Had a great, freshly cooked breakfast here. Excellent sausages, bacon, and eggs sourced locally. Nice friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.
Wonderful afternoon tea me and my family had today. Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The cakes are AMAZING!
Will 100% be returning. Thank you to the staff for your lovely hospitality.
Interesting last review giving one star. Seems to have a real attitude to places that struggle with the Gluten free issue. The fact is that small places struggle with cross contamination and so can't risk being sued if there is an allergic reaction. It is not an attitude, it is a commercial fact. They do what they can. We eat here all the time as do hundreds of others hence it a busy place. there are plenty of foods that are non gluten.....as it happens my wife is gluten free also and we have never had any issue. Neil does bake lovely gluten free scones when he can. Most places can only buy a limited ready made option. Don't be put off, its a great place.
I had a latte there this morning which was very nice and previously I have had a cracking bacon sandwich, a lovely breakfast and a really tasty spinach Quiche. The atmosphere was pleasant with the sunlight streaming through, some good music and there was a nice buzz to the place at just after 9am. A touch over priced but you pay for the ambience and good service which unfortunately was lacking a bit this time. I would deduct half a star based on the table service and this is just based on today. The new staff member at my table was not overtly rude she was just lacking some basic courtesy and she did not leave a great impression with me. Would be good if the place opened much earlier.
Absolutely love this little cafe, was pleasantly surprised to see they have proper sausages on their breakfasts 😊 my partner had a burger and thoroughly enjoyed it 😀
Their variety of cakes was lovely, possibly my only downside, so much to choose from, not exactly a bad downside 😋
Staff were lovely and very helpful

Awsome breakfast and awsome coffee. Great looking selection of quiche and cakes so might have to bring the missus here one afternoon for tea and cake. Staff very friendly and helpful and attentive.
I called into the café this morning, after taking my car for it's MOT, so was an early customer. A hearty greeting was given and I ordered Eggs Bene and a coffee. It was the first time I had eaten this particular dish and enjoyed it very much.
Thank you once again for an excellent breakfast 😋.
Cute little place! Not much space for a crowded day, but very attentive staff. Scones were well evaluated by person that joined me, and they also have gluten free options.
Tea was good!
This was my first experience of The Black Cat. The tea was served with a China teapot, cup and saucer with a chocolate white mouse on the saucer. I had a slice of chocolate cake which was delicious. All the food on the menu was amazing. The service was great too. Would definitely recommend you take a visit.
Booked afternoon tea for a friends birthday, and we were so impressed. Options of which sandwich fillings we wanted individually and same for the homemade cakes...no little slices here the cakes were so big we had to ask for a doggy bag. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Two of us were running 30 minutes late due to being caught in traffic, but the staff were fantastic and told us we could still have the table for as long as we wanted. We will certainly be back. Thank you to all at the black cat for the amazing afternoon tea and service
Went for lunch just on Christmas eve. Pre booked and glad we did as it was very busy. Good menu selection, cakes sandwiches, paninins and breakfast. One if us went for all day breakfast while my daughter and I opted for the afternoon tea. This is also meant to be pre booked but they were lovely enough to make some up for us. Not dissapointed, both meals were delicious and served with a smile even though they were rushed off their feet. Bought some chocolate cake home for the other half which he said was also delicious. Good coffee too. Highly recommend
Lovely little caffee. The scone was delicious. It was comfortable even though it was very busy.
Popped in for a cooked breakfast the other morning & it was delicious. Great quality ingredients, piping hot & fast service. My wife had a scrummy sausage sandwich. Would highly recommend if in the area.
Had an excellent late breakfast /early lunch my wife had the quiche which exclaimed was beautiful, fresh and simply gorgeous, for myself I chose the full breakfast ,which was sublime and delicious 😋 price for us both inclusive of 2 pots of tea just over £20 ,and worth every penny
Beautiful little place, food is amazing, staff vary welcoming and polite definitely 5* from me.
Had afternoon tea today and it was lovely, plenty of good food and drinks. Doggy bag to take food we couldn't manage. Staff were busy but had time to chat. Well worth a visit
