Lovely pub in a great spot, plenty of parking. We were fortunate enough to be able to eat outside ( the sun even shone for a while) under the wisteria.
Friendly staff, good food. We will return.
Enjoyed Sunday Lunch. We ate the Roast Pork & Beef. I like the separate bowl of vegetables. Good service and beer too.
So full, couldn't manage a pud.
Wonderful birthday dinner. Friendly service. We sat on the terrace in the sunshine . All 7 of us had a really tasty meal.
Sunday lunch here with friends yesterday was, as always, superb! Couldn't fault it & the generous bowl of varied vegetables, all cooked to perfection, was a real treat.
We had the bread & butter pudding to follow, a knickerbocker glory & sticky toffee pudding - all were very generous portions.

They rang us before our booking to warn about road closures etc, very helpful. Lovely meal, we all had the beef. Compliments to the chef. The veg could have been roasted but that's my only let down
Lovely lovely Sunday roast dinner. I came for the lamb, but unfortunately they had none on the menu today. We changed to the beef that was so tender, as was the leg of pork. So nice to have a selection of fresh veg with lots of gravy.
Finished off with sticky toffee pudding and coffee 👍👍👍👍.

Food was excellent- ribs were brilliant with Athena most tasty Chinese style bbq sauce, steak was cooked perfectly. Enjoyed the puddings also.
Service was good and was served without delays.

Just acquired a new rescue dog we could not leave at home, so really pleased to be able to bring her to the snug bar at The Jolly Tar. A really nice area, tastefully decorated and delicious food. We did book in advance as they can be full in the other section for meals and limit the numbers for foo
A lovely pub with friendly staff, the food was amazing, my husband said that the ribs were the best he'd ever had. My seabass was excellent too. Really good portion sizes as well. Would really recommend you to visit here if you're visiting the area.
Just stopped off for a quick drink on my way back from Swindon and found this pub purely by chance. It was vey friendly with a great selection of both ales and gin. Will certainly return, probably for a meal next time
Food was wonderful as well as atmosphere. It was peaceful but reasonably busy. Fairly slow in swrvicem probably due to difficulty in having enough staff but we'll worth the wait.
My favourite watering hole at any time of the year. From log fires in the winter, to balmy summer lunches amongst the vines. Good beer, good food, great hosts !
Loved it the ribs are possibly the best I have had. The merlot was very good. 5 stars have just been for sunday lunch and it was very very nice I had pork with crackling of course and the meat was melt in the mouth good. It came with loads of veg and the plates were warm !! ( that alone gets
