birthday to her. Was so very nice of them and very thoughtful. Will definitely return.
Brought my mum here for afternoon tea. The food was delicious. Portions were perfect almost to much we had to take some home. The hostesses were warm and friendly. Pricing was less by considerable sum compared to other places so that was a very pleasant surprise. They do all their baking on premises so all the cakes are fresh and yummy. It’s tucked away on a side street so just entering the establishment feels quaint and perfectly British. It’s a little slice of heaven.
We come here often, the food is amazing and the staff go out of there way to make sure you have a lovely time. Highly recommended.
