Went today for afternoon tea with friends. Hannah and the rest of the girls made us very welcome. The cats are very healthy and happy and didn’t seem at all bothered by us being there. Two of the cats really enjoyed being fed treats. I would highly recommend a visit. If you like cake and cats, what’s not to like. X
It's disappointing to see a loud minority of people claim that this concept forces the cats to be around people.
This is clearly not true as you've ensured that there are separate areas for them to be.
I love the look of the cafe; its clear that you're thinking of the cats' welfare by providing plenty of high places for them (also be away from people) if they choose.
I would strongly recommend that commenters refrain from making blind assumptions which presume the worst about the concept and owners. It causes needless upset.
My thoughts are based on facts from the owners and having viewed the cafe and cats from outside.
Unhappy cats will not want to interact, so of course its in the owners' best interest to provide them a good quality of life. On top of this they are supporting an adoption charity. This is not the action of someone who does not care and is only interested in profiting from animals.
I have high expectations for this business and hope the owners are not disheartened by a small number of thoughtless commenters.
Again, all the best and I look forward to visiting.
A wonderful place to enjoy a coffee, sandwiches and cake surrounded by gorgeous cats. I visited with a group of friends and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea. The Cat nannies and everyone were very welcoming and more than happy to talk about the cafe cats as well as hearing about our own cats. I will certainly recommend the Cosy Cat Cafe to others. Thank you for the fabulous afternoon!
What a wonderful experience my first visit was today. The cats are obviously very content, even though some are still getting used to their new surroundings. The inside is very well thought out with high, mid range and lower places for the little darlings to relax and a very safe space to the rear for cats who prefer the open air. The service I received was second to none and the staff are truly wonderful and very easy to talk to. Thank you so much for a lovely time. Dave from Cats in Crisis ♥♥♥
What a lovely experience my second visit was, I was spoiled rotten. A three tier cake tray full of delicious vegan sandwiches, fruit and cakes which made my taste buds explode with delight. Yet again the staff and service were exemplary. Panda was in his usual place in the window nonchalantly posing for all the passers by, so laid back, and little Bobby was enjoying all the attention he could get, he is certainly one very cool and extremely friendly cat who likes nothing more than being fussed. There was a whitish cat high up (sorry, I can’t remember his/her name) staring down inquisitively, wondering what all the fuss was about. I finally got to meet Chris and that alone was an experience to saviour, such a wonderful caring woman. All in all, today was certainly a day that I will look back on as one of the best experiences outside working at cats in crisis I have had for quite a while. Thank you Chris and all your wonderful staff for a great time. Hope to see you all again soon

I took my parents who love cats but are no longer able to have one.
Visiting the cats filled that missing gap along with tea and cake they loved it.
The cats are very well looked after they come to you and are all very relaxed
Highly recommend
Lovely cafe with extremely friendly staff. The cake was delicious! A wonderful adventure playground for the cats! Well worth supporting this caring, well intentioned business
Went here today with my daughter and we both had a lovely time , very friendly staff and the cats are so lovely and friendly highly recommend
lovely relaxing place .The cats can come and have cuddles if they wish or escape if they're not in the mood. they all seem so happy, relaxed and content in there surroundings.
The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable about there fur babies. Nothing was too much trouble and the cake was amazing. could literally sit here all day. thanks to the staff for doing such an amazing thing for these cats. will be back as often as possible xxx
Lovely place! I walked in spontaneously, looking for a coffee to revive me a bit.
Best choice ever. The cat nannies are fab, are happy to talk about the cats, and I felt honoured when Panda sat on the table next to me. I even managed to give Woody some chin rubs which he thanked me for with an adorable meow.
It's great to see the cats so relaxed in their new home and my latte was tasty. Definitely got my cat fix. Added bonus was the air conditioning, cats and visitors won't overheat. I'll definitely be going back.
The owner and staff are working hard to get this venture up and running...all are so dedicated to the well being of the cats and hoping people that visit cat cafe can enjoy a natter and the beautiful cats...thank u patty..🤗
I would have stayed all day if I could. A lovely cafe, with very friendly and attentive staff. Also a great selection of yummy gluten free cakes too!! The cats are free to come and go as they please between the cafe and their garden space so they are all very happy and comfortable. Just be patient and gentle with them as they are still getting used to people and I imagine learning to trust again, they are all so adorable and love having a stroke. Was great to chat with Hannah, one of the cat nannies and get to know a bit more about them all. Best part of my visit was a lady asking me if she could pay for her drinks, was sad to say I didn’t work there (but I wish I did). Good luck with everything and thank you for a lovely time, I will be back.
I was lucky enough to attend the cafe’s official launch tonight. What a lovely place! Ethical, not for profit and plenty of quiet outdoor space for the cats that are not as confident. The staff were so helpful. It was great that cat nannys attended every need of the cats. The waiting staff was so friendly and the food was excellent. I can’t wait to see this team
Succeed and cuddle the cats again soon .
I had to give up a cat once, only once and have felt guilty ever since, especially not knowing what the future had instore??
At first I thought this was going to be somewhere where cat owners would just be bringing their felines and have a cuppa. Only to learn the cats will be from a rescue centre.
This has eased the occasional nightmare of our donut locked in a cage in a endless room with thousands of others in a similar hell like situation
So I'm going to give a 5* rating for this greatness and may you have many many happy years..
5* just for the idea and I'm sure the place is going to be a great success once opened. If I had to place my cats in to a rescue centre I'd be thrilled if they ended up here can't wait to visit!
Had a lovely visit today. Welcoming staff and great food. Very contented and well looked after cats.
We had a lovely time at this cafe with our daughter (aged 10)on a rainy morning in October. The lady working at the time - I believe her name was Tracy - was friendly and knowledgeable about the cats. We spent a lovely hour here having cake, coffee and cat cuddles (you have to wait a while for them to ‘warm’ to you)! It is expensive but you’re covering the cost of taking care of the cats when you read their website, which is totally fair enough we felt. Recommend if you’re visiting Herne Bay and are cat lovers!
Lovely place. Friendly staff cute cafe and the cats are lovely. All with various backgrounds and now have a loving place to live out their days now.
Highly recommend if you like cats and cafes we just had teas and hot chocolates. They also made an effort for my daughters birthday 🎂
This is such a lovely little cat cafe to visit. The cats are super friendly and the staff are all really nice too. Already trying to book to come back with my mum!
We had a brilliant time today and despite not pre-booking, the café was more than accommodating with a lovely mocha, tea and some delicious warm chocolate fudge cake served with cream - yum!
The staff were very friendly and were keen to know where we'd come from and what drew us to the café. The cats were so friendly and every one had a backstory which the staff were only too pleased to talk about. Our favourites were Panda, Bella and Poppy and of course Kiki who was a very sweet lap cat who introduced herself to us towards the end of our visit.
The café is a great size spread across two floors, there is a small gift shop and you are welcome to explore the courtyard and play with the cats as much as you like. The menu is extensive and caters for all tastes and appetites, including gluten free and vegan.
The cats are very well looked after and have plenty of space to have some alone time if they wish, though they were only too happy to hang around for attention from all the visitors during our time there or have a snooze in their beds, watching the world go by.
If you're a fan of cats or just wish to have some delicious food in a quirky setting, this is definitely the place to be - highly recommended!

Was enjoyable trip to the Cafe, though disappointing of the amount of cats - less than our previous visit.
Overall, a nice fun experience, though amount of cats and interaction were limited.
Introduced to all the lovely rescue cats plus told their journey to being rescued, to keep on top of vet bills & looking after them there's a small charge per person (check on website) a great experience, best to book in advance. 👍🏼
This is the most amazing and wonderful place you could wish to visit.
The owner, volunteers and cats are all so welcoming and it is clear how well the cats are loved and respected.
Visited once and never looked back!
Great atmosphere, lovely place to go for afternoon tea and spend time with the cats.
The cats are just loving life. They are so relaxed love going outside in the sunshine.
Plenty of places to sunbathe and inside they can sit in the window and watch the world go by. Upstairs they have their cosy little beds.
I had a tea and cake, and 45 mins with the cats which is £8.95, so quite reasonable.
The cake was a lovely double chocolate cake, with chocolate sauce and lovely fresh cream.
Lot's of great things to buy cat related as well in the little shop, I brought socks, spoon, bag, teaspoon holder, all cat related of course great prices.
The time seemed to go so quick though, it was lovely to see all the beautiful cats.
Definitely recommend it and would go again. Just make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
If you love cats then this is the place for you. The cats have all been rescued and are happy in this cafe being cared for and loved.
Wonderful place, the cats are beautiful and well looked after. Such a relaxing atmosphere. I would love to visit again if I’m ever in Herne Bay again.
