Visited today for a meal with family. Absolutley amazing! The new decor is very nice. And the food was top notch, very tasty! By far the best pub i've eaten in for years. And great staff too. We will be back!!
Fantastic food, very reasonable prices. beautiful soft bread starter, the breaded chicken escallops where divine with the pink peppercorn sauce. The chocolate brownie was so soft and fluffy . Couldn't have been nicer or more friendly staff a very busy place wish you all the best for the future .
Great little pub great food and great staff very polite and well mannered well recommend will definitely visit again
Absolutely beautiful restaurant.. cosy environment elegantly decorated and friendly staff.
The food was honestly delicious, one of the nicest 3 courses Ive ever had.
Great value for money too, will be bringing the whole family to this little gem.
Went there yesterday with my mother and had a good time. Food was excellent, as was the service, and I would definitely recommend this place.
Visited after reopening from the fire, can I say it is absolutely lovely from decor right down to food and lovely welcoming staff. We will be back everything was fabulous.
It's a lovely old traditional pub with friendly staff and gorgeous homemade traditional pub food never had a bad meal we love it. Always feel welcome
Great pub restaurant fabulous atmosphere, food as excellent quality at a great price toostaff were great also
We eat at the Bears Paw twice a week and we are never disappointed. The food is always first class and the service thanks to Mel and Jason. Keep up the good work.
Sneaky lunch yesterday with my wife (without the children), it was our first visit in 15 years and the food is still as good now as it was then. Definitely worth a visit
Dined here last night, great little place. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff, fantastic food and service, really enjoyed it. Thank you, certainly be back.
Loved this country pub. We passed it by chance, and so glad we stopped and had lunch. We sat outside in a lovely canopied area. Lovely atmosphere and the food was great. Staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommend this hidden gem.
So pleased we made the detour as the service, atmosphere and food was terrific. A gem of a find.
Brilliant! Very warm and welcoming pub however not always easy to get a last minute reservation even during the week but that shows how good it is here.
The staff couldn’t have done enough and everything is homemade. I had the pie and I was expecting the usual heavy pub pie but what I had was a flavourful and light pastry with amazing chips. My son loved his food and said it’s one of the best kids menus he seen.
Great beer too so what more can you ask for? We will definitely be back soon…
Please like if helpful👍 first visit here and very impressed. Lovely little country pub/eatery with great service and deliciously tasty food. There is an a la carte menu and a choice of a fixed menu of two or three courses. We chose the fixed menu which still offered plenty of choices at a reasonable cost. The service was friendly and fast too. We will definitely return to try out some of the other goodies on offer. We went on speck and although we got a table, this is a small place, quite busy on a weekday afternoon, so it might be best to reserve a table first.
Food was lovely the staff were amazing and could not do enough for you, maddie our server was knowledgeable about the menu, was very astute with allergies and alerting the kitchen to the fact we had a nut allergy in our party, and was very lovely to us during our meal. Would very much recommend and we will be back. Food was hot and fresh 😋
An absolute joy of a pub and well worth going for their Sunday Roast. The pub isn't far from the Lymm exit of the M6 and has an outdoor eating area, parking and all the trimmings of a gastropub inside (though I find the decor a little dated). The value of the roast is outstanding and it's rare that you get beef that is this tender. Food wise, it's homely and hearty. The soup was nice and creamy. Roast wise, I've mentioned the meat and feel the broccoli also needs praise. My only marks against were a Yorkshire pudding that I wish were bigger (as always) and a gravy that's a little watery for me. Desserts were fantastic with a perfect custard. There's also a lovely Bears Paw pale ale beer that I wish I could buy a few bottles of but sadly is made specially for the pub. Definitely would come again.
Lovely little place friendly and helpful with delicious food. My roast beef sandwich was fresh and generous. Service was excellent they went to extra trouble for my vegan friend to create a special sandwich.
Ended up here as the place we planned to eat in was fully booked. We had phoned ahead and to our relief, they squeezed us in at Bears. The place is a little quaint, not very big and had a pleasant, cosy feel. The food was nicely cooked and presented with veg cooked to perfection. We ordered a main and as we were still hungry, also a dessert. Mains selected off the Sunday lunch menu was a bit of a stingy portion so unsatisfying for healthy appetites. Also the desserts were both too sugary and my coffee weak but maybe because I asked for a large coffee which appeared to be just a small coffee in a larger cup and extra water added! The service was fine.
However, I still recommend it as was a good experience overall and when we exited the pub, took photos of the lovely outdoor areas where lots of thought had been put in to make it attractive and comfy. Recommended for smaller appetites!
Me and my family stopped here on the way home down the M6 looking for some nice lunch. I knew we'd found a good place the minute I walked in and was warmly greeted by two members of staff.
We sat outside in the courtyard and it was perfect with the sun out! We all loved the food we had. The warm duck salad was superb! Very reasonable prices too. All the staff are friendly and attentive. I even got to chat to the chef who was glad to hear the good feedback.
I'll be making sure I pop in again the next time I'm travelling up north!
We had a great meal here! Probably the best roast beef dinner I've had in years - my wife thought the same. Looked too good to waste time taking photos, so got stuck right in, but managed a snap of the desserts, which were also good. Kids meals high quality as well - clearly cooked from scratch, no microwave fish fingers here!
Friendly staff, nice wee outside area with covered and open sections. What's not to love!
