The food and service was amazing. Nice clean and tidy pub. Irene Guest host came over and checked that we were happy with everything.
I visited tonight to start my 40th birthday celebrations. The food was excellent and our server Julia was outstanding. She really went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect for us.

Easter Sunday very busy but the staff were taking it all in their stride. We had not booked a table but didn't wait too long to be seated. The carvery was very nice. Julia came to clear our table & was very friendly she even sent some treats home for our dogs, they said "thank you" 😉 another lovely lady came across called Irene to check everything was to our liking. We couldn't fault our visit. Friendly staff & yummy food, what more could you ask for 👍👍
First time eating here. Got a nice warm welcome as we walked in. We were shown to a table and the process of ordering food was well explained. After ordering our food and drinks it didn't take long for our meal to be brought to us, and it was piping hot and delicious. We would go here again if we were nearby. Well worth calling in for food 👍
Food was good, we enjoyed both our meals. Considering we walked in without booking we were seated quickly for a Sunday.
My only issue was at 2015 I went to order a dessert and was told only take away available. Although the website says food served to 2100. Either website needs changing or proper signage displayed. In time I was sat there at least 5 other sets of customers walked in to leave when told stop serving.
The carvery was fantastic, top quality selection of veg & different gravies & plenty of sauces I.e apple, horseradish n mustard. Top place I'll definitely be returning
Unplanned visit good few of us this Sunday lunchtime. We were treat like royalty. WELCOMED by the lovely Host Irene seated fed and watered quickly. Delicious!!! food we thoroughly enjoyed it our Host and staff deserve this Review we will visit Wingfield again
I would love to give this place 5 stars because I visit regularly and the food is always excellent however unfortunately they never seem to have enough staff on to serve at the bar and take food orders, although the staff are friendly and helpful across busy times there is often a big wait. Also the takeaway cakes advertised are often not an available to take away, I would suggest that maybe the display is reduced when they “run out” of a certain cake to avoid disappointment for people .
It was a welcome break from a long journey, they were kind enough to find us a table at a very busy time. Staff friendly, helpful and attentive, large roomy pub, food was great, but at the carvery chef was getting a little stressed as he was running out of meat to carve for the guests and the team, continued to send customers. Apart from that the food was hot and tasty. Will go again.

Service by Julia was perfect, polite, attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
Food 10 out of 10, meat succulent and plenty of it. Mash no lumps and creamy. Roast potatoes were perfect caramelised on the outside soft and fluffy on the inside. A good variety of veg and all cooked to perfection, finally I had onion gravy, just like my mother used to make beautiful. We will be back😁
Cavery is a good option, but the overall menu is very limited to those who are Gluten free. There is no alternative Yorkshire pudding or even a Gluten free gravy. As a chain they need to be more aware of alternative dietary requirements and the seriousness of this in some people.
We arrived an hour early for our booking on the off chance (Sunday 12pm), it was very busy but we were seated straight away. There was only one person on the bar taking orders, but he was really efficient and sped through the queue easily. Ordered 2 carvery’s. The queue for food was massive but quickly went down. Food was excellent. Good choice, tasty and nice and hot. Lovely lady called Irene came to check on us to see if we’d enjoyed our food. Haven’t been here in a long time, but would definitely come again. It’s was rammed, but the atmosphere was relaxed.
First time dining at Wingfield today. We popped for a carvery and everything was brilliant! Team really friendly and service great. We’d booked ahead online and requested a high chair, this was promptly brought over when we arrived (20 mins early but this wasn’t an issue and table was ready). The carvery was delicious and really good value. Irene and Jackie were lovely and made sure we were well looked after, Jackie was especially great with our 10 month old girl. Looking forward to popping again soon 🧡
Great meal! Kids asked if we could have mcdonals today and for the same price as what we would of ordered we got an adult carvery and 2 Kids carvery (also comes with ice cream) staff are lovely and friendly, we were greeted by the lovely Irene. Kids actually ate the turkey they loved it! normally have to persuade them to eat real meat that's not breaded or battered. Thanks for having us.
Served by Becky, she was fast and efficient. Food was lovely. Table for three and we all had something different, the carvery was very tasty. Beef was tender. Burger, delicious and curry went down well.
