Refurbished offering of a well established village pub.
Inside the pub is cosy and friendly with a horseshoe shaped bar.
The staff were attentive and friendly. Biggest improvement is the garden which is now comfortable and tidy.
Has always served a good pint, the 2 pints of Timothy Taylors I had were exceptional 👌.
Food was ok. Simple more than overwhelming.
Car park at the side and front (the front had a massive sink hole during the summer which is now repaired).
We went here after our walk over the fields nearby. A well needed drink and we had very good service. We missed the food as it had finished. We actually toasted to my dad who sadly died on Monday and he used to go to the Horse and Jockey a few years ago.
Great pub - relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Good quality pub food served with a smile at a fair price. We’ll definitely be going again!
A lovely place to stop into. Great local beers available and sensible prices
Back again to enjoy a delightful pint on a sunny afternoon. After a major refit the place has massively improved inside and out . The front garden seating area is the place to head for. Well worth a visit
Nice traditional pub. Friendly bar staff. Haven't tried the food yet. Going to later this week
If you've not yet been, go! A great place to spend time with good mates.. With a welcoming team, excellent atmosphere, great choice of beers and lovely garden areas to enjoy the outdoors, if you haven't yet been - go!
Lovely clean village pub with a warm cheers kind of atmosphere, recently refurbished.
Our food was tasty , nicely presented and great value .
An excellent pub. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere and lovely food.
A propper pub and one we are luck to have retained, Friday night live music is the highlight of the village pubs
Proper pub, nothing hoity toity. A place that sells good beer and shows the occasional rugby match.
Best pub I’ve been to in years. Staff are great
Blooming fantastic Friday evening at the horse and jockey live music great atmosphere wonderful crowd in ,great bar staff lead by the fantastic Alex👌
Huuuuge improvement from the new landlady. Looks great and had a good atmosphere.
Well worth a visit
Walking the Chilterns we traversed this small village with 3 pubs. The Horse & Jockey is a small pleasant pub tucked away by the church. 3 real ales on offer, the one sampled was a fresh barrel well served in excellent condition. Friendly bar staff. Does pub food which we didn't sample. Worth another visit.
Been here a few times now & we just can't get enough. Accommodating, food is 10/10 & the staff are just so laid back & friendly. Would highly recommend if you want a pool night or out for a game of darts! I always the girl up there now! ❤❤
Love a 'proper' local. Always a friendly welcome. Cosy village pub, with well kept ales...
Loved this pub. Friendly locals who enjoy a good chin wag
