I booked The Plough Inn for the hen do I was organising. We booked the table for 15 people. Kirsty and the team were amazing! The entire hen party had nothing but positive things to say about The Plough Inn. Kirsty listened to everything we wanted, to make sure the party was personalised, wonderful, and fun. She put our party in our own room and decorated it beautifully with the decorations we provided. A very friendly service and we recieved our pre-ordered meals promptly. The staff were not fazed by having a large party in the pub! The roast was delicious and the cauliflower cheese was the group's favourite- and it was agreed some of the best cauliflower cheese we had ever had! The Plough Inn is a lovely pub, with great staff and delicious food - I would recommend everyone to go!

Called in here on the off chance for a Sunday lunch after finding it on a motor home stopover app and we really weren’t disappointed! It was coming up for 4pm and it had clearly been a very busy service. The bar was still very busy and after a bit of a wait we were served by a lady who we now know was Kirsty. She was so friendly and helpful despite being very busy. She explained the kitchen closes at 4pm and to order asap. We ordered straightaway. Kirsty came over to explain that as the kitchen should be closing but they’d had a few late tables drop in they were cooking a fresh batch of roast potatoes and we would be waiting about 1/2 an hour. We were quite happy with this and impressed to be kept informed.
The food arrived and wow it was absolutely delicious! The mini sausages we’d added on were fabulous and so tasty, the roast beef was succulent and cooked perfectly. A huge home cooked Yorkshire pudding and lovely mash and veg with delicious gravy.
I’m very observant and also work in a kitchen and I did note the kitchen staff leaving after their shift and they looked clean and well presented (this is always a big plus for me)
I really cannot rate this pub high enough for friendliness and superb food and service. Well done to all the team. We will definitely be back, and at some point we look forward to a stay overnight in our motor home 👌👌
We visited the area and found this lovely pub near the Hickling basin. We found the pub and staff very accommodating and friendly for our visit , so much we've been 3 times now. Some cracking ales to be had which I did.
Well worth a visit in a ideal setting and super dog friendly.
Thanks guys
Fab little place, we ordered way too much but took it home for seconds and thirds once we had recovered 😆 will be back for a pie night!
Food was delicious, I had the roast pork & it was very tender with a nice piece of crispy crackling, lovely roast potatoes & yourkshire pudding. Not long to wait, definitely recommend!
Four of us called for a bite to eat this evening, two had fish and chips one had Pie ( it was pie night ) the other had a steak.
Everyone really enjoyed their food, the steak was excellent and perfectly cooked ( rare ).
Service was spot on and all very reasonably priced.
Special mention for our server ( Kirsty ) incredible tray skills 😉
Thanks to all involved for a nice evening !
Really impressed with staff and service. Booked a table for Sunday lunch with my elderly father who has mobility issues and they made a note to give us a table with minimal walking. It was also very reassuring to know there was a toilet for the disabled. My father requested his veg be cooked longer than usual and the staff made a note of this and sure enough his veg had been cooked longer than mine. A lovely pub, wish it was our local. Particularly good for anyone with mobility issues.
Lovely staff, friendly and chatty. Food was nice and good value.
Could do with more gluten free options please.
Great village pub great range of seating areas....food looked really good... will definitely be back 🙂
such a lovely pub and the staff are amazing! The lovely Kirsty even drove us to the nearby vineyard when we couldn't get a taxi quick enough (thanks again!)
Beautiful Sunday meal. Staff so nice. All very friendly. Very dog friendly to.
Fantastic Pub offering superb food and specialist Ales. Nice staff, relaxed, chilled atmosphere.
Awesome place
We enjoyed a lovely meal in a typically English pub. The staff were very helpful, attentive and great fun. The games on each table were a real nice touch. We both had such an enjoyable evening and will definitely be going back. Many thanks
THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND.
Lovely, value for money food, Good choice of well kept ales, fantastic customer service in a newly refurbished village pub.
Found this pub by accident. What a little gem. Real ale. Great location, great food. Even the chips are "Real". Definitely recommend this place.
The pub itself is a beautiful and interesting building. Check out the snug and the top bar especially. Some interesting old photos and lovely traditional feel. The menu is great for those of us that want to continie supporting pubs but don't always want or are able to spend a fortune. I had a lovely generous fish pie for £10 ...amazing value!! The There is plenty of choice for all pockets. Great range of well kept real ale and craft beers. Parking is flat and spacious with a big beer garden. Staff are super helpful & very dog friendly. Lovely canal walks on the doorstep..Keep up the great work guys. We will be back!
I’m currently touring the country in my camper and was allowed to park over night if we had food and drinks, so that’s exactly what we did. The bar tender was very knowledgeable about what was on and all in all I would definitely recommend
Great pub with an excellent drink selection, the Sunday dinner is not to be missed!
A superb village pub run by knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating hosts. Wide range of drinks available. We went for Sunday lunch which was beautifully cooked and delicious. You definitely need to book to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended!
