We went for our wedding anniversary and they couldn't do enough for us to make it special. We received a warm and friendly welcome with little hearts on the table and romantic music all evening. The food was delicious and all fresh. The service was excellent, relaxed and friendly. We have been before and will definitely go again. Thanks for rescuing our special day xx

Herne Bay is a charming town with a really good choice of restaurants and bars...The Bouncing Barrel, Wallflower Cafe, Bay Leaf Cafe, Casa Mia to name but a few.
But there is a real gem in this town tucked away in a romantic basement part of an old townhouse simply called The Wine Bar. Don't go thinking it is just a wine bar as it is a fantastic little restaurant too. The menu is well crafted and suitably minimal with an excellent range of choice and the food is of a very high standard and quite delicious. I had vegetarian fajitas which were lovely and very generous in portion size. I was really happily surprised by the thought that has gone into the menu and would have liked to try other things so I must return.
The decor is charming and subtle, creating an intimate and friendly atmosphere and the host and hostess really welcoming and engaging. I was impressed with the wine list and the quality of the Albarino which we had.
I would seriously recommend a visit, though phone ahead as they are very busy.
A real gem if you are visiting the area or staying in Herne Bay.

Delightful and cosy wine bar in the centre of Herne Bay town. Great menu. The owners went out of their way to cater for us even making special vegan options for the menu for us. Tasty and fresh food. Generous portions too! Took my mum for her 60th and had a superb evening.
