Last minute night away with the better half, very pleasant experience from start to finish! The staff from arriving couldn’t be more helpful. The room we had was lovely with all the amenities you would expect in a 4* resort. The Spa facilities were well appointed, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and pool. You can have treatments ( surcharge ) like body massages etc.
We had a wonderful meal in Mr Kennedy’s brassiere which was divine. We had complimentary breakfast next morning which was plentiful, full English plus continental options as well as tea and coffee in endless supply!
All in all a very pleasant stay which we will repeat again someday.
Lovely stay. The pool is great my son loved it especially the slide. Rooms are clean and spacious, yes a little dated but still fine. Huge beds. Food was great from evening meal to breakfast. All staff were encountered were really friendly and welcoming. We will definitely visit again.
Absolutely lovely stay. Our room was beautiful.
Food was great, breakfast a little chaotic at 9 but nothing to fuss about.
The guys enjoyed the golf and as for the Spa!!! Wow, best hour I've spent in a very long time. Emma was fantastic and was professional and expert throughout.
My friend and I had lunch in the bar and it was very enjoyable, the setting is stunning.
Evening meal was fab.
Loved it!
Beautiful room. All staff friendly and helpful. They have made our stay perfect. Can't praise them enough. The grounds are amazing. The spa is wonderful. Such a perfect, relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will come again.
A pleasant 2 night stay.
Slaley Hall is a beautiful place to stay with stunning countryside views, a PGA golf course, and a spa.
The large car park is a short steep walk to the main entrance, however, carts and butlers can help if needed.
There are ample restaurants and bars, all of which are decorated beautifully.
The restaurant menu had a good choice and plenty of availability.
The rooms are also very pleasant with coffee machine, mini bar, large TV, and complimentary Elemis bathroom samples.
The bed was rather hard, which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep, but nonetheless, we had a pleasant stay and would like to return.
Lovely place that we’ve been to a few times now for a quick short break. Rooms and fixtures are looking quite tired in some places, out of order facilities particularly in health club. Service quite slow (though very friendly) in restaurant but still worth it on balance at the right price. Needs a bit TLC soon though.
Booked a last-minute break in August. Great location with good walks inside the resort. The hotel offers excellent mini break venue, and they allow dogs, which was initially our reason for choice. The only negative was perhaps that the food choices from the 2 bar cafes and 1 main restaurant were limited. Room sizes were great and there was plenty of space in the lounge rooms to read a book after a long walk . I would give it 9 out of ten and would definitely return.
Room size okay if a little dated, no courtesy water or fridge in Room. Good choices for food, main restaurant and golf bar. However different prices for same drinks, and no-one could explain why. Good golf courses, although the championship course was very challenging, and the other course extremely hilly from tee 12 - 16.
Our visit was not long enough! Two nights, three days with a visit to the Spa, a big WOW. We really enjoyed every minute. Staff could not do enough for us enabling a great time. Even managing two weddings in two days. Breakfast was excellent, and a good selection of food for lunch from the bar with a range of cocktails, beers, spirits etc. Although the dinner menu was limited in the choice of starters, mains and dessert it was well cooked and presented. To accompany the food a wide selection of wine, spirits and beer. The grounds are vast spanning over a thousand acres with planned walks from under two miles to over three covering woodland and open areas. lastly, if golf is your thing there are two courses a full 18 hole and ( I think) a nine hole. A must for your diary ,a weekend or longer, you will enjoy your time : a great place to relax and rejuvenate.
Absolutely loved our stay at Slaley Hall! The grounds and surrounding area were gorgeous. We really liked that all guests were welcome to walk the grounds even if not playing golf.
Our room was spacious and equipped with everything we needed and we really appreciated the heated floors in the bathroom and the Air Con in the room!
We had breakfast and dinner in the main dining room and lunch in the bar. The food was good but a bit expensive I think. We also used the pool and spa facilities. Kayleigh was brilliant for a massage! The pool was big and there were family hours as well as adult hours. The only thing I’d recommend is to somehow make the lockers usable without needing a pound coin. I know that’s usually the way but I don’t have them anymore (this may just be a me problem)!
Thanks for a great stay. We hope to be back :)
All in all, a lovely location. The 2 golf courses are great - Hunting is longer and more challenging with some stunning holes and the Priestman is hillier with some really nice scenery and quirky holes.
The place is full of groups of golfers which can be rather frustrating if they are all drinking, taking too long to play and generally being extremely loud - you can go to other areas of the bars to find a quieter location if needs be. Food was nice, nothing special but with the package we got, we had a £27.50 allowance to spend on food. Staff are young but all have smiles on their faces and a good overall service.
Rooms are very basic but for the price we paid for the trip, nothing to grumble about.
The spa has a steam room which I enjoyed, a sauna but the temperature in there seemed quite mellow and several different sized pools (plus 1 jacuzzi, people in it for the time I was in there) for people to enjoy.
Booked for a couple of nights to chill out. Location is awesome sits in 1000 acres of countryside. Building is very impressive, rooms are nicely set out, lounge areas are very comfortable with easy access to the outside, with excellent views across the golf course. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Food is well presented and tasty, staff in the lounge bar were nice, especially scarlett. Some internal areas need a little attention but overall would recommend it.
My grandson had his wedding at Slaley Hall and it was perfect. The food was excellent and presented beautifully
The grounds are beautiful and a big plus the Rhoderdendrums were in bloom.
Breakfast was buffet style again beautifully cooked...no burnt offerings
There was no limit to what you could have and I noticed a couple of people going back for a second breakfast.
There was also an area for continental breakfast choices. Some had both
The rooms were very nice sadly my bed was very firm but others may have appreciated that....I would rate it 10/10
Our last min booking, Restaurant (Brasserie ) instead of our usual preferred cozy bar meal. But the staff were great.
The room was comfortable, it's nice to have use of the leisure facilities. Steam room was lovely & hot.
After breakfast we took a walk around the grounds before heading back home.
Great mini break.
