We stayed here on 28 September 2023 as we were house hunting the next day. We couldn’t have had a warmer welcome from Ian and the other staff on duty. Our room was very pleasant room and spotlessly clean. The room had a nice sized shower en-suite and it was a comfy stay. Friday’s breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay there again.

Went in this afternoon for a quick snack, staff were very friendly and cheerful. Ordered a pint and half a lime & soda, along with their afternoon special. The food was very good and filling, we went for the tuna melt and pulled pork, along with mushroom soup and chips, both came with salad. I think the only thing I didn't like was the salad came with a dressing on which wasn't for me, I would've preferred to have been asked if I wanted it on, but my other half ate it so it didn't go to waste. Definitely recommend.

Stayed last night, absolutely beautiful. Fab service, happy staff, cosy pub. Lot's of space, great to walk about town centre. Brilliant room. Definitely spent money doing up rooms. Worth a visit, excellent breakfast, highly recommend by myself, we will certainly be back.

Wonderful bike friendly coaching inn. Ask nicely and they'll allow you to walk your iron horse through the pub and into the old stables. Good selection of real ale and sister pub across the road serves food late

Called in for lunch. Staff friendly and on the ball. Dining room was clean. We ordered 1 ham and mustard sandwich and 1pulled pork toasted ciabbatta, both with chips and side salad . Very tasty, filling and worth every penny. Highly recommend a visit

Absolutely delicious food. Reasonable price for the amount of food you get on the plate. Excellent table service. Not that often I finish a meal with a smile on my face. Definitely going again when I can.

We didn't stay at the hotel, we just ate in the restaurant. There was 4 of us, we had a selection of the main courses, plus a starter. The ladies had a bottle of prosecco, we had a couple of pints. In total, less than £82. The food was excellent. Main courses were about £9.50-£10 each and there was plenty to eat. It was good quality and tasted lovely. Pub food can be bland, but this certainly wasn't. Staff were very good, place was tidy and toilets were clean. Overall a very positive experience.

We stayed here for a wedding, it was really lovely. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, they even let us have the room from 11am to get ready in. Great breakfast too. Definitely recommend!

Superb My husband and myself called for a meal, never having been here before. Lizzie the waitress was amazing, so attentive polite, great eye contact when speaking. Lovely smile. The food was excellent compliment's to the chef. We had fish and chips, I watched as all the other meals came out and they all looked amazing. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Really enjoyable, relaxing stay here for a couple of nights. Friendly Owner/ Manageress and staff. Stayed in room 4 of 6 recently refurbished rooms. Excellent breakfast and good selection of meals on lunch and evening menu , served till 8 pm. Rooms are decorated and furnished in a contemporary style and are spotlessly clean, as are public areas and the whole establishment. We're already looking to visit again in a few months. Thank you very much for a great stay.

Great place to while away an hour or two in the beer garden. Food reasonably priced and very good (had the beef chilli today- fab) wine and beer also very reasonably priced compared with some bars in Hexham ! Looking forward to my next visit already.

First time visiting this place and it was a lovely place to have a drink in. Very clean and spacious, great décor inside and a lovely looking outside. Luckily as well there was a nice quiet room at the back for us to drink in away from the middle aged screaming drunks partying at the front so very accommodating for all types haha

Great location in the town. Short walk to the centre to visit the Abbey, shops and restaurants. Good base for trips to Vindolanda, Hadrians wall and Roman forts. We had the deluxe room, very spacious with a comfortable superking bed, loads of pillows, large ensuite bathroom with toiletries etc. Spotlessly clean, as are all areas in the hotel. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A very well run hotel. Would highly recommend and will use again.
