Stopped by here while out walking on the Sunday of the King’s Coronation weekend. The whole village was just about to start a celebratory party, and the place had a nice feel about it.
A family-run, traditional village pub with rooms. Looked very clean and smart inside. Will definitely return to
Lovely old pub/rooms in a small hamlet not far from Hertford. Friendly hosts, good home cooked food for evening meal and breakfast, and great atmosphere. Plenty of parking, beer garden and children's play area, also only 5 mins walk from Bayford Rail station into London or up to Hertford/Stevenage
Hidden gem
If your anything like me, I tend to type into google ‘hidden gems’ then the area when looking for places to eat.
Well this is a hidden gem, probably known to the Bayford community and now me.
I drive past the bakers arms twice a day. Each time I do, something else catches my eye and I t
We received a genuine cheerful welcome and shown to our room, clean tidy and warm, with a good bathroom too. Excellent local draught beer in the bar, a good choice of food, well prepared and good portions. After a good sleep, a freshly prepared cooked breakfast. A good stay, recommended. Downside...
We had dinner at the Bakers Arms because the place where we usually eat with family was closed and we had a fabulous meal. All of the food was home cooked and full of flavour. The portions were huge and the gentleman who owns the pub really looked after us. I also think it was very reasonably priced
This wonderful pub is only accessible by car. I came here with family to have a meal. I ate their Sunday Roast. Staff were professional and friendly. They were helpful while finding us comfortable seating. Our meal was not rushed. I would definitely eat here again.
Me and my brother stayed overnight in a room with single beds and an en-suite. Nice and cosy. Tea/coffee in room.
Warm welcome from the landlord on arrival and the hospitality carried on from there. Great food for evening meal and a very generous full English for breakfast.
Parking at rear of pub. H
Definitely a fabulous pub. The owner and his wife are lovely hosts and the food is homemade, piping hot and delicious. Very high quality and the surroundings are relaxing and clean. First time we've been here and highly recommend. We will certainly be going back.
I was in the Area for work and needed a place to stay for the night. What a lovely wholesome place it is. Had sausage and mash for dinner and it was absolutely fantastic! Rooms clean tidy and everything you need. Beers cold and fizzy as can be. Fantastic pub and would highly recommend it.
Wonderfully friendly country pub in the centre of a beautiful village. The food is consistently great, from the standard pub fayre, to their legendary Sunday lunch, which take some beating! Giant Yorkshires and the most amazing gravy.
