A 6.30 booking for dinner with our two children 5 & 7, really welcoming staff, relaxed pub atmosphere. Great menu and a great varied kids menu too. We went on wine Wednesday so enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine with our main courses. Kids fish and chips was great, classic prawn cocktail was a large portion with chunky bread, the black pudding and pork bonbon on celeriac remoulade was delicious. We also had two specials Haddock on new potatoes with cream, chive and bacon sauce, and pancetta wrapped chicken on asparagus with butter sauce, both really tasty. Good selection of wine and beer available, well kept Greene King IPA on hand pump, would definitely return, keep up the good work.
A quick pub search drew us to The Curious Cat. Wonderful food, beers, atmosphere, bar. Very friendly, great service. Lots of exterior spots to like. The interior has old pub theme but seems new, fresh - & is certainly clean. I had lamb, my wife salmon. Both good! Enjoy this side of the road gem. (Dog friendly, btw.)

We went out of our way to come for lunch after reading positive reviews and happy to say that the food and service lived up to the hype. There were so many things on the menu I wanted it was hard to chose. In the end I went for the excellent lamb burger and my husband had the pie of the day, which was really good. Large, tasty children’s potions also and good value. Service was great also.
What a great place for a lovely Sunday dinner. The food was great, the service exemplary. Highly recommended- but make sure you book. Give McKenzie a pay rise!! :)
The Curious Cat is very cute and lovely. The service was friendly and the food was quick and yummy. If you are after a good cup of coffee, this is the place to get your coffee fix. Beautiful coffee.
What a great Pub/Restaurant this is. A table for 12 had been booked, and I must say, the staff were brilliant and made us all feel most welcome. The service was excellent, as was the food. This is certainly a venue I'd recommend, beit for a large or for just a couple, it won't disappoint. The food was super and well prepared and presented, too. This is definitely a place I'd recommend and most definitely return to.
We visited the curious cat for dinner last night, and we loved it, the staff were so welcoming on arrival and the waitress and bar man could not do enough for us the pub and restaurant were spotlessly clean even down too no water marks on the glasses or cutlery and had a lovely atmosphere typical of a lovely old country pub. The food was delicious and piping hot, we really enjoyed all 3 courses every dish was cooked to perfection. We can not wait to return I only wish we had got the chef, waitress and bartenders names because they absolutely made our experience and deserve the highest praise. ☆☆☆☆☆
Dog friendly pub, great customer service very friendly and helpful with recommending stuff to do in the area. Cocktails was really nice and recommend. Food was fresh and tasted great
Literally cannot fault this restaurant - food absolutely delicious and excellent value for money! Am a massive Nachos fan and the ones from Curious Cat are best ever! Such friendly and helpful staff great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
