Wow just wow what a great find!
Stopped for a quick coffee on route to the parents but after reading the menu we couldn't help ourselves, we had to try the goods. We ended up having the most amazing lunch and the options were thoughtful and original. We are both vegetarian but I also have a gluten issue, and for the first time eating out wasn't an issue. The staff were friendly, chatty and helpful and even our dog got given a sausage and a bowl of fresh water. Well done cliffhanger for offering something different compared to every other cafe/restaurant in the area, can't wait to shout your praises to family and friends. We will see you again on our next visit down from Winchester. Many thanks Nyk & Claire.
After a long drive, we arrived for breakfast,
Lovely view, lovely food and lovely staff, highly recommend
Very lovely view of the sea. good service great food reasonably priced! I would recommend going :)
Had a lovely evening tonight, Crab on the Cliff (voucher won on a raffle at Abba tribute 8/6/2018) food was delicious, service was great and the waiter was lovely to, would definitely go back again
I recently organised a School Class Reunion in the Upper Level of the Cliffhanger! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful or attentive while we enjoyed Afternoon Tea. I’d highly recommend this as a venue to anyone planning the same sort of gathering!!
We all Had a fab night. Food was excellent and such good value for money. Nicky and the staff were so friendly and they looked after us all so well. The customer service was perfect!! Would recommend 😊
Went as walk ins for Mother’s Day breakfast. Staff were excellent, very courteous and efficient. Restaurant was full but we didn’t have to wait too long to be served or for breakfast to arrive.
Had a great evening Friday night Whitney was a great tribute loved her 👍 Food was good and Sam our waiter was lovely, fun a very good made our evening great thank you 😘 Can't wait for another night out at the cliffhanger with my friends 🤗👏💃🏽🍾
Great night great food and staff A1 will be back family had a great party music was great as well
What a lovely place. We were made to feel very welcome as if we were old friends. The food was awesome too, a small menu it may be, but it was deliciously different and the desserts were amazing too, we recommend this little gem to anyone. I'm sure we will be back next time we are in Dorset
Lunchtime at the cliffhanger was a great experience for 4 . Food was tasty & good size portions. Staff friendly on arrival & at service .
Had a lovely lunch here after a trip to the beach. Between us we had veggie sausages, chips and beans from the children's menu, a ciabatta, chips, latte, hot chocolate, Dorset apple cake, millionaire's shortbread and the warm chocolate brownie dessert. All very tasty. Friendly staff member (we think Amanda) served us with a smile throughout.
Great breakfast with a great view, would strongly recommend! Had a wonderful breakfast here, staff were very attentive and friendly, with great food and lovely coffee! I went for the Edge Pancakes which were one of the best I’ve had in a while, food was hot just as it should be, egg was cooked perfectly. Nice to sit in the bay window on a windy day watching the world go by. Nice decor inside, comfortable seating. Would advise booking or arriving first thing as this does get a little busy. Overall 5 stars all round!
Extraordinary views of the sea while enjoying wonderful fare. For us the classic fish and chips with a nicely chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio.
Very nice place, amazing views, but the public toilet is very gross, smells very bad, dirty and no water in the sink. Highly disappointed 😞
A small restaurant on top of the hills. The portions of the food are super great. The location and atmosphere depends on the day you visit, for us it was the usual beautiful gloominess.
Drawbacks are that there are many wasps 🐝 on the hunt for food. Given that this is one of the only restaurant here, expect some guests at your table.
Have been to the Cliffhanger a few times now and it never disappoints, I love looking out the window at the sea (even if its wet and windy out there) The staff are very friendly and the food is always very fresh and tasty and the coffee is also good!
We visited this hidden gem of a restaurant 3 times during our recent stay in Dorset, once for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The setting is just amazing; for breakfast we sat out on the terrace and were treated to lovely sunshine and stunning panoramic sea views. The food and drink on each occasion was fresh, tasty and well presented and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We can't wait to come back on our next trip to Dorset which will hopefully be very soon. Special mention to Rosie and Martin who were extremely accommodating and made us feel like VIPs as they seem to do with all their valued customers. Would highly recommend if you you are either holidaying, a resident or just passing through!
Had a lovely evening at the cliffhanger last night for the Freddie Mercury. We had a table of 6 and it was the perfect location. Food was amazing! Staff were so friendly and helpful. Really fun evening!
Very nice place for a quite beer and people watch great views and looked like very good food will defo be back
We came here for a special occasion and they were helpful and flexible with our table booking. We sat in the dog friendly area with good views of the seaside and as far as the Isle of Wight!
The staff were friendly and kept an eye on us without being intrusive. I would say though, when you're paying £15+ for a main course, I would expect table service and not ordering at the desk.
Food was on the pricey side for what it is. Fish and chips were £18, and although it tasted good and wasn't greasy, I've never seen such a high price for this dish. There's certainly other places in the area you'd pay less for the same quality. We had the camembert which was delicious but lacked enough bread to dip in with. I had a veggie ciabatta which was okay but with only 2 pieces of grilled pepper and pesto inside it, I wasn't sure if it was worth over £10. This restaurant is good if you like seafood but not so much for other pallets.
Overall, we thought it was overpriced but might come back on special occasions when we want to admire the sea view.
Beautiful place, specially today, where we had all four seasons in the space of four hours.
Our two dogs love it too. One climbs and plays on the dry sand, the other loves the water and to lay down and observe.
Perfect parking, and nice café.
Today we had the privilege to see little rabbits grazing as they enjoyed the sunshine.
As usual food is up to a high standard with stunning views and lovely friendly staff
Loved the food and service from here. The portions were really good!!!
We had a lovely meal. Great food and staff were very friendly; they found some chalks so the kids could do some colouring in. There are absolutely beautiful views from the restaurant and surrounding areas. Parking is pay and display via cash or mobile phone.
This is a great place with great views.
I come here a lot but today was told today that I don’t qualify for a loyalty card because I drink tea not coffee.
Mmmmmm!
Otherwise would have had a 5 star review from me.
