We went with family for a birthday lunch and the food was fantastic, had Sunday lunch and the lamb I had was perfectly cooked, they even catered for a special diet that one of our party had.
Lovely food great service
Thank you
The food was absolutely amazing. The friendly service and the lovely pub was such a amazing place to go. Would recommend highly
Great family run pub with excellent food, friendly atmosphere and within perfect walking distance I would highly recommend with lovely pub
Stumbled across this great pub with its wartime memorabilia after a day out fox hunting.we were served the most delicious fayre by a somewhat camp waiter who poured the most perfect pint I've ever seen. I've ordered my niece to marry him.
I love this place! One of the last proper family pubs left. My 3 year old loves it, I love it and so does my boyfriend. Relaxed, traditional and good selection of drinks. The food is excellent! Good price, good portions and fantastic taste.
Great pub. Great food. Great bar staff! Would recommend!
Great Traditional English pub, lovely staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely coming back!
We were Looking for somewhere to take our son who is at Uni in High Wycombe. Great Sunday dinner, big portions, fairly priced and great service. Well done. We will definitely come again!
Friendly atmosphere, great bar staff and fantastic food, what's not to love! :)

The best roasts in Bucks, especially for value! Just wish they had more roast potatoes!
Top boozer!!! Great friendly staff, good ale!!! What more do you need
Best pub in Wycombe! Been a regular for 15+ years and it ticks all the boxes whether you are a local or a visitor.
Too bad you're so far away !
Stopped here for lunch on the way to Lymington. Glad I did a bit of research looking for a proper pub with good food and friendly service. Proper steak and kidney pud here.
Very nice pub, great atmosphere, felt very welcome, the food was just right for us, love all the Deco so many interesting things and kids and dog friendly.
Would defo recommend
Lovely Sunday lunch lots of fresh veg roasties were good and lots of gravy, my only criticism was the beef was overcooked i like mine pink but there was lots of it and very good value for money
Stumbled across this place looking for something to eat at 4pm, a tricky time. We got lucky, big time. It was a Thursday and that meant Thai-day at the generals. We had the duck tamarind and the green curry. Wow! I know it's a cliche but it was the best Thai food outside of Thailand. Have to go back and bring friends. Shame it's limited to Thursdays and Saturdays. Great selection of beers on tap too. Maybe the food on other days ain't so bad either?
Consistency is the key word here. Yes, there are better restaurants but the minted lamb shank Sunday roast at The General Havelock is ALWAYS good
A party of 4 enjoyed a great get together on Monday lunchtime. Ribs all round, well priced and so tasty
Good tasting beer just a shame there were kids in there fairly late running about
Hadn't been there for years. Still a very nice pub.
A quaint, quirky establishment that embodied the "local pub" vibe. Inside there were several taxidermy features, vegans may not be keen, and friendly patrons sat at the bar making conversation with us and each other while drinking their drinks. Despite the crowd at the bar not needing to be served, the staff were quick to notice us though and we were never left waiting.
They were serving Thai food while there, had the Pad Thai whilst my friends had small plates, the quantity to cost ratio was definitely in my favour as I spent less and left full, whilst they fought over the last spring roll.
Would recommend giving the pub a go if you enjoy supporting local business.
Awesome Sunday lunch at an awesome price! Service and atmosphere were great! We will be back!
Make reservations ahead of time if you don't mind hanging at the bar or giant garden while waiting for a table
Brilliant, this is an excellent pub with very helpful staff. We went there as a group of 8, popped the money behind the bar and sat back and relaxed. We gave a nod when we were ready for the next round and it was ready to collect each time without fail. Some of us ordered food, it arrived lovely and hot and delicious. This is one of those rare pubs where they take care of you and the banter is good. Highly recommended.
Absolutely love this little pub, it’s just down the road from my workplace so we come here often for lunches and drinks after work. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and there’s a good atmosphere. The garden is lovely in the summer and definitely worth a visit. Drinks are reasonably priced and their food is great value for money and always really tasty. They currently have salt and pepper chicken in bbq sauce on their specials which I would definitely recommend. Overall a lovely little local pub which I love to visit regularly and would recommend to anyone in the area!
Lovely,Friendly atmosphere nice pint .Went for Sunday lunch ,Proper food, Real roasties, none of the fake deep fried one's. The veg was cooked to perfection, My wife had the Beef and I had the Chicken, plenty of both, can not find fault .DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. Thanks for a lovely experience.
Great pub and lovely food. On Thursday and Saturday they have Thai food. It is amazing. The service is always great, they have a beer garden and car park. Attached is my duck thai curry takeway from there - last Saturday. 10/10.
Really friendly owners and staff, we felt well looked after the whole time. Classic pub food, perfect as a stop on our long drive.
First time I every been there and landlord I believe called Mark welcomed us both explained the app and told us how to set it up. Very friendly pub. People were friendly to landlord was talking to his customers like they were his best mates.
Toilets and garden was very clean and tidy glasses were cleared away as soon as staff saw them empty highly recommended for a local community pub well done to the landlord and his staff
Really unique old fashioned pub, friendly, great range of traditional ales(Fullers), good food and fascinating decoration. Nice sized garden with marquee and comfortable indoor seating.
Car park to rear and on street parking.
