We dropped in after walking our dog and received a very warm welcome. We had planned to go out for a meal that evening so decided to try The Old Bell!!! We had a lovely meal and I ended mine with the Flaming Creme Brulee (?). It was indeed Flaming and incredibly delicious!!! Will definitely go back!!! My pork loin I could have cut with my fork. Well done!!!!!!!
Wonderful place, love it, the food and the kind hospitality showed to us by all. Even opened the kitchen after close to accommodate tired and hungry travelers. Especially loved Rosie the Westie! Thanks to all for such a great experience. Will return! Tina and James Dwyer, Phoenix AZ USA
Great place to eat, drink and relax! Yum food and cosy sat by fire with a drink on these freezing cold evenings! Would highly recommend :)
Thank you Helen, Conor et al for accommodating 44 soggy Santa’s for breakfast today! Just what we needed post-run! xx
What a great atmosphere today :) friendly staff, a beautiful sunny garden and music!
Stayed at this lovely Inn last night following an amazing wedding. Congratulations Ricky and Charlotte Gittings.
This place is fantastic and the staff are amazing- highly recommended!!!
Thank you Helen and Ian, take away burgers!! What a great idea. Dog walk followed by a Friday pint(s)in our fav local AND Dog is happy to be home stretched out in her bed while we enjoy Ian’s take away food. Yum, yum, win, win!
It's a great place to eat, have a casual drink, cuddle up with Rosie by the fire.. ( that's the resident dog! ) warm and friendly atmosphere !!
Ett helt underbart litet klassiskt engelskt hotell.
Trevlig och mysig pub i markplan.
Great place to eat, relaxing surroundings and adorable Rosie the pub dog
Good food and a lovely restaurant and setting. Very friendly staff. Incredibly relaxing evening
Great place to eat and relax by the open fire. Roast beef lunch was yummy
Excellent village pub, great food and a warm welcome. Well worth a visit!
The roast lamb was superb.
Also recommend the flaming crime brulee'!
The best roast dinner for miles around and the service is excellent.
A fantastic pub / restaurant with amazing food and service. The new landlady and head chef have done an amazing job turning a pub that was so run down into a very popular pub. Well done to you both and your team. Got to be the best around. .
Lovely old pub with a large car park. Great seating area outside, but we sat indoors. Food was excellent and huge portions. They also serve my favourite cocktail 🍸. The couple who run the pub were very friendly and welcoming. Also, it's a dog friendly pub.
Stayed here for a night on business. Lovely little pub. The place incredibly well looked after and the staff were really friendly. You can tell that they put a lot of love into the place. Dinner a breakfast were good too.
Lovely country pub with fantastic food menu. Decent sized car park but local parking closeby if busy. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and attentive to your needs. Nice seating area outdoors and comfy indoors with real fire in winter. Sunday lunch is amazing, but be sure to book a table as it is extremely busy
Went for lunch for my birthday and sat outside as it was a lovely sunny day. The food & service were both excellent. The portions were really substantial and 3 of us struggled to finish our food. Would definitely go back.
We did a club run from the pub and the food and service was excellent. Daniella and her happy helpers made the catering look easy, (which as a club we know it is not). They made a serious effort to make sure the evening went without a hitch.
Thank you very much.
Lovely proper pub with great food and beer choices. Highly recommended. Didn't stay, had no idea it had rooms, do now.
During our holiday we ate at several pubs, but this was by far our favourite. The menu was varied, the food was delicious and the service was excellent, so friendly and welcoming. The pub itself is beautiful and charming. This was a great English pub experience. Our advice for ordering: nachos is big enough to share between two! We went back to this pub three times. Just delightful!
Only popped in for a drink. Beautiful place. Didnt know it was a b and b? The food that was coming out looked delicious. Looked at menu, only probkem was they had nothing for vegans and only one choice for vegetarians. A shame cis id love to of gone back to try there food.staff very friendly, place lovely and clean. Child friendly. Free parking
Went for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised by the choice on offer. Lunch menu was very reasonably priced and the portions were large. Good children's options also.
Good vibe inside the pub, nice 'old pub' feel.
Service was fantastic.
Will definitely return for food and/or drinks.
There was a nice atmosphere in this pub, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The skewer of piri piri chicken was nice, but not very spicy, and the chicken salad was disappointing. The chicken breast was slightly too dry and the salad was very underdressed. The Eton mess and chocolate brownie were excellent though.
Very friendly little pub ideal for a relaxing drink and food .. not a very big menu but ribeye steak tasted superb
Wonderful hospitality, flavoursome food and served piping hot. Average meal ÂŁ18-20.
The one thing I would recommend is to make the restaurant more welcoming and cosy (dimmed lighting, candles and blinds or curtains on all the windows. Nevertheless, we will definitely return.
The Bell, my forever local. Every time we visit we feel so welcomed, whether for a chilled Sunday drink, quench thirsting after walk drink, a luscious dinner, oh and Still need to try bingo on a Wednesday. Watson is always spoiled with a treat or 2 and plenty of attention. Your pub truly has a homely relaxed atmosphere.
Decided to have an impromptu evening meal out - Open on a Monday (unlike most other local eateries) Excellent meal, very lovely service. Thanx See you again.
Outstanding food, very friendly, attentive staff
I live locally to this pub but have only started coming here regularly for the past three months. On every occasion we have been warmly welcomed by the landlady who is extremely attentive and helpful. She clearly takes great pride in her pub and goes out of her way to accommodate you.
When I have come just for a couple of pints we have been offered any table we wish (contrary to a previous review I saw) even offering the large 6 seat table when there was only 2 people.
We had a Sunday roast with cousins three weeks ago which everyone agreed was amazing. The meat was cooked perfectly, loads of home made gravy and Yorkshire puddings the size of my head! It beat my previous favourite (the royal standard Forty Green). Last night we ate with several couples for my birthday. Again amazing service and food. An excellent cut of fillet steak cooked to perfection, (Chequers in Marlow now has a rival!!).
There are now three great pubs in the heart of Wooburn Green but The Old Bell tops them for me due to the high quality of food but most importantly the warm and friendly welcome from staff that are willing to make the effort to come and talk to you.
A proper, friendly, locals, village pub with the benefit of superb food. I couldn’t ask for any more!
First time to visit here after seeing great recommendations. Family lunch for 4 adults and 2 small children. Staff could not have been more welcoming 🙂. Also so attentive throughout our visit we were there almost 4 hours having moved after eating to continue drinking in the garden. Great choice of food dishes and a very good selection of wines. Food was fresh, very tasty and perfectly cooked. Will definitely be returning to visit again.
Excellent country pub. New owners - Great food at a decent price & very good ale (Rebellion IPA) all immaculately clean.
Very friendly helpful staff, and the outdoor area is lovely.
Tonight they had live music with a pianist & singer - excellent!
Love it
Best local pub by far - great food, GREAT service, fabulous landlady & landlord, excellent atmosphere too - it doesn't get better. There's a nice and comfy garden area at the back too, local beer is sold (which is also fabulous) and one feels "at home". The lovely landlady Daniela knows everyone (seemingly) and their preferences, as do the bar staff and everybody is always happy to have a little chat and make sure you're perfectly happy. Outstanding service with a smile and a kind word - always. Truly remarkable. One definitely gets the impression that the working atmosphere is good too, which is of course a feel-good bonus too. It's a happy and comfy place and just to walk in there brings a smile onto my face. The food is excellent and they make an amazing, authentic pizza in a proper pizza oven too - latest addition is a seriously big authentic South African braai in the outdoors area. OH - and they are all dog-friendly too... Just fabulous - my week isn't complete without a visit to The Old Bell Country Inn :). Thank-you!
