Me and my partner decided to celebrate our anniversary at Vegan Tapas last week- and we are so glad we did! I’m a vegetarian and my partner is a meat eater who is trying to cut down- both of us agreed that the food we ordered was some of the nicest food we had ever eaten. We had 6 tapas and 2 sides between us and that was more than enough as the portions are so big! We also shared a crème brûlée which was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful- we can’t wait to come back! Would definitely suggest trying, even if you’re not vegan or veggie! So happy to have such a lovely vegan restaurant right on our doorstep! 🌱💚
vegan food at its best. The North has been gifted with a fresh new Vegan restaurant that is Gita teed to take your pallet on an adventure.
Tried about 7 different dishes and without a doubt all were absolutely beautiful. The Tempura Broccoli and Gnocchi being a personal favourite, was tempted to order a second plate.
All of the dishes were fresh sounding, fresh tasting and fresh looking. There’s no room for processed vegan food here it’s all creative and aesthetically pleasing without compromising on flavour!
Great wine selection and superb cocktail list, they make a killer Espresso martini!
Service was very attentive and friendly, always well watered.
Facilities were perfect, always love a good looking toilet at a restaurant!
Honestly can’t wait to come back!
I wanted to taste the entire menu... everything I had was out of this world!
A group of 4 us had 13 dishes between us followed by a dessert each - this was probably a bit too much food (although we ate it all!) The 3/4 small plates that the menu recommends would've done the trick.
Great service and lovely interior.
What a wonderful place, will definitely be back.
Another fabulous trip to Vegan Tapas in Heswall. The love and care that goes into everything at this restaurant is astonishing. The food is outstanding (more on that in a minute) but it’s worth talking about the atmosphere and the staff first. This was only our third visit but we were greeted like old friends, made to feel welcome the minute we came through the door. The restaurant is homely and comfortable, with beautiful decor and attention to detail that you only get in a small restaurant. The staff are wonderful, passionate about the ethos of the restaurant and knowledgeable about the menu and the produce that is used.
Onto the food. We have our favourite dishes on the menu but it’s great to see the menu had changed a little bit. Not everything but as the seasons change so does the food offered. Knowing that everything is cooked from scratch and some produce is even sourced from the restaurant’s own allotments is wonderful. There is no processed food here, no fake meat products - just great produce and amazing flavours. Our favourite dish from our first two visits is the gnocchi with onion puree. We ordered two of these as it’s far too good to share. The patatas bravas is another must order, along with Padron peppers and some freshly baked bread which this time we ordered with pickles and home made butter.
From here we started to explore the new dishes. We were treated to a little amuse bouche of sweet potatoes with a cashew crema and it was delicious so we ordered that one. As a vegan, cheese can be a challenge and I’m often wary of cheese offerings but I trust the chef here implicitly so we ordered Jalapeño Camembert bites and were not disappointed. It has become my new favourite dish. That’s the one I’m going to order not to share next time! Crunchy on the outside and soft and velvety on the inside, with just a hint of heat from the scotch bonnet jam.
After all these amazing dishes you’d be forgiven for thinking we skipped dessert but oh no, when the food is this good there’s always room for more. Bring on the chocolate creme brûlée with raspberry coulis and honeycomb. The absolute perfect combination of rich, sharp and sweet flavours. Right down to the sugar coated lid on the brûlée. I almost forgot to mention the wine list - extensive and well thought out, I chose my usual Rioja. A perfect meal from start to finish in our favourite restaurant. Oh and 50% off in January so we will be returning before the end of the month - Chef, can I order my Camembert bites now?
I can't even explain how delicious our meals were, it was out of this world good. I also loved the decor and the seats were so comfy. The staff were all really kind and engaging. Cant wait to visit again, thank you!
This was our second visit and we absolutely loved it! The food is fantastic - such a wide range of dishes and I can't quite get used to the novelty of being able to choose anything on the menu! We shared 6 small plates (they're not that small...) between us. Roast cauliflower with tahini sauce was rich, but the pomegranate molasses cut through and stopped it being sickly, while the ras el hanout sweet potato was the right side of spicy and the sweet potato was meltingly tender. The arancini and katsu balls were lovely - something I'd never do at home and a real treat and the patatas bravas was a fabulous combination of taste and texture; crunchy potato, aioli and tomatoes. We had a plate each of the arancini and the patatas bravas, we enjoyed them so much. I'd like to be able to comment on the desserts, but we were full after all that and just went for a pot of tea. Could even have managed a wafer thin mint... There was a lovely atmosphere with subdued music which was never intrusive, and the staff were friendly. It was great to visit a restaurant where vegetables cooked in interesting ways were the star of the show, rather than relying on a meat substitute. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.
We have been to Vegan Tapas a couple of times now, once for a small family dinner and then for a 15 strong birthday meal.
On each occasion the food has been out of this world and my only complaint is my stomach isn't big enough to order everything off the menu. We always end up taking a small amount of leftovers to snack on later, as I can't leave a bit of the food.
The staff are so friendly and helpful and are really knowledgeable about the options on the menu and all of the sauces and flavourings that make up each dish.
I love the ethos of this place, where possible they make everything from scratch, even their chilli powder is made on site. Their specials are always awesome and eventually I hope some of them make it onto the main menu - oyster mushroom shawarma and Harris's sweet potatoes mmmmmm.
The style and decor is welcoming and homey and the chairs are super comfy
If your ever in the Wirral area, I would highly recommended stopping by this place. I've already booked my next visit there and planning another after that.
Excellent food guys, you rock!
The food is excellent. The service is attentive. The music…. I’m not a big fan of 60’s classics, but I can forgive the bad music as everything else was so good. This is what’s left of our shared sticky toffee pudding….oh by the way, get the gnocchi.
I'm actually sat here writing this at the table. The food is incredible. I'm one of those annoying Instagram people who takes photos of his food. Today I was served with food that made me forget to open up any app.
The staff are friendly, engaging and informative. And greeted us with a professional courtesy that was refreshing.
After being seated (in beautiful chairs!), we were introduced to the menu and could ask any questions we had without any hitch.
The cocktails were impeccable and came very quickly.
So did the food! It was on the table so quickly that the people with me were taken aback. And it looked impossibly good. Everyone was jealous of everyone else's choices and so it organically turned into a table where food was the currency. Things were swapped gladly to gain access to other plates. We even came here with an 18-month old and she was smiling throughout.
Come here as a couple and you've got endless choices for revisits. Come here with a larger group and it turns into a fantastic flavourful experience.
My only regret is forgetting to take any photos, all I have is this photo of an empty plate and a feeling of unique satisfaction. That's fine by me.
I'll be revisiting. Undoubtedly.
Delicious food, great flavours and ethos. Friendly service. Left very happy, will definitely visit again 😁
